For all users enquiring about the streak system:
As of 20/12/2020, there are two systems in place.

If you have correctly set your timezone on your account, your streak should reset every single day at 00:00 (Midnight). This means you must answer a question before midnight every day in order to maintain your streak - to be safe, try to answer two questions which require answers to be inputted.

If you have not yet set a timezone on your account, there is a chance you are using the old system. This means that your streak will reset everyday 24 hours after your last question answered. For example, if you answer a question at 2pm on Monday, you need to answer one before 2pm on Tuesday.

If your streak has disappeared and you have answered a question before the time of expiry/ there is an issue with your streak please email support: support@tryhackme.com

You're unable to use OpenVPN then as your country blocks it. I'd suggest using your free hour of the Attack Box in order to communicate with the TryHackMe machines.

I have experienced the same issue that “zouvier”. The connection is lagging and sometimes I keep being disconnected from target machines when remotely connected to them ( windows target) or when trying to access some of the websites for some of the rooms.

It's a known bug with the timer. The countdown only takes into account the first hour even if you have more hours left

Hello i need some help here
im trying to share some files from windows to linux. Windows side is ready with the files i want to share in a folder. Ubuntu's side is kinda ready all i need to do is type the command sudo mount.cifs -v -o username=myusername //myip/Share /media/testing.
whenever i type it it tells me to enter the password of the windows user and i type it (its the password of the microsoft account).
and then i get an error: mount error(13): Permission denied
the password is 100% correct since im tried using it to log into the microsoft account and it worked.

A friend of mine has the same problem. We tried Pickle Rick and Overpass and both webservers took him really long to load. In some cases he coulndt load the website at all. We already tried the VPN troubleshoot script you provide but it didnt help either. It said everything was alright

Hello🖐️I have a question regarding AOC2 Day 19's Task. The IP I am getting after deploying the target machine is hosting The "Nice or Naughty list" website on port 80. So what computer is localhost pointing to? If it is pointing/refering to the same machine (which I assume it is not), how is it returning a different response when I am accessing it using the Proxy param rather than returning the same page as a response?

I am in Linux: Local Enumeration and whenever I try to do the reverse shell, the VM goes down. Stops responding to pings for about 3-4 minutes before coming back and repeating process

Sounds more like a VPN issue, nobody has reported this before

I’ll report it to the THM Staff but in the mean time please try these steps:

• Run the VPNSCRIPT to try and highlight any possible issues

• Switch VPN Servers

• Try other machines

• Make sure you have a stable internet connection

it's probably an openvpn issue but i can't find the solution anywhere. whenever i try to connect to the openvpn server i get this after 60 seconds. i am using a kali linux vm. using network in bridged mode, but other options seem to have the same effect. i am able to use the internet but connecting openvpn gives me this in console.

Hey, I'm having that problem TLS handshake fail . As per post in pins, I've followed the steps the best I can, software firewell exception , checked router config page,
changed proto udp -> proto tcp ; read it in a post some cheap routers don't handle udp packets properly or smth. What else I can try / check?
when changed to tcp, it gave a failed error msg, ends with unkown reasons so changed config back to udp

As nothing seems to have been massively reported about these I will provide a few steps for you to carry out and do some self trouble-shooting. While you are doing that, I'll ask one of our wonderful room-testers/ community volunteers to see if there is an issue with the room (if not, I will carry this out myself).

Please try the following:

Run the VPN script,

Change VPN servers,

Try performing the tasks in the attackbox,

Make sure you are not just pinging the machines (they may not respond to pings) try other things like nmap scans with the flag -Pn,

Deploy other rooms to make sure they are working.

If it has to do with traffic, then I can try to arrange my schedule for when there is less traffic. If a problem to specific rooms, then I can try other rooms till the issue is resolve. this vpn creates a tunnel to connect you to the tryhackme network, the tun0 ip is the ip that you use to communicate with tryhackme, the LHOST is the local host, in a reverse shell for an example the machine needs to know where you are, in this case the machine in tryhackme network will know where you are with that tun0 ip

howdy, i got a problem with building a room running a dockerized application. locally just running in a vbox its running fine, as soon as the machine was uploaded to thm, it does not work anymore. the docker logs say: "osError: [Errno 99] Cannot assign requested address". i wrote to the thm support mail, and support advised me to ask for technical adive here. many thanks in advance 🙂

hm i dont think so, since i created the container before saving and uploading the ova with the docker flags like so: "-p 8161:8161 -p 1883:1883"
