It's not completely different at all. Ubuntu and Kali are both based on Debian. Ubuntu utilises the GNOME desktop as a default environment while Kali utilises the XFCE environment as default. Ubuntu has it's own PPAs, and Kali has it's own PPAs.

Depends what they're interested in. There's lots of ancient sites to see, castles, churches and the like. There's lots of nice walks. While it's nice to do a tour, they're better off to take some time and go for a ramble.

If they're in Dublin, Temple Bar is a very overpriced tourist spot. Usually wandering just outside it will lead to much more interesting places. The James Joyce pub tour is a good experience. I've drank in all these pubs over the years. If they're in Dublin a couple of days, I'd recommend Going to Howth or Bray for a day
