The real reason why there`s less viruses on other operating systems than windows is because the market share is too low for it being worth it. Actually what increased the program "speed" was skipping MIME checks on the files altogether, and instead, passing all of them to extraction methods with try/except. If the file corresponds to the extraction method e.g. from_pdf(), it will work.

The MIME checks were mostly to display the number of {type} files read, at the end of execution. At first seemed like a important thing to do, like VERIFY if that file is indeed a {type} before passing it to extraction.

If you've only done 4 rooms, it will probably filter better when you do more.

it might just be that the rooms in intro to cyber and pre-sec don't teach enough to recommend any ctf in particular, as the basis of those paths is to give you a solid foundation to start doing cybersec ,and other paths will give you the skills to complete ctfs
