Not sure ab tmux, but tmux might have a session timeout therefore killing a session if its not used for a period of time to save resources (mysql has this), screen shouldn't unless the server is restarted, and even if so you can use cronjobs instead

Don't get certs while you are in school. Your degree has much more professional weight than anything bar multiple SANS certs
