You can use VirtualBox for better experience.

It's not a hypervisor specific problem. Usually there is a guest extensions package you need to install in the guest, or you can manually set the display resoolution in the guest if all you want to do is change the screen size.

I think the issue with emails, is that if you want proper end-to-end encryption, you either need all of your recipients to use Proton or whichever email service offers this feature, Or you need to encrypt them yourself, and ensure the recipient is tech savy enough to do the same on their end.

Do you also consider the pen 100 course to be hard to understand? Since your goal seems to be to pass the OSCP, doing their courses can't be a bad idea. However, nothing is stopping you from using other resources.

PEH is definitely great, but it's in video format, so that might not suit your learning style. They have a whole section on building an AD lab, configuring it, then attacking it, which is very useful.
There are also a few network rooms on THM that can help learn some of the concepts needed for the OSCP.

I think you should try and finish the pen100 the course and see how you feel. It might have been hard for another person, but we are all different 🙂
It's easy to get sidetracked with plenty of different courses covering the same or similar topics, then never actually completing one of them.

This is the problem, it doesn't cost me any more money. But we have a negligence clause in our contract that states we can lose gas and electricity if they think we're misusing the 'unlimited' resources we've been given.
