My question is in order to get a job in cybersecurity do i need to get any certifications after i complete either a SOC or a Pentester roadmap. I currently do not have any background in IT. But have bit of knowledge in IT, through doing online courses. I have heard people saying that you will need to do projects as well to stand out. Can someone please shed some light on this. Thanks

It depends, but seeing as you are a subscriber and not that high level I would also recommend the attackbox (I use attackbox) as long as you don't have major lag problems

Depends on what you prefer. Attack box is usually set up with everything to solve the tasks. Using your own VM gives you more flexibility both in dedicating more resources, but also running own scripts and setting up your own programs. Personally i use my own VM even though I am a subscriber

a question to the pros: how do attackers achieve persistence after the initial access without leaking the own ip? i guess they might install a revershell that autostarts on boot or periodically somehow. but that reverseshell ofc needs an ip address. they wont use their on since that would be dumb. do they use a vpn then? but then the ip would change from time to time making the deployed reverse shell useless. do they just use remote/sattelite-hosts that they already exploited for that kind of stuff? or are there other ways? curious if any of you has some more insights into the real use cases ... thanks in advance!
