I was just having the same trouble, I restarted the target like 4 times but the last time I waited for 5+ minuted for it to boot up and then it worked. I was ready to give up to be honest. Also, make sure the browser is not serving you the cashed page, use ctrl+shift+R to reload

Hey everyone! I have a question about the Pre-Security Path (2026 Revamp).

I noticed that in the 2025 version, rooms like 'Intro to Cyber' were the absolute start of the path. But in the current February 2026 roadmap, I'm now at Module 4 ('Inside a Computer System'), yet the text inside the room still says 'Welcome to the first room'.

Is this just a leftover text from the old version before the 3 new intro modules were added? It’s a bit confusing for my focus/ADHD when the module numbers and room descriptions don't match up. Just wanted to double-check if I'm on the right track! Thanks!

Issue: Machine IPs web pages not loading, after 30 seconds, http changes to https. Nmap and ssh both work on that ip. I am also unable to load 10.10.10.10 that also is redirected to https://10.10.10.10/.

Things tried:
I can curl -v any home http website ie only IP, no sub directories.
Curl stops when i try to access /login which is a legit page.
I changed and matched the MTU sizes.
I was firstly on NAT Network, it used to work, suddenly idk what happened.
Tried NAT, same issue persists. Bridged Apadter cant even connect to OVPN.

192.168.128.1 is just the VPN gateway not a real lab machine.
Its used for routing traffic inside the tunnel and its usually configured not to reply to ping
So ping failing there is normal.
What matters is that the machine IP responds that confirms the VPN is working.

Mac M4 uses ARM architecture , but many TryHackMe VMs are made for Intel x86 that’s why it doesnt work.
Use the browser based Attack box on TryHackMe , or install an ARM version of Kali using UTM instead of VirtualBox.

I usually connect to the VPN from my local Kali VM, and I did the same here. The VPN connection was successful. However, when I attempted to start the network, after waiting for it to initialize, I received the following error:
“An error occurred while trying to deploy the network, please try again later.”
Additionally, the AttackBox is greyed out/disabled for this specific room (while it works for other rooms), even though I have an active premium subscription.

Well I got it now . It is not my configuration issue. The network never successfully deploys, so there is no lab network to attach to. This is a backend deployment failure, not a client/VPN/configuration issue.

Hi! Can someone help me? I’ve been following these instructions for a while now: “Click on the Start AttackBox button at the top; click on the Start Machine button below to start the attached virtual machine (VM).”

However, whenever I click Start AttackBox and wait for it to load, then click Start Machine, the IP address in the VM is different from the target IP address. Also, instead of showing $tryhackme in the terminal, it shows root@ip.

Hi, I am having an issue connecting to a machine Anthem. I have the openvpn up (which has worked previously) on /access it tells me that I am connected however when I try to ping the machine I am attempting I can't ping it even after 20 mins wait. I have rebooted both the target and my personal machines in case something funny was going on as well as re-downloading the ovpn file. To add to this I have terminated it and tried opening up the machine Blueprint which I am able to ping just fine...

It's normal to not be able to ping windows machines on THM. I wouldn't count on that to tell if the machine is up and running. I am able to access the site on port 80 with VPN right now but it's quite slow. Hope you can get it working 🙂

Try a -Pn scan on the IP if you have it running still.

VM network then NAT or Bridged then select VPN adapter then restart VM
Test VM then ping rooms then load them

Its likely a Google SSO vs Email and Password mismatch TryHackMe treats them as separate Accounts to fix it avoid Sign in with Google use Forgot Password to set a password for your original account or open magic links in the same browser or tab where requested.

Hi, I cannot start the network on the "AD: Authenticated Enumeration" room (https://tryhackme.com/room/adauthenticatedenumeration). I've tried 4 hours ago and now again, both with Chrome and Edge. It just stays in the loading screen, I've waited 15 minutes.
A few weeks ago I did the Basic Enumeration room where starting the network worked with no problem.

I took the SEC1 exam yesterday and completed the first 6 sections, but on the final section the VM wouldn’t load after multiple attempts to restart it and 40 minutes wasted out of the 60 total for that section. I took screenshots and opened a ticket. I was advised to restart the entire exam, but I already spent several hours on it and there’s also a 2-day retake wait.

Is it possible to retake only the final section, given this was a technical issue?

When I would try to do the "Leave room" option, it would do a red toast pop-up saying that the network cannot be started, and leaving the room would fail.

Anyhoo, since replying to the email from support, I've just tried the room again and now at least it looks like it's been reset. I again have an option to Start the network. Let's see what happens if I press it again. 😂

Red Team Capstone Challenge

1. System working fine but cannot ssh into e-citizen randomly, as it wont let me type any characters in the password section anymore..
2. Tried to access capstone via the attackbox, but the attackbox has no connection to capstone and the vpn file is blank.
3. Tried resetting the server, VM, host machine, re logging into THM.. Nothing.
4. Tried attack box on another computer, same issue, zero vpn connectivity.
5. Reset the room progress and left the room, re joined, downloaded new VPN file.. zero connection on both attackbox and vm kali... VPN wont even connect now.. new or old.

Im officially locked out of the system with time running out on my assignment due date... Anyone know any options at all? Complete reset?? I need something...

I think there is a bug in "Net Sec Challenge" room. For the last question in the challenge the site running on the target machine is supposed to get the success result (which contains the flag) from the target machine through a socket connection once the challenge is cracked. But from the browser I see that the socket connection is failing. So even if I've cracked the challenge, the server wouldn't send the flag back. Could you please help validate this?

I've received a suspicious email pretending to be from tryhackme and I would like some help with it.

( For more context:
I have received an email that is different from the one that I usually get from tryhackme although it has the same logo, also the link attached is full of random letters and goes to a site that looks suspicious. I DIDN'T CLICK THE LINK! I simply copied the main website name of the link and did a simple search that resulted in mixed results ( some results say that the website is legit while others say that variants of that website have been flagged as phishing/spam ( by variants I mean sites with extra letters and dots ( example e.test. c o m instead of test. c o m ))

Feel embarrassed to share my update. I was able to resolve my issue. It was a silly mistake, I simply needed to join the room first, to activate the 'Start Machine' . Sometimes you get so hung up on complex issues, it is hard to fix the simple ones. Apologies !!! 😬
