I disagree with the fundamental verbiage, and gives laymen misunderstanding of what the models are doing. "Learning" in the AI/ML technical jargon is as you describe, but it applies to a very narrow probabilistic outcome. It's like when cosmologists dumb down the physics of the big bang or quantum for laymen. there's a lot of nuance missing, and you could apply a LMM to any gamified experience.

You wouldn't be "teaching" the model the language, you're teaching the model how to score well in th e game.

It's good to compile cheat sheets and get lots of practice. Install Linux in a vm and play around with it. Take a snapshot of the vm and do stuff with it. When it breaks, reload the snapshot

That's pretty cool. I've only done a slackware install a few times. I started with Red Hat Linux 5.0 (pre-rhel days) as part of a college class. Yeah I really liked Debian and it was my thing for quite a while but I changed distros a lot back in the day. I used to get free boxes of Ubuntu DVDs and CDs sent to my office to hand out to people. Most people had no clue what those were for the nerds were happy with them though. Then Mint came out and I had a great time with it. It's my main os pretty much the last 12 years
