If you use a Kali VM, all you need to do is download your OpenVPN script from the access page and run it.

Don't use the OpenVPN with your own personal VPN as that will conflict. (may)

I can use my own VPN then connect to the OpenVPN just fine, sometimes I need to stop it from auto-directing to https.

But I'd suggest not using a second VPN, just connect to the OpenVPN.
