Check when you run msfconsole, it shows this?

If yes that means there is no database created for msfconsole just exit the terminal and open metasploit-framework(from side bar or Menu)
It will ask for sudo password and will start the database. In the future whenver you run msfconsole on terminal it will work perfectly fine.

When in any other room but Kali, the clipboard is not shared between the VM in the room and my computer, essentially, I have one clipboard that only functions is the machine itself in the room, so I can can't copy paste flags from it, and my regular computer clipboard. Firefox has no explicit option to allow clipboard access it seems, but I have the same issue in Chrome even though I've explicitly allowed tryhackme.com access to my clipboard.

For the linuxctf room flag32 requires you to play an mp3. I'm using the kali VM room and I got the file, but I can't get audio to work on the VM. Is it expected to work after spinning up the VM or is more configuration needed?

Ubuntu is one of the most stable Linux operating systems to just install and start using without dealing with as many driver and compatibility issues as you will find in other distro's.

Both Kali and Ubuntu are based on the Debian operating system, Kali acts as a distribution that is pre-installed with a custom graphical layout and 100's of tools for performing penetration testing, whereas Ubuntu will not come pre-installed with these tools, you will have to manually install any tools you wish to use, but almost every tool on Kali can be installed on Ubuntu.

Personally I use ParrotOS for sites like THM and HTB as I find it's more stable and closer to a base debian system than Kali, along with default sandboxing and other perks, but it's down to personal preference at the end of the day, try all of them and use whatever you're most comfortable with, sometimes it's best to try finding out why these tools work and writing your own than relying solely on the "tool's magic abilities to get things done"

one dumb question. When running Python exploit I get "No module named requests" error. I googled it and people suggest installing it by apt-get install python-requests. But if I run this I get "Unable to locate package python-requests". Is there any repository I should put in /etc/apt/sources.list that I couldn't find?
