from what I have heard, if you like a structure or a path to learn go for tryhackme, if you learn by being tossed in a random place and figuring out what to do then do hackthebox. imo I would say start with tryhackme, learn the basics, do some ctfs once you learned enough move to hackthebox since challenges are harder and makes you find the answer by researching and finding out for yourself with no help
