Just to calm me - I am doing SAL1 right now, and finished rthe multiple choices. Then I haven't started the first sim - but the counter at the bottom half is saying "time remaining in exam". I assume it's just the timer from the multiple choice section, and not the actual time left (because then I have 10 minutes to do the rest of the exam ;) )

I am seeing some strange behaviour in the Java section of the Upload Vulnerabilities room. I checked the source and there is javascript client-side-filter.js which says that only png type images are OK. So I have a vanilla apple.png image (a real one that is nice and small). When I select that, it responds apple.png selected. All good. Now without any Burp Suite or any other interference I click upload.. and it fails. It says in the source when I right-click "No File Selected". This is strange. It seems broken.

Hey guys, just a question regarding the SAL1 exam, I failed my first attempt due to the lack of score in Section 3. Anyone know whether closing related alerts (TP) together causes the AI to get confused. I assigned similar brute force attack and then a critical alert followed which was Mimikatz execution and ransomware attack, and closed them with one report written for all of them. If I am to do the Bruteforce attack alert which caused the Credential theft individually, would it be still TP with no escalation, and I have to do one by one?

👋 Hey everyone!

I have a question about the SAL1 exam. I took it yesterday and spent quite a bit of time on Section 2, completing most of the alerts. However, when I checked my official results, I got:

💀 Score: 0 (Fail) 💀

Basically, I received zero points for that entire section, even though I worked hard on it. My overall score was 588/750, so it feels really strange to get absolutely nothing for that part.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Maybe a bug or something that causes partial progress to be ignored?

I’ve already sent a ticket to support with a screenshot, but I wanted to check if this has happened to anyone else.

Section 2 wont load at all, time run out, and exam got lost due to the error.
I opened a ticket to support @wind wedge to reset my attempt.
Im still waiting for a reply.

I have a question about the SAL1 exam scoring rules, in particular Section 2. After receiving a 0 on that section despite completing most alerts (I was short on time due to technical issues), the support team has indicated to me that the rule is: "If you omit even a single true positive alert, you will suspend the section and it will be marked as a 0. ”

I am trying to verify this information, but I cannot find where this very specific rule is officially documented. I have checked the SAL1 details page (https://tryhackme.com/certification/security-analyst-level-1/details) and the SOC Sim help article (#10508054) to no avail.

My question is: Does anyone in the community know where I could find this rule written in the official TryHackMe documentation or can confirm if this is how it works.

hi, I can't connect to a VM using kali linux. Returns an error at the password stage. Actions that were performed: 1. I started the virtual machine 2. I downloaded the OVPN file 3. I launched this file via kali linux 4. I checked the connection on the 10.10.10.10 website. (it is installed) 5. I'm trying to connect to the running machine via SSH as - ssh tryhackme@(IP_MASHINE) 6. asks for the password, and as I understand it, it is (tryhackme) It was at this point that I got stuck.

TLDR: You should not initialise the Metasploit database yourself (i.e. through msfdb init) as you would on your own install of Kali because this has been fully automated and fixed on the TryHackMe AttackBox. Hi everyone, I’m trying to set up Kali Linux on VirtualBox, but I keep running into this error when I click "Start" on the VM:

Make sure the kernel module has been loaded successfully.  
Try sc.exe query vboxdrv

I ran sc.exe query vboxdrv and got this:

The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

I already tried:

• Installing VirtualBox as administrator (from the official site)
• Rebooting after install
• Disabling Memory Integrity (Core Isolation) – it was already off
• Running repair – but it failed with a fatal error

I think the VBoxDrv driver isn't installed at all, and the drivers\vboxdrv folder doesn't even exist on my system.

Right now, I’m using Windows, and I even set aside a separate E: partition for VirtualBox files, but I haven’t moved anything yet.

Before I completely uninstall and reinstall everything again, I wanted to ask:
👉 Is there a way to manually install or restore the VBoxDrv driver?
👉 Or is full uninstall → cleanup → reinstall the only fix?

Any advice or guidance is really appreciated 🙏

I have an issue on the website, i just went on the website and checked my rooms and togled the Hide Completed Rooms first of all it show 0 Rooms joined and also all the rooms are shown , all what i already completed when I select a rooms all the tasks are with red uncompleted status and the join the room button is active, it is only for me?

and it shows also that i am level 1 which is not correct

My position on the monthly leaderboard doesn't seem right. It puts me at 1700 odd but the top 50 have earned as many points as me this month. Why is this?

e.g 350 points is 50th and I've done ~500

Is this normal? I.e bracketing or sthing?
