Yeah I think it's that for me - the phrase "all premium learning". I wasn't aware of the AWS modules though - was just amped to get started. I'm not 100% sure how one would phrase/change it otherwise? Are there other modules/module-groups that are add-ons or just AWS?

This takes me to Splunk, but the initial query provided by the room doesn't return anything and there doesn't appear to be any events to search at all. The room doesn't specify if there needs to be a dataset added to the Splunk instance, so I guess my question is: "What am I supposed to do?"

Hi, I’m having difficulty connecting to THM with OpenVPN on Kali Linux. I have Premium, and I’m trying to connect to US-West-VIP-1. I’ve downloaded the config files, and done sudo openvpn as the Linux tutorial states, and says “Initialization Sequence Connected” without connecting to the servers

Hey, i have this issue and still no one fixed this for me, i tried contact to support via email - no solution. I bought premium using PayPal(linked with my bank account, and i pay using my bank amount). I bought premium on a Christmas Eve, payment were reserved, then payment got proceeded on 28th December. As each day passed, there were no premium automatically on my account. Today i got notification from my bank that there was subscription payment. I can't cancel the subscription because in my account settings there are no current subscriptions, it's only saying "Subscribe Now". I'm really fucking disappointed, i just wanna fix this problem and never use THM again.

You'll have to click on the green Start Machine button in one of the first few tasks. Also, you'll have to wait for 2 to 3 minute for Linux boxes to fully spin up including the related services and 3 to 5 minutes for Windows boxes. Which room are you working on?

go to file search > search openvpn > go to local or whatever it is and clear your vpn configurations. Then put your new configurations under program files > openvpn > config

it sounds like you're having the same issue I was having with your configurations not being set in the correct spot.

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to load web pages that are on the THM "intranet" and anything reaching out to the regular internet might be shut down. As the VPN connects you to their "intranet" and depending on how they have it set up. The boxes on their "intranet" may not be able to reach out to the internet. Sorry, just my two cent.

I usually run a Kali VM to their website to do the tasks, but any "Googleing" I do on my local box and copy pasta it to the VM.

So I checked firefox and it was set to use system proxy settings. I changed that to no proxy. Still didn't work. Then I downloaded chrome to try a different browser and see if that would work and did not. It being set to use system proxy settings does make me suspicous that past me may have messed with kali system settings and set a system proxy but idk how to check it.

Idk this vpn is toooo much rn. Tired of troubleshooting this for today. So will try another day ig.

I installed 2 versions of Ubuntu, 2 versions of debian. Rolled back on almost every possible version of openvpn. I red forum posts about chaning the config.file in a trillion ways.... Isnt the beauty of lerning things in it that a ping command and the simple understandig what a vpn does could have given me the answer 48h ago?

I can access the attack box, as always, but the only green button is just for a quick example thing, not a normal "machine"

is there maybe some other way to spin up a test vm that I'm unaware of?

Once you're in there run chmod +x ~/Downloads/thm-troubleshoot

Finally run the actual script sudo ~/Downloads/thm-troubleshoot

You should receive a prompt that asks you to set the MTU

Can also run sudo ip link set dev tun0 mtu 1200

But since you had an abort at 1000, just lower it

I had to run the script a couple of times

Then I got the prompt

hello all. i need some help. I've been trying for a couple hours to connect to tryhackme with openvpn and can't get it to work. I'm using kali linux via virtualbox. I have uninstalled/reinstalled openvpn several times, regenerated and downloaded the configuration file several times, gone thru all the help steps and nothing seems to work. I'm pretty good on Windows OS, but using Linux is rather new to me.

First of all, are you connected to a VPN from your host machine? If so, disconnect it because multiple connections to the VPN may result in it not working properly.

EDIT: To Preface this, I am a subscriber to THM. I am Hi all, apologies in advance for the long post but not sure if this is explained somewhere within TryHackMe. I have a question about launching machines in room. I noticed that certain machines have specific tools/files already downloaded for them and the generic attack box does not. When I launch a machine through a room with the "Start Machine" button, sometimes I get that "Split View" button and able to access that specific attack box but sometimes it won't and I end up having to start the generic attack box with a different IP. My question is, how do I always access the attack box associated with the machine in the room?

By clicking start attackbox at the top of the page

It's your attacking box. You can start room machine at the same time, but the attackbox mostly isn't needed in that case. (I'm talking about split view target machines)

Thank you for this, I think it was just a bad timing with the rooms. I got confused on a room before this and I thought this room was the same but turns out starting the machine generated an IP I needed to access within the Attack Box instance. I really appreciate the assistance.

Sorry pal, problem in Task 2 of Content Discovery continue. The link http://machine_ip/robots.txt simple doesn’t work. The Sitemap.xml in Task 4 too. It's in Jr Penetration Tester.

this will tell you how to start it and where to find the ip

The search bar in "MyRooms" and the "Search" pages did not work. I tried from Firefox in Kali and Windows

The second issue is, when i try to join the Wreath room, it forward me to MyRooms page. Don't know if it's related to the fact that i'm not subscribed
