In that case you can use podman to build the images and k8s with whatever runtime (for example contianerd, cri-o) to orchestrate and run them. Still separate things that don't depend on each other and wouldn't happen on the same machine in real life. Podman is standalone and doesn't need any of the other components.

Unless this is purely for learning purposes there's no point in running k8s on a single node which is also used for dev.

Objectively not hard at all. You know what to expect if you do the right course, they're not gonna surprise you. And the individual skills are more or less trivial. The only difficulty is thst it's a lot of them you need to remember. I got lost at one question and then it was a time crunch towards the end.

All I had to do is buy a MoCA adapter for the coax into LAN on my Asus router, I had an rj45 from the ONT along with the coax, so RJ45 went into WAN.

One thing I love about the Asus router, SOOOOO much easier to get guest networks up, and VLAN configs up

I go from my server. Direct to my desktop, not router. I could easily go from 10g port on server, to 10g switch, and still have 10g speeds internal on all ports (if all ports are 10g) to every device if needed
