Different orgs will have different goals and environment setups, it's not uncommon for orgs to have a mixture of Windows, Linux, Cloud, and on-prem. There are no hard and fast rules about what's goign to be in scope on an engagment.

according to said person he was not allowed to test some parts of the inner bank systems including the vault as that was apparently broken out to another pentesting team to help keep the bank secure from a single person knowing a 100% complete exploit path

if you wish for simple things like mine then LP4 or x1 from xtool.eu. just LP4 is not strong to make like 3d coins and so. If wish spend bit more money then some fibre laser of 30w or so 🙂

LP4 have 2w IR. the 30w ones can do bit harder jobs

I think primarily I'd be using it to small scale engraving, maybe get a bunch of stanley or yeti water bottles and re-sell with engraving at artisan and farmers markets
