Still having issues with openvpn. Looks like it's connecting just fine, I can pull up 10.10.10.10, but the troubleshooting script says Something went wrong and I can't seem to reach any boxes in any room that I've tried. Hi everyone I seem to be having trouble connecting to ssh on machines.

Yes I've done the following
• Generate ssh key/pair
• Started openvpn and connected
• Started the machine

I can access the other protocols like HTTP but no luck for ssh

Here's what the end of the verbose output says

Having bit of trouble with the Wreath OpenVPN file... Seems to be downloading a HTML 404 error page instead of the wreath ovpn file

Reset progress, left and rejoined Wreath and regenerated the file several times, still the same.

I left, cleared progress and switched it off for a while. Reconnected and was popped into 10.200.84.200
Was able to regenerate and use the new vpn file without worries. Currently connected and able to ping that host

I had previously disconnected, reconnected, cleared cache/cookies etc, flushed DNS and it was still trying connecting to the .71 system and the vpn download button was getting either404/502 or downloading a 404 file

I'm guessing it was a cacheing symptom

Quite possibly my system had cached something relating to the first time I joined the room and didn't release it correctly after the timer expired so was trying to interact with a network that it had no access to or didn't even exist

do a cat on the ovpn file, or open it in your favorite text editor. Does it look like html? If so, you didn't download the vpn config file- try re-downloading it

I've seen some other people have similar issues, but I don't know what the root problem is or how to fix it. All I can suggest is to try re-downloading the vpn file for the network. If it still fails to download correctly, maybe try leaving the room and re-joining, then download again. Or switch to a different region and download

Hey guys, I’ve been recommended to come here by the troubleshooting script for openvpn as you can see. Here’s what’s going on:

Basically, the connection to the machine seems very slow. It started with a ton of nmap issues. I decided to try to ping the ip, and it worked, but takes anywhere from 6 to 30 seconds to start receiving packages, but once it starts it is consistent and there is no more loss. So that’s why nmap wasn’t working (the pings were timing out). On top of this, my internet is very fast (about 850 download and 770 upload).

If anyone knows any information that might help, I would greatly appreciate it. I am running Ubuntu 20.04 btw. Thanks in advance! Also, let me know if you need any more information about computer performance.

If it still fails a couple of times still try and see what happens when you switch VIP servers, a similar problem happened to me a while ago and it took a couple of switches to finally work

It can't be that simple to throw it all away, i worked my brains off 5 hours a day for 35 days to get it and now its going to dump everything away for just a simple name? They at least should give a preview on how the certificate is going to be and look like, also give a warning of what is going to print out in the first place (the username), or even requires the full name once you create your account. In my opinion (and lots more on reddit) its just ILLOGICAL to actually PUNISH someone who pays 10$ every month, learns a butt full of things and tries hard, only because he/she/everybody made a mistake (which they didn't knew) over some name. I am not mad or anything but i don't know either to be happy because i got the certificate or be sad because it's worthless. Hopefully you can see in what position i (and a lot more) are here, thank you!

I am a new user. Enrolled today. When I try to connect using OpneVPN, connection is successfully established. I can open http://ip-address of the remote tryhackme computer on which I will be testing.
My query is that while connected to your vpn, I have found out that general internet connection, rest of the internet websites like Google etc, do not open.

Why has my student email address that was once showing as being a student email address and eligible for the discount. No longer showing as a student email address. I've been having issues with extending the machine timer for the target box in these rooms. My AttackBox extends without issue, but when trying to extend the target machine timer, it shows that it extends and confirms with a green message on the webpage, but it will still expire at the time given before I did the extension. This has happened twice. I'm trying to do what I can on my end to troubleshoot, I haven't had any adblockers running when this happened.

For the target machine I am unsure if it is running Windows. I do know that this most recent incident, it was the target nsf2 in Network Services 2 room ( https://tryhackme.com/room/networkservices2 ).

It is expiring, the message that closes it out says that it expired. It's only the target machine that expires, my AttackBox works just fine with extending the timer.

re: OWASP Juice Shop, Task4 : Brute forcing the admin's password via Burpsuite. I attempted this with the Community free edition of Burpsuite but TRYHACKME's server expired before I got a hit. What is the workaround for this? For those in the know, the free edition of Burp throttles its Sniper attacks way down (by design). I was timed out after only 353 attempts over 2 hrs.
