Is there anyway around the timezone issue as far as hacking streaks go? I've been doing the AoC challenges every day but because I did Day 11 in the morning (my time) and Day 12 in the afternoon, my dashboard shows 0 questions answered on the 12th and 16 on the 13th. Is there issues with cert generation specifically on the EU boxes(EU-Regular-1 and 2) ? I have noticed that on all of the other servers US/AU, the full ovpn config is generated, including the <cert></cert> section, but when trying to do the same on the EU servers, the servers for some reason fail to thegenerate the content in the <cert></cert> section which makes the connection fail with a issue about loading the cert inline etc etc.

My approach to changing servers etc differes in no way between the various regions and i was wondering if it was something specific to the servers hosted in the eu region.

Hi, after the adjustment of the Complete Beginner Path the LLE Playground shows 0% but I already anserwered all questions before the adjustement of the path. All Task are ticked and no open questions are shown but the Room itself shows 0%.

Let me correct myself, I believe some of the content is new an I didnt went through the room, however all the tasks are showing green and ticked and no questions are shown. Hope that explains the situation better. Thanks a lot in advance

I'm sorry for asking for the same help once again, but none of the methods that were told here work for me.
Just to be sure: 1) I regenerated the file and waited 60 sec and tried to use it - didn't work
2) I did setup the time to my region - didn't help
3) Internet connection is good
4) I can connect to openvpn from hack the box.

I've never encountered a single issue on THM's box and I've been subscribed and using it everyday for a little more than a couple weeks now, you don't need to be on VPN to use the in-browser machine

I'm stumped. I can't get hashcat to run on my system. I'm currently virtualizing using VMware, and when I attempt to init it says 'Illegal instruction' , I tried to solve it by attempting to run it on my own hardware and that also didn't work, this time telling me my GPU is incompatible (RX 590 AMD). I want to complete the kerberos room and I can't if I can't hash the hashes I gather. Please help.

oh, task 1 has a deploy button to open the linux terminal so you can follow along with the program. Mine won't open, I've opened and terminated it like 10+ times and waited 5 mins+ multiple times to let it load

Hello! I'm trying to get VPN working on my Kali 2020.4 VM on VMWare. I ran the thm-troubleshoot a couple times. Weird part is once Kali tells me I'm supposedly "connected" with the pop-up notification I no longer have any internet access. Once I disconnect from the VPN I get my internet back and THM Access page says I'm connected to the VPN and gives me an internal IP address...even though I'm not

Top is trying the script after I'm supposedly "connected" per Kali notification. Bottom is after I've disconnected from VPN.

THM access details page has fixed itself and is now correctly saying I'm not connected

I just confirmed that I can still connect via my normal OS + VPN, it's just looking like a Kali/VM issue

Question: what is the best way to run kali linux? I tried virtualbox as I have it but it freezes at the logo. I have heard usb live with persistence is best but also running a raspberry pi is good then saw vmware as an option. I'm trying to keep the cost down as much as possible. I tried using the linux on tryhackme following the commands john used and they would not work. I was thinking using my own I can update it with whatever tools I need or want to use.

su is for switching your user on your local machine, sudo is for running as an administrator

Is your firewall blocking anything?
Is ssh working correctly?
What IP Address are you supplying?
Have you pressed deploy in the linux fundamentals room, not in any other room?
Are you connected to the VPN?

Does anyone know what the exact requirements are for an OVA VM upload? Had errors during conversion after upload for a Windows 10 VM that I've been trying to upload. The VM was built as a Gen 2 Hyper-V host, was converted to a VMDK, and was then imported to VirtualBox so that I could export it as a version 1 OVA.

Hello! I'm having an issue with the Network Services machine, specifically task 6 for enumerating Telnet. I am trying to run the nmap scan as:

Hey what's up! I'm having trouble maintaining an ssh connection. It was freezing and hanging on me so I switched from EU-Regular-1 to US-East-Regular-1 and now I can't connect at all. I'm trying to ssh in with both WSL Kali and regular Kali on another machine, both with the regenerated openvpn configuration file (thm confirms this with the green IP/connected bubble, and I can ping the room's deployed machine). But something like "ssh name@x.x.x.x" gives no stdout for maybe 30 seconds until it gives "Connection closed by 10.10.100.135 port 22"

I was passing all of the checks on the troubleshooting script, but the issue resolved when I killall-ed openvpn. Maybe there was something leftover from a previous openvpn config file? Who knows. Thanks again

EU1 is the way to go the last few days, EU2 isn't working for me either.

Maybe not the best place for this question, but I don't know where else to put it. I've been noticing that bruteforcing is horribly slow for me, no matter what tool or server/box I attack. I know bruteforcing is slow in general, but 2 requests per second with Burp's Turbo Intruder seems pretty off to me (4 cores assigned to my VM, full broadband at 500MB/down). Are there any settings in my router that could hold back bruteforce attacks (or any attack in general that sends a lot of requests)?

Iirc inoculation was one of zayotics machines and they pulled some of their own machines recently who knows why. If you still want to go through it there's a vulnhub ova still there
