I tried playing around with Kali on a VM and was having trouble getting some of the programs to run because it didn't have physical access to the network interface, and didn't have the time to try to figure that part out. Does running off a USB run into the same problem, or is it just like running up a dualboot?

I was playing around on a THM room and I couldn't get the program in question to work, and when I looked it up it seemed like not having direct access to the interface was the issue. I remember reading that there was a way to fix that issue, but I unfortunately never got back to it and ended up reflashing my whole computer shortly after that
