#Playerbase

While it would expose the game to another group of potential players it would take a lot of dev time that could be used improving the game for those who already play it.
Not to mention some aim snapping is pretty typical of console shooters which would just be annoying to PC players.
isn't Holdfast Cross play? seems to work fine
Bare in mind I mean as a long term goal
of course devs should improve the game for PC players (us) first but in the longevity of things it would help keep things alive
I guess maybe as a long term goal it might be fine.
I do feel that quite often when console crossplay is introduced there's a degree of animosity between the groups. But who knows.
The biggest issue in this isn’t the game, but the time and resources it takes for a console port, that’s the biggest barrier to entry.
I just feel like it would really expand the amount of players currently present
This is true but if the control scheme is very similiar to something like Holdfast which for example is on Series X then I see no reason why it couldn't be ported over - in terms of the engine, and what it takes to run the game I can see it may take a considerable amount of Time to port over but none of it's impossible and it would really go a long way in prolonging the game's life span and increasing the numbers of the current player base
You didn’t understand what I was trying to say - for a dev team as small as FSE is, a console port could take YEARS.
They need the proper licensing, the proper crossplay features, everything. That costs both time and money. Plus they need to comply with Xbox game requirements and PlayStation if they’re doing a dual port.
It’s a very complex process, one that takes a long time. There’s a reason why most indie games don’t release a console port until 2-3 years after release. They need the capital and the time to do it. Most don’t even get a console port at all.
