In /r/room/networkservices2 under Exploiting NFS there's a part about SUID bit permission, but the "correct" answer seems to be with SUID and SGID bits set. I just found it confusing since there was no mention of SGID and setting SUID bit only would be chmod u+s, which doesn't leave us with permissions that result in a correct answer.

I do not believe there is a learning path made up of only free rooms, so you wouldn't be able to complete all of the rooms and therefore get the certificate without subscribing

Hello, I really need help. Volatility room.
I wanted to use that python3 vol.py -h command on attacked VM but "no such file or directory" I cannot find where it is (Not in /usr/local/lib/python3.6/dist-packages). So I decided to install volatility3 on my PC directly. It is installed properly - I know it after "pip show volatility3" response. But no command is working. I mean py , python or python3 works nor can find vol.py volatility3 or anything like this even if I changed to folder where it is located directly. And it doesn't matter if I try anywhere in system or in its python folder or in volatility3(and +\cli) folder.
How to do this tasks if I cannot use a program in which I am suppose to do this?
I tried for about an hour and I am done. If someone have any tips please respond. I have time. fOr now I am going further and will go back to take this s**t again later.

Ok, the difference this is having is because of ARP.

Since the Windows machine and the Attackbox are on the same network, ARP protocol is kicking in and taking over, since it's on the network, it knows it's online.

Where as you're on the VPN, so you you're not on the same network, you're on a different subnet with access to the machines, however ARP does not kick, so your computer doesn't know if the machine is online or not.

I've tried regenerating the config and even connecting from a totally different linux instance (wsl running kali-linux on a different computer all together), as well as running the troubleshooting script provided by THM. The latter of which gave me an error I can post if needed.

It seems odd because the openvpn instance I connect with reports a functioning connection, and I am able to reach the 10.10.10.10 test page which reports I am connected, but the Access page and all other areas of the site show me as disconnected and I cannot ping machines I spawn or interact in any other way that I have found.

Any pointers or links and advice would be greatly appreciated!

• do not rely on the the Access machines page: it is broken (#site-support message)
• there are issues with WSL (#site-support message), and you should not use it
• if you can ping 10.10.10.10, you are good
• not all machines respond to ping: which one are you trying?

Probably because you got the same tickets before. For example, you got 3 tickets for cyber crusader and you win another one of same type, it won't show.

The part where it says ticket-eligible room I assume only applies once you've reset the room as an already completed room prior to starting is non-eligible? about that roadmap, actually, I saw it like 6-8 weeks ago, shared the link with another user, who could not find it later, as the roadmap had been taken down

i have been using it forever. sometimes it budges on sites but didn't see anything wrong on thm yet. i imagine the real dark mode will be somewhat similar to the dark reader experience
