this is breakfast

glass nest

shell nova
glass nest

In the west its used for lunch/dinner. Put it in salads, mix with sauce.

timid prism

we just have it for breakfast, rarely

glass nest

Well, East asia has Congee for breakfast, and thats made of rice :p

cous cous is nice. sainsburys do a nice pot of morrocan style cous cous

#

we have dry rice

timid prism
glass nest
#

weeee - You are trying to learn to cook. I'm terrible at cooking, but don't limit your thinking to 'Rice is a dinner only food'. Stuff can be prepared in different ways

timid prism
#

rice is the only dinner food πŸ˜‚ lol yes its kind of
its simple bcuz we only need dal and yes that is very simple to make but mixing spices and all need experience and i might make it weirdly spicy or sour idk

#

we eat light

glass nest
#

Well, thats a matter of taste and what you have locally. Sounds like you have a south asian culture. Might be worth asking around locally, as they'll know better whats available and whats nice

bitter quiver
timid prism
#

its just a matter of how and what u mix in vegetables

#

otherwise every dish is same

glass nest
#

Aye, Lots of places have staples/constants. I'm a huge fan of East Asian food - Hong Kong, China, Japan.. Love it. Most of them come with Rice

#

Think of the rice as a 'Filler', and the stuff you add to it is the taste.

timid prism
#

those are their type of dishes
but for us we can eat rice with any dal available, and for east asian we prefer noodles as we are used to rice with dals

glass nest
#

Trial and error in making the sauce will be the way forward for you

bitter quiver
timid prism
glass nest
#

Now theres lots of words I don't know πŸ˜„

#

So.. Dal is.. What a type of rice?

timid prism
#

the easiest to make is dal fry

#

dal is curry i think

#

rice is rice

bitter quiver
#

Only dal I'm able to kind of know how to make is dal mackhani

glass nest
#

(Honestly, I don't eat much south asian food. Too spicy for me)

timid prism
#

🀣

glass nest
#

I know theres mild stuff, but still

timid prism
#

mild stuff is sugar

#

u should try something spicy and ull feel what taste is

bitter quiver
glass nest
#

One of the Indian managers in one of my stores brought in something his wife made for me to try and she made it 'Mild' for me. Yeah...... What they see as mild is fire πŸ˜„

bitter quiver
#

Turns out even for Indians her spice level is high

#

I make a nice dish? She adds serrano peppers and chili flakes on top because it "needs more flavor"

#

I can make spicey chili and it's mild to her

timid prism
#

yea elders are usually fine with spices, me im turning 17 and still cry if i eat a spice chili

bitter quiver
#

Granted as a result, I can now eat hot wings that are actually spicey and survive meals a lot of indians say is too hot here in the U.S.

#

timid prism

Lots of time you can sub the meat for some chunky veg

bitter quiver

I even eat veggie bacon

#

I still eat real bacon

timid prism
bitter quiver

But I've trid most veggie options and honestly now, they aren't horrible

Veggie spicey chicken patties are tasty enough to grill up on lunch and toss on a bun

Most veggie dogs are "okay" if you coat them in toppings

You would be able to if you actually put in the effort to research.

My original message wasn’t me calling you out for lying, if you check my very first message all I did was ask you for a resource.

If you had, that would have been the end of it. I didn’t challenge you because I thought you were wrong, I challenged you because everyone person who starts the same argument you have don’t actually have proof or are just spreading conspiracies (not saying that you are doing this).

You may well be right but a community built on people pushing their opinion without factual evidence or an actual resource quickly leads to misinformation and problems.

You are not the first person that I have challenged, I do it a lot. Challenging someone shows understanding when they can actually formulate a response instead of becoming hostile or neglecting to respond πŸ™‚

mossy river
#

Not necessarily tricks

crude stump
#

Hm

mossy river
#

It actually works really well for what it is. A lot of people compare it against products that flavour the water but the whole point if AirUp is that it does not use flavouring

sand trench
#

Hi there! Aspiring food scientist/sensory scientist here. The way that is bottle β€œworks” is by taking advantage of retro nasal olfaction. Basically there’s 2 ways for the compounds for aroma to get into the nasal cavity: the nose and up the back of your throat. I think a lot of people have heard that most of flavor is smell, and that’s completely right, since retronasal olfaction accounts for most of flavor (in addition to taste and nerve sensations). So in fact, you’re mostly just smelling the flavors of these pods, though there is some taste happening.

Now the problem with this bottle is that the people have different levels of ability to perceive aroma or odor. Some people just lack the receptors for some odors (this is called anosmia). The bigger issue is with the nose. In order to have retronasal olfaction, the nose HAS to be unblocked so that air can flow through. This can change with allergies or illness, and it’s why flavors are harder to taste when your nose is stuffed. The general population also has people who have structural differences like deviated septum. This really decreases your ability to perceive odor.

Okay so two paragraphs later, what’s my point? My point is everyone perceives aroma and flavor with differing levels of sensitivity. That makes this product difficult to market, and the AirUp company have made really broad claims on how EVERYONE will experience this sensation. Also!!! Aroma and flavor is extremely hard to capture in a pod such as that, and that’s part of the reason why many people experience the β€œvomit” aroma/flavor. Aroma composition is crazy complex, and by producing such complex flavor pods, the aromas will definitely get muddled and interact in odd ways.

Thank you for making this video because I’ve been wondering for MONTHS about this company and actual consumer opinions. What you’ve showed us a lack of sensory consumer testing before launching of this product, and it’s been supported by the comments saying it worked for 2/10 who tried it.
