When your openVPN connects it will show your IP in the top right-corner if that is not there then you are not connected.

So it was Virtual box that caused the issue. I use VMWare for mines. As had trouble with Virtual box on another VM years back and ditched it.

I apologize if this is the wrong thread, but I'm having connectivity issues using VMWare and OpenVPN. OpenVPN seems configured properly as I can ping the THM servers through my VM. The issue involves anything to do with reverse shells and http.server. I have an IP assigned by OpenVPN, I have the IP for my host computer, and an IP for the VM. I have tried all 3, but can never get the THM server to connect back to my VM. It attempts to connect and eventually just times out. Please help lol

The openvpn was working fine when i was using on windows or virtual box, but i switched to dual boot, and then it was even working fine on kali linux, as i am just starting out so i thought it would be better to switch to ubuntu and did that. So now on ubuntu it takes forever to connect to server , even if it connects the commands in the terminal are unresponsive . for troubleshooting i refreshed the config file and download 2,3 times, yet still couldn't solve the problem.

I get an achievement saying I’ve won the league, but then, after completing another room, it assigns me to a new league of the same category, competing for another 20 hours in a completely different instance with different people 😄. hey guys I asked this a couple days ago and got no response. The THM tempest room at the end of the SOC analyst path seems to really enjoy disconnecting me every 2 seconds any time I attempt to perform anything '''mildly expensive''' in terms of system resources (running EvtxCmd.exe, opening Wireshark etc.) - was wondering whats up with that since I can't say I'm enjoying opening up Powershell to create a .csv for the upteenth time.
I doubt its a connectivity issue on my end because I've had nowhere near this level of instability with any of the other rooms, and its definitely not a timer issue because I've only been in the room for like 5 minutes before it either crashes or disconnects me.

Doing the Shells Overview** room, the practical for this part is to exploit command injection and unrestricted file upload. Reading the past task, it hints at uploading the file and then you can navigate to the /uploads directory. But I don't have permission to go here.

I then navigate to /uploads/shell.php?cmd=whoami ls etc etc. But ls is only showing me my shell.pbp file
