Hello, I'm having a little issue with https://tryhackme.com/room/ssrfqi the SSRF room in JPT path. for task 2 when I get to the end if I make too many bad requests the data at the bottom on what site was requested stops updating. To reproduce this all you have to do is go to the end of task 2. change the "item" part of the url to ../flag, press enter three times. attempt to change the url again. From that you will see that it does not change

Keep in mind, everytime your regenerate the config file and download it, the previous config file will not work anymore. But the config file is not having a filesize of 0, right? Ye I would go ahead and try some of the other regions if they work. As you already emailed support they might get back to you about it.

Mh, don't know why that's happening for you. If I start such a target machine it's working pretty fine. Maybe it has something to do with the VPN setting on the access page. Maybe try to change the VPN server to a different region (even tho you don't use the VPN). Other than that you might have to send an email to the support.

If you restarted the machine it will take about a minute to boot. The attackbox normally does too. You may also have to select "show split view"

Is anybody else having problems with machines in rooms going offline without warning? I was working on Linux PrivEsc and I had a machine just drop me off SSH and not let me back on. I thought it was something I did so I tried restarting the machine and had the same issue. Moved onto another room and am having the same problem again. It seems intermittent; if I wait long enough the machine will start responding to pings etc. again

I goofed a room anyways. Needed to crack a password and reuse it to privesc.. I used injection to get admin on the site and changed the password. Now if I query mysql it gives me the unhashed password that I changed it to, and that doesn't work.

Had to look up the room because I thought something was up.. Actually, might wanna report it. Ill have to snoop around the box more before saying anything tho.

Not 100% sure if there is another way in, or if you break it if you change the original admin password before escalating the shell

I tried to install the radeon crimson software for my AMD Radeon HD 7570M and it showed that the installation was successful. But after I rebooted, some of the programs which use the gpu acceleration feature had been opening up to a white screen. The buttons inside the program works, but I cannot see anything except a blank screen. Hello. I am doing the Web Fundamentals pathway > Vulnerabilities > Authenticate > Task 4 (JSON Web Token). I was able to follow the steps to sign in with user 1 and then change the web token to gain access to user 2. However, every time that I try to change the identity to any other thing besides one and two I get the following error: "Internal Server Error. The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application." I have been on this one task for a few days now and I can't find anything to get it to work. I've changed the identity to 3, 4, and admin. All of them give this error. Am I just picking the wrong number or is something else going on here?

But check if you only have a tun0 interface and not like extra tun1, tun2 etc. Also ping is not very reliable to verify if a machine is up, as some machines simply don't reply to a ping, even if they are up. hey can someone help me with my ftp-connection? Always im trying to acces CTF-machines via ftp and using "anonymous", im getting a "ftp: connect: connection timed out" on passive mode when i try to list the directory content. I dont know why, I checked the firewall rules for the machine I listen on etc. I did get it done twice to list the files, so more random. When i tried a "get" after that, i get the connection timed out again. 😦

nevermind i got it, i tried to change to passive mode, as a previous fix, but after updating my firewall settings, i idid not try the active mode again. Now it works!

Hi everyone, I have been trying to connect to machines in the rooms "RootMe" and "Lazy Admin". I have my attackbox open and open a terminal and attempt to connect by putting ssh tryhackme@activemachineIP (the IP address in the deployable machine for each room) and using password "tryhackme" and it is not connecting. What am I missing here or doing wrong? Should I put the IP address in the browser within the attack box?

Trouble with VPN

something is a bit odd around the vpn connect. I use openvpn with htb and it works fine from the frst time. I am, however, having a little trouble connecting with openvpn for try hack me.. It takes a while and when it does ( couple of times only ) connect it showed two tunneling interfaces which led me to kill the process and restart... which was a bit odd

any clue what's happening here... It's not working as of now..

Try EU regular maybe, also make sure to regenerate the config file after changing server. Also wait 2+ mins before trying to download the file after you regenerated it. As far as I know the EU VIP servers are having some issues with generating the config file correctly lately, so therefore picking another server will most probably solve that issue.

This happens for a few reasons, such as:

  • Country blocks OpenVPN
  • You’re on WiFi that blocks a certain port we use
  • Your Firewall is blocking that port
  • Your ISP is blocking the traffic from getting to our server

Hey, I just started usin tryhackme yesterday and now when i try to start a room i connect via openvpn and start machine and it says that rooms ip will show after one minute but it freezes on shown in 00s and nothing happens and in access page it says i am not connected but i can ping 10.10.10.10 fine and when i reload room it wants me to start machine again but this time it says i have this already running and need to terminate it first but i can't terminate it anywhre because the ip bar doesn't pop up until like 1h after session is dead automatically. Im new to this so any help?

I have tried the RDP connection in the Windows Privesc room on three separate occasions with both XfreeRDP and Remmina with the same result, it drops the connection after one to two minutes. I have also during these occasions terminated and started the VM in the room several times. I noticed that the license for the windows server is expired, could that be a problem? I would be very grateful if you could try and see if you can get a stable RDP-connection to the VM in the room. If you do then the problem is probably on my side, if you experience the same problems as me, then there is probably something wrong with the VM in the room.
