any public bounty program is going to have maaaaany eyes on it at once, many of which have no idea what they're doing, but many that do --- the pickings are a lot slimmer and you have to be quick or catch what everyone else somehow missed.
private programs are easier, but you have to break through the publics first 🤷‍♂️ in either case, VDPs and testing (locally) against open source is a solid introduction in comparison imo

if it was as easy as going to google.com and somehow landing a reflected xss on the search box, we'd all be even more doomed than we already are

That's the default background that loads before your chosen wallpaper is loaded. Takes a little while to get in order
Probably best to just install from the ISO rather than going with the standard vm image

Yeah dd mode is always a good fallback in rufus. In Linux I mostly just dd my images, but that’s not for the feint of heart

Kali is built on a rolling releae, so it's always up to date, reasonably speaking. It can be a little unstable sometimes, but it's mostly just fine. You can do things like patching/updating it occasionally, keeping a version as a stable state and cloning it, keeping regular snapshots and backups of your vm and/or your files.

And to keep motivated I need progress, to see that I do something and I complete or that I study something new

And I got a burnout because I was forcing myself to pass this path every evening and I left THM for a few months 🤷

np, like last time I was really invested on computer was the world deployment of IPV6, which I reckon was 2012 or so.

On the pausing, I could focus on the video, music in the background, or simply go make some tea or coffee, wash the dishes, or cook something quick.

Python can be used for games btw. I'm into simracing and I play Assetto Corsa. There are interface apps that are based on python, and for example, they can collect information from the game, like speed and show it to you.
I wanted to make a G force meter, but it didn't work out
