I was able to get past the Windows 2008 firewall in hardmode with Metasploitable 3. It was easy.

I uploaded a payload created with msfvenom to virustotal and it was caught in large numbers. It wasn't caught at first, though.
There are many msfvenom payloads that cannot be captured by Defender unless they are uploaded to VirusTotal. Therefore, the security is quite inadequate.
