I think the HP Pavillion laptop uses several NVMe sticks in a raid configuration as one big drive. But this can't be seen by Windows intaller without a driver which is not part of windows. Without the driver, installation media doesn't see any drives to install to.

Intel have also decided to stop providing this driver to people. But instead just give an .exe file to install the driver and manage the RAID. But that's useless since you can't install an .exe file when installing an OS, you need a driver. They suggest you run the .exe on another PC and navigate to where the driver is installed to grab the driver. But that doesn't work because if your other PC is not a HP laptop running this dumb intel RAID the .exe will error and do nothing. So you have to decompile the .exe, locate the driver, grab the driver and put it on a second USB stick. So when you are installing windows you can go "here is the driver you dumbass".

And that's the HP experience.

Honestly from an IT standpoint, test from another computer you have in the same network. Then you can expand to testing your OpenVPN connection. I don’t off the top of my know of the best rooms for testing, but you can gain root in many easy rooms, allowing you access to just test anything.
