when your'e out of ideas, open walkthrough and peek the next step or just a hint, then try again - thats how you learn

You get used to linux commands the more you practice with em, you won't know everything about each command right off the bat.

My reccomendation, re-read the material, fire up a VM and start using the commands, get used to it

Read the manual... like: man nmap

VM's are the best learning place to play around with commands.

BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD KNOW WHAT YOU'RE RUNNING!
Don't run random commands people post on the internet unless you actually know what it's doing.

also if you're stuck during enumeration and you suspect that there should be something else, try using different wordlists, fuzz lists, extensions etc.
