Backplane of the drives. THAT HBA handles SATA and SAS at PCIe 3.0 8x speeds. You also got 9500 that is PCIe 4.0 x16, that also includes NVMe support
But, no NVMe, and not 4.0. Server has PCIe 3.0 8x, so went with the 9305 16i
