Python and bash will be helpful, many languages have different specialties in different areas, there is no "best language" so to speak, I recommend finding a specialty and finding something that fits that specialty, programming isn't a necessity for hacking but it is helpful

Understanding basic syntax that typically applies across all common languages is something you will need though
