mossy river
# bleak dagger haha salty cause you dont get it.... (i dont either :/)

In German there's a joke/ example commonly used to explain cases.
"Cases" are used to dictate how the order of a sentence should be.

For example, in the "Accusative Case" is used to indicate the direct object of a sentence.
To indicate this, you have different forms of words.

"the" in German is "die", "der" or "das", but in accusative form, the masculine "der" becomes "den".

This means that you can have a sentence, "Der Hund beißt den Mann" (the dog bites the man" and you can change it to "Den Mann beißt der Hund" and the sentence means the exact same thing "the dog bites the man".

My joke was that I flipped it around and said "the man bites the dog", then added commentary to further the humour.
Hope this helps πŸ™‚

mossy river
rapid merlin
devout palm
mossy river
devout palm
#

In German, the order doesn't matter?

mossy river
#

It does matter, yes.

#

You can see that "bites" doesn't move, this is because the subject has to be in the second place in a sentence

devout palm
mossy river
#

Sorry not subject, verb*

rapid merlin
mossy river
#

This changes depending on the purpose of a sentence.
For example:

  • Standard Word Order
  • Subject, Verb, Object
  • Question Word Order
  • Verb, Subject, Object
devout palm
devout palm
mossy river
#

"Der Mann beißt den Hund" means "the man bites the dog"
And "Der hund beißt den Mann" means "the dog bites the man"

What changes is the accusative case "den".
"Den" refers to the object, this is what is being affected in the sentence.

I mean, if a person already possesses such skills, this is indicative of their mental capacity and aptitude for learning. In this case, the teacher should indeed encourage and foster this type of thinking and expression (especially if it involves well-designed assembly code). Beautiful assembly code is difficult and not trivial to produce. If I were a teacher, I would try 100% to understand why this person sent me this code and how he or she learned it. Tutors can be effective because they're able to dynamically shift focus based on what you're specifically struggling with. Where as a class or seminar has to target the lowest common denominator.

I did some tutoring for... 8 I think, of my classmates in network and systems security course I took in college back in '08
I got a lot of out of that arrangement; because it gave me an opportunity to understand some other perspectives on the materials, so I had to gain an even better understanding to break down the parts that seemed intuitive to me.

These days, if I'm looking for more specific information, I tend to ask a GPT if I have some baseline understanding already, because I can generally figure out/test the quality of the responses while learning the bit I'm missing, but you can't trust a GPT fully.

Canada is good, but has its issues, one of its biggest is a growing number of people trying to emulate 'murica.
On the disability front, it's a mixed bag.
ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program), is attrocious.
Won't cover even half of what it costs to rent an apt somewhere that you have access to all of the auxiliary support programs that make life more liveable.
Net worth cap of $5000 or lose access to program.
If you get married to an able person, you lose access to the program and are essentially their property and problem in the eyes of the law.
If you live in a space with "the opposite sex" you will be regularly accosted that you're in a relationship, and are going to lose disability, you have to periodically sign a letter that states you are not in an exclusive sexual relationship with the person. (If your relationship isn't exclusive, then the common law marriage laws are harder to apply against you. Of course if they are actually just a roommate, common law marriage laws don't apply, but they'll still try to get out of their obligations this way.)

Yep, and there's always the question of intent vs. application. Though you always have to assume that if reprehensible application is involved, that was someone's intent.

Anyway yeah, my ex is on disability program, I navigated that system with them for a number of years.
And this Saturday I'm helping a disabled (wheelchair bound) highschool friend of mine pack up because they're moving to Germany. In my experience they're not.
In the tech centre I see them all of the time in the GTA, they do well, then they sell, yes usually to an American company, but it's not a reason to go there.
My parents have lived there for some 20years, greencards the whole bit.
They're looking at moving back up here now because they do not like the way things down there are going.

rapid merlin
rapid merlin
split compass
split compass
rapid merlin

The average startup often doesn't continue due to policies, heavy taxes imposed on them, and a government that appears indifferent to its people's needs. Comparatively, economically and in terms of work opportunities, the USA outshines other places assuming you're reasonably competent. In the US, you can promptly access medical care if you're willing to pay, and it's not excessively expensive.

#

Startups are literally opening every single day, and the harder you work economically, the more you are rewarded, quite literally.

#

The richer you get in Canada, the more you are taxed and urged to remain at a certain level (even with moderate salaries). Consider being taxed at 40-50% and still encountering healthcare issues.
