I should caveat that I am using the THM attack box. If I generate an x64 shell (not meterpreter) and upload it and execute it freezes. If I try and upload a well known priv esc that's related to the privileges (don't want to give the game away) it fails to execute, then freezes. I have even tried mimicking the walk through (I hated having to do this) and I had the same issue.

If you are using the TryHackMe VMs and you are recieving an "Authentication Failure" error, please follow these steps:
- Terminate the attack box
- Load one of the Kali VMs and terminate it once it has loaded,
- Boot the attack box up again :)

The way that streaks work are they are 24 hours from the last time you answered a question
Each time you answer a question, the timer will reset to 24 hours

Hey all im having real issues with rooms which have RCE tasks, I couldnt do the OWASP Top Ten day 8, and currently doing Vulniversity task 4 I have a feeling there's something weird with my IP, my VM Ifconfig and OpenVPN report it as 10.8.0.7 but if I browse to 10.10.10.10 (as instructed by the vulniversity room) I get 10.0.0.20 I have tried both IP's in the PHTML script and netcat isnt seeing the connection also, tried changing the ports. anyone any ideas

Ive been having trouble SSH into the Learn Linux server, I just needed a quick refresher course sense I hadn't used it in a long time, I've been able to log into it once from my home network, but I'm on the road using mobile hotspot to pass the time before my flight I'm using openvpn I've varafied I'm connected to the network, I can ping the deployed system but whenever I try to ssh in it times out and connection is closed by the server machine any thoughts?

Okay i'm getting frustrated. I'm doing the box Relevant and every 1/2 minutes all the ports go filtered and cant connect to the box. I restarted the VPN + the box a couple times. Anyone has any idea? Perhaps consider using a different tool to enumerate which ports are open (like Rustscan or threader3000) and then feed those open ports into nmap

ive been doing the gaming server box on tryhackme. i use a virtual box running kali on a windows 10. i run the openvpn profile on my windows. so im able to access my machine through the kali box. but if i run my openvpn on my kali box the vpn says its connected but im not able to ssh into the tryhackme machine or sometimes upload files and sometimes im not able to get a reverse shell.
can you guys tell me why this is happening?

Strange, I've just tested on that version and I'm not having the same issue.
Its strange how TryHackMe is split in the middle, and the browser-based Kali machine surrounds it.

Maybe it had to do with an machine expiring. I normally dont have any problems with chromium. I guess I will provide some feedback on the task design, it might be better for people on smaller screens.
And yes, I also got that one time, with the machine surrounding the task.

Too be honest I havent tried. As I said I didnt enable splitscreen myself (and don't know how to), it just popped up out of nowhere and suddenly my task design was changed too. I always have one windows with the VM, one with tasks, and one with a browsers open on another screen so there is no need for me to use splitscreen.

Like the split screen is like a mess right now it's totally unresponsive for me (White screen mostly) And when i try to copy something big from my host pc to my browser based VM it becomes unresponsive(The browser Based Machine) and a lot of time i lost my data..

At first, when you deploy the AttackBox, the rooms screen splits ok. Its 50% the room and 50% the attackbox.

If you are using the TryHackMe VMs and you are recieving an "Authentication Failure" error, please follow these steps:
- Terminate the attack box
- Load one of the Kali VMs and terminate it once it has loaded,
- Boot the attack box up again :)

Seems I'm having problems with routing in my THM virtual machine. This seems to happen every time my first hour is up. quick question I keep trying to upload various vms to allow my students to work on them but I keep getting errors on the conversion, I check the distro etc can you please shine a light on what I'm doing wrong? are there other parameters I'm not seeing?
@bleak zephyr from what i know, the only thing you need to do is following the AWS conversion requirements https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vm-import/latest/userguide/vmie_prereqs.html
