Possible the server side generation is not working or piping out files with correct settings, or any for that matter if these vars are not set or corrupted after maintenance

In theory this command ^^^^^ can be run on the server(s) and piped to config file per account / user and sent to regn for download

seems there might be a server side issue if the files are blank on download in three different browsers on two different devices

There are loads of config commands in that man page, though not certain which one(s) are best at this point, that was just an example ^^^^^

Right guysngals, figured it out with 30mins left for today, you need to start your remote hackerbox in the THM web interface, select us-east > regenerate > download > check populated in notepad, leafpad, vscode or whatever > if populated import. Select the US equivalent to your location if you're in the east, select west and visa versa

It works but not for EU variants at present haven't tested India / Indonesia

You probably have machine running in one of the rooms you have done previously , they won't terminate automatically when you leave the room , go back and terminate them 🙂

Can get to the VPN connection confirmation page with the flag{} on it, can connect to 10.10.10.10/whoami and get my VPN IP, but when I go to the /access page, it says Connection is Not connected, and Internal Virtual IP Address is 0.0.0.0. Am I missing something, or is that correct?

I would not use my host on the network, however if you need/want to you can use the Communities edition of Openvpn.

Hello guys, I am currently developing room for THM, I uploaded my victim VM into THM and it gives me this error: Oh no, an error occurred while starting VM: Invalid parameter value.

The "connected" this on THM is a bit bugged, doesn't really work with an openvpn connection, if you can connect to 10.10.10.10 then the openvpn connection works, you maybe just need to wait a few minutes for the target machine to start up completely.

also if you are testing the other machine with a ping, remember that not every machine will respond to a ping request so try testing with multiple rooms

Yeah , AttackBox button is present only in rooms where it's needed but if you want you can start from any room where the button is available and use it for whatever purpose you like 😄

When did you submit the ticket? THM Support was swamped with tickets due to the AoC event last December so response time was about ~5 to 8 working days, but that should lessen in the next couple of weeks. Also, did you created another ticket since your initial submission as that would cause your ticket to be pushed down the queue.

Ah , my bad 🤣 . Depends on your current directory , but it really doesn't matter if you want to reach / directory add as many ../ sequences as you want 🙂 . When you reach / directory even if you have 1000 ../ more , the filesystem can't go above / directory so it will just stay in it 🙂 . It's even recommended to add many ../ especially if you don't know where're you on the filesystem just to make sure that you will reach root directory. More ../ sequences than needed won't make any harm 🙂 .

Site Suggestion: One thing I've been running into as a free user. I get recommended certain rooms while doing others, and i find that they aren't labeled if they're premium. An easy solution to this, would be to put a $ sign next to rooms that are premium and/or color code them differently.

When I connect with VPN to Breaching AD OpenVPN says connection established but the network access page still displays no connection.

I have an IP address. I'm struggling to correctly set up DNS.

maybe the following feedback is useful: while doing the configuration, I too discovered that /etc/resolv.conf had been "reset", and my entry for nameserver had been wiped out
I can see several potential reasons:

• I think somewhere, maybe for Breaching AD, there is a comment in THM room about a reset every, roughly, three hours of DNS values on AD network(s)
• or, another user of the same network instance has wiped out my changes or invoked systemd-resolve, which would reset /etc/resolv.conf too
  One way to monitor this is to check the timestamps of /etc/resolv.conf Also, you have the possibility of hopping to another network instance (with Options > Leave) to avoid the interference by "noisy neighbors"

I'm having a weird issue with boxes today where the services are not loading up. I started the box on https://tryhackme.com/r/room/islandorchestration and the only thing that shows is SSH on port 22. I had to look up a walkthrough to find out that there are services on different ports that should be up.

I restarted the box and I saw the services start through nmap, but then they stopped again. I tried a different machine, https://tryhackme.com/r/room/forgottenimplant, and the same thing happens. Except, on this one, none of the services are loading.

Very interesting room; but I just wanted to rant about the time estimation: I don't know in which world this is estimated at "20min" for someone who is not already used to it. 😂
I sure took my time to really understand the different steps so I won't say I am a fast learner, but still.

To clarify, the machines respond when I ping them, the VPN connection works fine. After I ssh into them and execute one or two commands, the whole shell just freezes and is unresponsive.

Yeah like @grand island said don't use WSL a lot of users reported problems with WSL and VPN connection to THM network 🙂

Or Realistic Simulation having the room mimic real-world scenarios, or even Purposefully inconsistent Learning Content to push beginners to explore write-ups or forums? Just curious?
