This is the answer of someone who seems have a experience:

Generally speaking, you need a device to convert your ISP signal into a data stream. That device is a modem. Then you need a device to send the data stream to the proper devices on your network; a router.

Since you specify a network, I assume you already have a switch which connects the various devices on your network together. And you already have a router to control the switch. You may also have WiFi Access Points to connect devices to the switch.

Usually, a residential internet service provider (ISP) will provide a single device that contains a modem, router, switch (often 4 port), and WiFi Access Point. Some people incorrectly call this device a modem or router, which just makes things confusing.

So the answer to your question: If you already have a functional network- that has a router and switch- you need a modem. If the ISP provides the “multi-purpose” device, you can eliminate your router and switch, and use what the ISP provides.

Which obviously has to be checked by a human so it eliminates the false positives, as LLM's won't have a good grasp on tone etc.

Red team engagements are a game of chess, where you have an objective that you have to hit in the least amount of moves possible, which AI just... isn't there and won't be for a while
