Remember aswell - The IP address on the VERY top of the screen is YOUR IP address. Any addresses for a challenge will appear in a smaller box after you click 'Start Machine' and will have a countdown of a minute before displaying it

as far as shadow is concerned 2fa solutions on desktop is just fine

as then said computer is the thingy you have

then again authy is terrible for trying to lock you into their infrastructure

keepassxc can handle storing 2fa codes on desktop

also if you want a mobile phone app that works on android for 2fa codes shadow would recommend aegis authenticator

free and open source and has sane backup options to encrypted files

also you can copy the "seeds" from it if you want when you want

I don't think it's a desktop problem - i use a 3rd party 2FA generator specifically to separate factors. I don't use my password manager as a TOTP or HOTP for that reason.

always always download the recovery codes and keep them in a sane cold storage method

where do you see the authy desktop EOL announcement? it's not on the authy homepage or blog
