I am having an awful time with the Red Team Capstone challenge room.

Using the virtual attack box doesn't even let me ping the servers. I have tried to reset it and the room several times and nothing works. Also, in the past I was able to leverage the downloaded laura and mohammad vpn connection to get a static route to 10.200.XXX.21 and 22.

When it was working this morning, before even pinging stopped working, I was present a static route to 172.30.5.21 and 22 ... I then couldn't vpn to this.

What is going on with this room ?

Yes, it corrected itself at the captsone vpn and then at laura's vpn level for 30 mins then dynamcally died again ... I have a shell script that is continually check this and its up and down all of the time ... when red team capstone vpn is actually working ... laura's vpn soemtime then works and soemtimes not .. when it doesn't work it gets the following static route 2025-06-07 02:45:51 net_route_v4_add: 172.32.5.21/32 via 12.100.1.1 dev [NULL] table 0 metric 1000

However, when I try to enter it into the text field, the system seems to add unwanted spaces or prevent the flag from being completed correctly. This prevents me from submitting it and thus, I cannot progress with the exercise. the option that I use is for RDP: you can either use Remote Desktop Managemement directly from the AD machine or use a RDP client (like Remmina) from your attacking machine
I would avoid mulitple RDP sessions simultaneously as I think the AD machine can only serve max 2 RDP sessions simultanesously (I think), as more RDP sessions would require a license
BTW, if you have doubts about the target VM, restart it so you work from a clean sheet

AD Lateral Movement and Pivoting room (and all the other compromising AD rooms/networks) refuse to have a stable connection, am I insane or is this an issue with the network in the rooms themselves?
I've left the room, rejoined, started a fresh attackbox in the room's context, can't even ping. If I'm lucky enough that the connection is stable enough to allow me time to get credentials from the distributor subdomain to begin whatever task I'm doing, the attackbox will just decide to randomly disconnect a few minutes later which makes the whole endeavour useless anyways.

yeah my issue is the attackbox itself losing connection very consistently - sometimes the DNS is miserably finnicky but modifying /etc/hosts and /etc/resolv-dnsmasq gets it working fairly consistently

Hey guy's getting back into THM after a few years, I'm having an issue not being able to view webpages from rooms.. I connect via openvpn and can ping the website. ip in ifconfig is match same ip displayed on 10.10.10.10 and i've also tried adding website ip to /etc/hosts folder. how ever unable to view webpage any ideas? (i've also found a thm openvpn trouble shooting script) i've ran this aswell with checks completed and stated i've been connected to thm room but still no luck

I was working yesterday and I maintained the streak. Today when I logged in at 8:15 PM to work on a room, I noticed it was reset to 0.

I wonder if you are in the wrong section in Wireshark. I noticed at the top it says Wireshark - Conversations - Exercise.pcapng. For this one, you should be looking at Endpoints.

So go to Statistics -> Endpoints, and the answer should be on that page.

The question was asking about a one-way, it was asking how many bytes were sent from a specific MAC address - which would be just one host. Endpoints are for individual devices. A conversation would be a two-way, so a question for that would be like how many bytes were sent between A and B.

Hey Team, Getting some unusual Behaviour in the OWASPTop102021 room. A handful of questions (Task20 Q1, Q2, Task 22 Q1) will not correctly submit. Upon submitting the question the page reloads, I noticed the Question number and your answer get appended to the URL Parameter (e.g ?1=localhost)
Tried with a few browsers, logged out, back in, Still experiencing the issue.
