The paths teach you various methodologies for various different roles, but they also teach you about resources you can use to help your exploration and discovery.

When you hit a wall, don't despair, it just means you need to go out and find some information. Try to stay clear of writeups for rooms you find on the web, and rather look to learn the tools and methods, make notes of what you learned and build up a collection of tools/methods/processes as you go

I had a similar issue, that why I made a checklist, from the stupidest thing as turn numlock on startup as themes, soft, special configurations, etc. After I finish with that I install timeshift and use foxclone, and I redo the image if I install a new soft or made significant changes on my conf 🙂

if you find something suspicious investigate

make sure it really isnt just windows updating

(it usually is)

also reboot your pc too like bella suggested
