A few days later I wanted to use my laptop and I had the same issue, I was not allowed to log in, but I knew my password was correct. I had to reset my password. 24 hours later, I'm on my desktop and I can't log in at all. I'm not receiving a link when I request a password reset.

Errors like this occur when my router has a full cache.
But a workaround is Ctrl + C and run again the command.. And it works like a charm 🤷‍♂️

Guys I have a question/issue. Nmap scans suddenly only return all ports are filtered. I never had this problem before. I used -Pn flag and no script scans (just basic port scanning). Hey I currently have problems concerning my vpn and retrieving html from deployed machines. Somehow when I connect to vpn and deploy for instance https://tryhackme.com/room/owaspjuiceshop and try to open the deployed machine in my webbrower it loads forever.

I tried different vpns, different machines and different OSs. Nothing worked. I restarted everything and so on.

When I deploy the attack box, it works perfectly well. Does anybody experience this as well currently or has an idea on how to fix that?

The ~ is essentially /home/[currentuser] or the home dir if it's configured somewhere else. Downloading as one user and running it as root makes the directories whack up.

I'm working on the Vulnversity room. Trying to browse to uploaded file, but keep getting a message "WARNING: Failed to daemonise. This is quite common and not fatal. Connection timed out (110)"

@potent current The VPN puts you on to the network with the vulnerable VMs that you can deploy in rooms.

The VPN does not route your internet traffic, because that would be a) expensive for aws and b) a privacy issue

The VPNs you have been exposed to so far are things like Nord or Proton that are anonymising VPNs

The TryHackMe VPN is like a company's VPN, it's a remote access VPN

The attackbox is a substitute for using your own machine

You can create your own Kali Linux VM and use that. Run the VPN directly in the VM. Then you can save files etc and don't have the usage limits.

I am in the Nessus room working on Task 4, regarding actually starting the scan. I have been able to configure the proper scan details and I am connected to the VPN. However, the scan only ends up taking a few seconds before completing and shows no results.

That room's "clone" feature has been turned off because of it's specaility and other sorts. Rooms that have the clone option you're more then welcome to clone to use in workshops/classes - things of that nature

Can someone help me start THM? I've tried doing the first challenge to connect with the IP but I'm using a kalibox and am not able to connect. I then when to download OpenVPN and set that up but when running "sudo openvpn /path/to/file.ovpn" it gives me a failed error that "cannot load inline certficate file"
I get two errors when running

1. Failed to fetch kali.org/kali/pool/main/o/openvpn/openvpm
2. Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with--fix-missing

You can search through https://tryhackme.com/hacktivities and find rooms on topics you like, if you are not sure, just sort rooms with Walkthrough and start doing them, sort them to free also if you are not subbed. You'll eventually know what do you want to continue with. You can start with some easy rooms as well or you can follow the Free Path Blog

basically @vernal ruin i use this command to fix my mss thing with ssh, cuz at first it just freezes upon connection
ip li set mtu 1200 dev eth0
Then when i input a large command into ssh for example find name with grep piped to it (so its not long)
it just freezes
