Yes, it is.

But DO NOT use the built in VPN manager

Because as you're currently experiencing, it adds bad routes that aren't valid

Don't use Kali's VPN manager. Use the command line openvpn. The VPN manager adds 0.0.0.0 via the VPN breaking your internet connection.

hello guys. sooooo I have a little problem which is not related to any room. I have pressed ESC key a couple of times (2-3) in the attackBox and now it's acting strange 😦 The keys are not working anymore or have a weird behaviour (for example, in Sublime, pressing s key will open the Selection tab). yeah, I think I found out the problem. Im using a mac and when I try to screenshot something I have to press cmd key and somehow, the attackbox thinks I keep pressing it. It works properly if I keep spamming the cmd key a couple of times 😏

Hey! THM neophyte here. In the intro to networking room, task 5 (wireshark) has a .pcap file - what is the recommended way to get this onto the browser based AttackMachine? The only thing I can think of is to login again to THM on the attackmachine and download from there, but I wonder if there is a simpler way I am missing...

Sup guys! Instead of searching through forums and all the headache. I wanted to know what Linux Distro could be good for, extreme privacy (Basically like Tails OS or Kadachi OS), but something that i could install on my hard drive. Followed by Manjaro and Windows 10 (I know still with Windows 10 sadly, cause i can't do a KVM and GPU passthrough). and as a daily OS for chillin' and playin' some games. This is the MTU fix:

With `ip` : sudo ip link set dev tun0 mtu 1200

It is hard to know whether it will work or not because your issue may have a few causes.

I tried the one on the side in the room I guess and 10.10.10.10 and maybe a few others by mistake. I hope that won't cause any problems. If you are receiving a 404 error after attempting to download the OpenVPN Configuration file please try these steps:

• Press regenerate, wait 2 minutes and then try downloading again

• Change VPN server and try downloading again

• Log out of your account and log back in.

Hey, I have a problem with my openvpn conncetion. I used the thm-troubleshhoting, but i get the error: "Something went wrong -- please ask for further assistance in the TryHackMe Discord server"

I get error only with the EU-Regular1, with the US-East it works fine
I cant even download the .ovpn file from the EU-Regular2, i get a 404 error

It's slow because it is waiting for responses on every port. Even ones that don't respond to pings. I personally use the nmapautomator for recon makes it way simpler when doing scans at least for me cause I am noob.

The browser-based machine is an optional machine for users who are unable to use their own machines to complete the tasks. The AttackBox is already on the network so if you are using it, you do not need the VPN. However, on rooms instead of using your tun0 for reverse shell etc., you would use your eth0.

If you are using your home computer or work computer to complete TryHackMe, you will need OpenVPN to complete machines on the network. With premium, you get VIP VPN servers which are faster and less congested.

As you can see on the screenshot, the blue arrow points to a little symbol. This indicates which task has the machine you are using for the room on and the red arrow points to a "Start Machine" button which starts said Machine.

After pressing "Start Machine", this will appear which contains all the information you require e.g. Machine IP and expiry time.

#

If you are having problems with OpenVPN, screenshot the output from running the command and send it here, someone will troubleshoot your issue:)

Wheras the streaks is only counted by answering a question in a public room (:

Currently, burp is trying to intercept requests to all sites

You might need to turn intercept off anyway, so that it doesn't hold the requests to wait for your approval

Hey, right now I'm doing the Cryptography room and the john the ripper 'room'. When I'm trying to use zip2john in this instance and I do this command 'zip2john secure.zip > zip_hash.txt' (I've tried with sudo as well), but then it says 'zsh: permission denied: zip_hash.txt'. This always seem to happen when I use ' > [new .txt file] '. It said 'zsh: permission denied' when I did an earlier task when I used the command 'echo passwd.txt > local_passwd.txt' or something like that. Does anyone know how to fix the zsh permission denied issue?

All the files I've used have been in the same directory which i created myself called '/usr/share/hashes' maybe that's the problem..?

Hey, I just started the room "Sysinternals", unfortunately, when attempting to RDP into the machine as per instructions, I get error "Failed to connect, CredSSP required by server". I have a question about openvpn. I have been studying in tryhackme like for a month now and suddendly I cannot connect to virtual machines used in rooms with my kali running inside vmware. I havent changed anything (I think) and earlier today it worked but not now. I have regenerated new configuration file but that doesnt help either. Any suggestions? :/
