I kinda thought that we'd see one her show up at the start there. The Calamity had to have been very intense for her.
partially RQ's fault as well, she was one of those hubris-full mages who usurped the gods
We do know that, especially based on her appearances to VM
Even after almost a day to sit on it, this episode still got to me. The ultimate futility of it all, but still clawing back as much devastation as possible.
I love the secret pseudo-redemption of Vespin Chloras that history will never hear of
Forever labeled a traitor to humanity, but none will ever know the things he did in an attempt to help Zerxus in the end.
Also, I’m conflicted in wanting to know more about the Tree of Names and its capabilities vs loving the mystique.
That last roll and the story after really hits hard
His line about "hope nobody remembers you" hits way harder after the end
We know that the RoB was (probably) almost entirely forgotten about
And that's a good thing
From the perspective of many, they would be just as responsible for the Calamity as Vespin, but they are also responsible for the calamity being able to be stopped too (because of the primordials)
Very true
I love this concept of playing heroes nobody will remember
After all their selfish individual acts, they perform an ultimate act to save the world that nobody will ever know they did
Everyone's hubris except Cerrits was just as responsible for some part of this, but they all (including Cerrit) chose something to help to make it not as bad as it could've been
Chronomancy is truly the greatest magic of them all
oh FFS, Lou got another cake with a top hat situation
oh wow, thats a lot of damage for a swords bard
oof, a level 14 rogue with a non magical crossbow
did we ever find out what wizard subclass Patia was?
No
I assume enchantment, since Brennan would remark on her ability to recognize sloppy Modify Memory handiwork
Could be scribes, could be enchantment, could be divination tbh
I feel like she definitely would've been flexing those Portent dice if she was divination
lord knows she needed it
scribes would flex their awakened spellbook
I'm just basing it on Brennan mentioning that certain PCs would need to refer NPCs to Portia to "forget some things" or something to that effect, possibly referring to the Alter Memories feature for enchantment wizards
Being able to cast Modify Memory to make people forget things, and then using Alter Memories to make them forget that they forgot those things seems right up her alley
as was the case with Zerxus
I assumed Patia was Scribes because she was Keeper of Scrolls
But yeah, she really didn’t get a chance to flex any subclass features that I can think of
I have to say, one of my absolute favorite things about Calamity may or may not have been Travis getting a gnarly case of the giggle fits every single time Lou does/says something
her little orb could have been a reflavored awakened spellbook
He was a melee build, so his hawks were magical iirc
Finally finished up Thursdays episode. That campaign was definitely a ride
I'm willing to forgive Mulligan for some of his rules mistakes since ultimately it washed out in a way that felt good
99% certain that Wall of Force creates total cover, so PWK shouldn't have been able to target for example.
Also I think they were running on the leveled spells misapplication of casting rules since Misty Step would have locked out Counterspell for Vespin.
And there was the time he countered a spell on a release, after it had been readied
I'm not familiar with that last one
I can't recall if it was this episode or last. Someone readied a spell, and then when they released it got counterspelled.
You cast a spell upon readying it, so it's a way to protect yourself from being countered
In exchange for using concentration until you release the spell
Ahh right, hadn't considered that interaction before
Always nice to know even seasoned veterans of the game with decades of experience still miss rulings from time to time, even 'crunchy' ones like brennan
yeah the game has way to many rules, especially when it comes to spell casting, to avoid scenarios like these.
ultimately, I dont think any of Brennan's rulings impacted the game in a negative way
One they let slide was hold person and the dragon summon staying and also attacking the pirate
I wouldn't rule counterspell that way. Until released, it doesn't yet exist in the world. Only when released can the energy be stopped.
Also worth mentioning Brennan has never been a 100% RAW DM, so I wouldn’t worth about it.
He’s far more concerned with telling an interesting and compelling story than he is about stopping to look up rules interactions.
my impression of him for all the hours I've watched him DM is that he generally likes to get the rules right and tries to deviate from them on purpose rather than by accident
but of course, making an in the moment ruling to keep things flowing is more important than to look things up all the time
Yeah, it’s no secret that he allows for things to work different from the rules if he and his party think it’s cool, so that’s what I mean when I say he was never a 100% RAW DM.
Nor was that ever what he offered up.
And I agree, I don’t think any of the houseruling he did affected the game negatively.
From a raw perspective, the trigger for counterspell is 'casting the spell'.
The ready action states that you cast it as normal, but then hold its energy (via concentration), and release it on the specified trigger.
So by the time it's released, the spell has already been cast and therefore no trigger available for counterspell.
But anyway, yeah there was nothing super egregious... And the way Brennan flows the game I dwell on it less than Mercer run games
I think that's definitely a style difference between the two. Brennan has this energy that never really stuck people in the 'can this work within the rules' kind of discussions that come up at least once a session with the normal CR cast and Mercer
It was 'here's how this works' maybe one quick 'really?' 'yes, moving on'
Brennan is used to having shorter-run games, so I think he’s really mastered the art of keeping the narrative moving forward.
Mercer’s CR campaigns aren’t as restricted by time the way the ExU campaigns had been, so he can get away with letting the players push the narrative forward in their own time.
At least that’s my observation.
yeah. regular CR is much more like a typical home game in this way. "the story is done when its done, no matter if it takes 110 or 120 episodes"
Exactly. Matt gives the players the wheel and lets them drive. Brennan drives, but has the players give him directions.
I wonder how much leeway there was to alter known canon in the story
Like, was there even a way to prevent the Calamity entirely. Or at least push it off to another Replenishment
Like the way it was done, feels like all their actions directly contributed.
But at the same time, you'd expect a story like this to be tightly on rails... Yet it didn't feel like it entirely
In terms of canon altering i think as long as the overall story worked in the established canon it was probably going to all be considered canon
Similar to exu1
I dont think there was a way. the tree would always be destroyed one way or the other. The betrayers where free to walk exandria once that happens.
Obviously pushing off the calamity or stopping it entirely would alter canon too much
I believe Brennan’s goal was to keep it as true to canon as he could too, since he said that he spent an incredible amount of time pestering Matt about the lore.
Wonder how things would have played out if they opted to try to save the city at the cost of allowing the primordials a chance to be free
Brennan did say there was a chance they did a canon divergence
Agreed. Especially when the adventure started with Vespin succeeding in the definitive act that triggered the Calamity.
But I think he trusted everyone to play their characters as their characters were. Which from an overall standpoint could only lead to a specific place
I think the players bought into the canon as well and made characters whose hubris would all play a part in the fall of Avalir.
So they all did a pretty good job of keeping in mind what the Calamity was, and understood that the goal of the story wasn’t to prevent it.
Which then asks, how much pre game prep on characterization do they do? Like while it's not scripted, do they spend several working days basically going back and forth and nailing down all their perks, flaws, etc round table style until they get characters that help flow the story?
They're professional actors largely, so easier I'm sure to be consistent to a built character
I don’t know that they needed so much time and probably spent more time thinking about the accomplishments they’ve had between Lvls 1-14
But I’m sure Brennan had some sort of guideline for them regarding the time period and setting they’re playing in. A world where everybody’s selfish ambition pushes the world to a breaking point.
It's evident that each of them spent a non insignificant amount of time talking with Brennan about their characters
I’m sure one of the big questions Brennan asked was “what is/are something/s that your character can’t afford to lose?”
Considering how integrated all of them are
Exactly
Some day I hope they maybe do some behind the scenes, campaign prep type showings
That'd be something useful to see from player /dm perspectives
Idk that they’ll go too far with that kind of stuff
If only because I think Handbooker Helper is the only content they’ve made that was explicitly for teaching and not just entertainment.
And I feel like we’ve gotten tidbits of information as to what their individual and group processes look like through things like their talk shows.
Sidenote: I read an interesting theory earlier today that stated that Vespin was unlikely to actually have been an Evil with a capital E bad guy because Brennan mentioned that he was a Malconvoker, which was apparently a 3.5 prestige class that required you to not be evil, and their whole shtick was tricking evil beings into helping them without being evil themselves.
And that’s a pretty cool little tidbit to me.
I felt like it was pretty clear that Vespin thought he could somehow use the betrayers but was quickly corrupted once he opened the door
He knew a bad deal when he saw one regarding Zerxus, so it definitely could’ve been from experience.
its not clear exactly what he originally wanted to do but presumably his flaw was hubris similar to the ring of brass, and not being evil
Yeah, the ambition (and in turn hubris) was a sort of defining aspect of the Age of Arcanum.
But I could totally see him being no more evil than say Laerynn, who had no problem risking the well-being of all of Avalir if it meant exceeding her own personal accomplishments.
yeah
Anyways, thanks to Brennan for bringing two of my favorite CR NPCs to live in Calamity, cuz Vespin and Asmodeus were both on my list of enemies to play around with back when I was running Tal’Dorei
I believe vespins intention was to replace a betrayer god with a mortal the same way the old god of death was erased. Or given the Malconvoker thing, perhaps to bend one to his will. He didnt seem like an evil guy when momentarily cleansed, just one full of regrets
Oh nice, we get to see the City Builder of a wizard that Aabria put together.
EXU GM roundtable tonight
Oh? Is that gonna be on Twitch?
Yea, usual stream time 7pm pst
Sweet
ExU GM?
exandria unlimited gamemaster
Yeah, Matt, Aabria, and Brennan discussing GMing in Exandria. Big hype to see it.
Now I just need Jasmine Bhullar to GM an ExU season
I wanna see Jasmine Bhullar, Mark Hulmes, and B Dave Walters DM some EXUs. Also maybe Deborah Ann Woll and Griffin McElroy (though I'm not sure their styles would match CRs)
Will we ever see a spin-off full campaign running concurrently with CR? That would be cool. Get in all the guest stars they've had to play.
I think that would be hard to have done
All the guests have full time jobs outside of the CR guest appearances. Getting them to sit down and play D&D for an indeterminate amount of time doesn’t sound like something plausible.
Really enjoying the roundtable (didn't get to watch last night)
I love Deborah Ann Woll can't resist putting puzzles into her games. 🤣
I'm also not sure what Xerxes was trying to do. At first it seemed like he was just giving Asmodeus the benefit of the doubt and comforting a torture victim. Cool. Then he wanted to change him? It almost seemed like he just had the hots for Asmodeus. 🤣
To be fair, Asmodeus kept presenting to this grieving widower as his dead husband. I’m sure that definitely manipulated some of his mental processes.
But, like Asmodeus said, Zerxus’s hubris and pride were his flaw. Just as anybody else’s in the Age of Arcanum.
Because he thought he could change/fix a god.
I think it worked like this:
Asmo first presented himself to him as a sympathetic and misunderstood victim in many ways, who has suffered incredible amounts.
He also looked a bit like Xerxes dead husband ofc.
so Xerxus wanted him to be redeemed, so he could be again what Xerxus believed he was once upon a time, so he doesnt want to get revenge anymore
that was kind of asked in the twitter roundtable, and luis said he felt the asmo/zerx interactions were more paternal than romantic, like a parent trying to soothe and comfort a hurting kid
The absolute arrogance, to think he would redeem the Lord of the Hells. lol
I mean thats the theme of all them. They all represent the Hubris of the Age of Arcanum. thinking themselves above gods and capable of literally everything they set their mind to
a paladin whose whole thing is wielding divine power while kneeling to no god would certainly be capable of thinking that
I wonder if we’ll see him again. As a Devil, the dude could still be alive a thousand years later.
If you ever meet a balor with a belt of storm giant strength, let us know
He'll still be swinging around that mace.
I mean if Vespin is still considered the left hand of the lord of hells...
this opening...
Yeah, that intro is cool.
a bit rough but nice and colorful
I love the rainforest cafe
This is somewhat explaining the fearne stuff from exu
I prefer the previous intro.
Princess Calloway
joe's? joe's where?
JOE MAMA'S
the 'it's been a while' murmur
There's the Delilah influence in Laudna.
dammit I just missed the joke they laughed at
🥲
I need to get a drink and some snacks
when I come back, tell me what I miss
back, orym got what in the gift shop?
A t-shirt
heh
heh, can't just go 'so the spell fades and ends' when it's 8 hour concentration
ahhh stuck fuzzle
Oh no I missed it, gonna watch on monday
Is it good?
I saw the new intro it is... something
You can catch the rerun in a couple of hours.
It's ok.
Or that, yes, but I think it's gonna be a little late here
oh my god, "mike"
We are bluffing with cuteness here!
"JUST CALL ME MICK"
i am dying
There's also a rerun tomorrow at the same time.
This is the true power of Druids! The apex predators of the "ZOMG WOOK AT THIS WITTLE GUY! I LOVE THEM."
yep
This!
This is why when you wildshape, you do not pick something that wouldn't be out of place.
Only an hour of Wildshape? She's gotta have more.
YOU PICK THE THING EVERYONE HAS TO GO AWWWWW OVER!
half druid level rounded down, so
She has 2 hours. But people only have seen her go for an hour, so that's what they assume.
Delaying the major upgrade of Wildfire.
yep
taking 1st level features of a different class, instead of a major subclass level.
Erika coming for blood here
love the double rogue 1 multiclass(mandatory starwars joke)
That was the bestest ad.
Oh wow is this the episode ||mollymauk...||?
This campaign feels like it's going much slower
Oh no, poor Ferne... Sounds like she's setting up the 'guardian built up your deadbeat parents as a hero to spare you the pain' trope
:<
oh oh no
The nightmare guy earlier did recognize the calloway scent...
oh can't say I was quite expecting this
I fee that way too
this is awesome
These are the best twists.
~fey court dramaaaa!~
Hopefully this fixes that!
Nope, did not expect that
😄 I love Warlock plots.
theres that fcg confirmation
These guys are definitely from Aeor after the M9 went there
They all got woke up and now they’re spreading across the world
I mean he did just say as much 😛
the backstory 🔨 s coming in fast
I love it when they say "Roll for it", low roll, "Nevermind".
Falls in line with the trope...
well if they are real, lots of nice juicy info for our calloway hunter Dusk
I wonder if they're being intentionally blind about the whole fact that Dusks story doesn't line up with Joe's regarding Fernes parents
When they messaged her mother didn't she recognize dusk too?
Anyway, yeah, they're probably not insight checking to be good players and not spoil the story
they could have also just been too caught up to put the dots together
I don't recall the reaction regarding Dusk offhand
maybe with a week to think on it there will be some more suspicion
Well unless they sequester themselves from the internet, they probably end up getting spoiled for their own game 😂
depends on how far ahead the filming has been too
They just go weekly still don't they? Like I know it's not 'live', but they reference topical things on a weekly basis
Fearne's parents recognized Dusk
Joe's story didn't really mess with anything that Dusk told them either
if you buy into the time is a weird soupness of it all
the betrayal is gonna be niceee, i hope they've filmed enough ahead so that it's a surprise to some of them
A quick thought. Dusk has been dispatched to finish off the Calloway line, yes? So, is Grandma Morrigan already dead?
And maybe the reason that she sent Fearne to the human realm, was to try and save her life.
Because Fearne said that it was her grandmother who lead her to the portal out of the Feywild.
maybe she was removed from the feywild for her own protection, if unseelies are hunting down seelies
Grandma definitely sent her out because of that
I really hope grandma isn't dead though :[
Its fine, Critical Role has taught us that we can redeem hot people as long as they are not demons
Funny thing I thought about while rewatching the most recent episode: the mages of the age of arcanaum (at least in aoer) had such a big thing about trying to figure out time travel. Meanwhile the fey are right next door jumping around time (at least based in what we've heard about the timeline of fearnes parents) with seeming ease (and the whole thing Artagan did in C1)
Much like Avalir's fascination with planehopping, which likewise, can evidently be done by extraplanar beings.
It's the concept of "They can do it, so why shouldn't we be able to do it?!"
I'm finally getting around to watching their GMing Exandria roundtable
We also get the full table Calamity wrap up tomorrow. Very excited for that
Yeah, I'm glad they decided to get back together for that
I missed the quick little thing they did on Twitter
did they describe fearne's parent as having gone backwards in time? or is it the typical "a minute, a week, or a year could have passed in the material plane since crossing the planes"?
I didn't catch on, but I don't think the time dilation was explicitly mentioned
We don't know the specific time dilation, but between Dusk and Joe (and Fearne's) anecdotes of when they met/have seen her parents, there seems to be a degree of jumping around
i feel like joe is the only reliable narrator there xD
We know that Archfey Can affect the passage of time. Not sure about Fearne or her family
We do at least know that the Calloways know of (and seem to trust) Dusk
so its unlikely Dusk was entirely lying
my best bet with Dusk is they were befriending the Calloways in an attempt to get them to divulge their secrets (presumably about this "crown" the archfey they reported to mention) and then kill them after getting the information
ahh ok, i think i missed where they confirmed to know and trust dusk
Maybe in some “time is a weird soup” sort of way, Dusk met them before the Archfey.
seems unlikely. Dusk definitely seemed to be aware of their timeline of events
it was when they were messaged
"our dusk" is what they said iirc
hmm! a deeply entrenched agent perhaps... or maybe turned by the unseelie after parting ways?
There’s also always the possibility of her being a double agent
Sent out by an unseelie patron that she pretends to be on good terms with, only to find out she’s indirectly working against them
But she needs their patronage in order to do so, so she plays along
I’m guessing that Dusk will try to take out Fearne during the race. Or maybe even before, to blame it on the crawlers
I cant wait for Thursday
I don't think it'll happen with certainty but I hope Dusk is after Lolth's Crown.
Patia confirmed full enchantment wizard
Makes sense with the mind wipe she was known for
Thanks Chet...
Chetney immediately becomes dust
Vecna ad tells us when this was filmed
How so?
Because the dossier is no longer available lol
How long's it been gone?
Well, time is a wierd soup.
Yea, and they just recently posted the behind the scenes of them telling Matt happy birthday, which was during the filming of one of the last few episodes.
DUSK
Not on the job lol
WE'RE GOING TO THE MOON!!!
Sam...
Did you slip in-character?
Wait. Were we supposed to get vecna dice with the dossier claim?
The dice were purchasable I believe - not a freebie
Dusk!
lol
Whenever you finish a long rest, you can touch one weapon that you are proficient with and that lacks the two-handed property. When you attack with that weapon, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls.
?
Lol Mercer - not canon nope
Yea 10/10, something bad's happened to Granny Morrigan.
I'm still wondering how appropriate that name will end up being.
Morgan... Le Fae?
The Morrigan is an Irish god of war and fate. The "Great Queen".
A triumvirate God.
So yea. Ashley named Fearne's granny after a God, which could very easily translate to being an Archfey.
Did Dusks patron have a name again? I can't recall
Sorrowlord Zathuda, Bearer of the Lightless Flame and Grove Captain of the Unseelie Court
according to the recap
Give the monkey a gun dangit
Do we know her?
It's from the dream, isn't it?
Oh it's her?
It's so hot and humid where I am right now that it help me imagine Busuras as the same.
Fearneeeeee
This lady is doc ock?
Oh jetpack
Marisha thinking "ohmygod we are gonna have to meet Ashley's new character"
Erika's on a mission for that exact thing
I am now incredibly curious to see what would happen if Laudna took that and how it would affect Delilah
I think that Delilah would not take kindly to it
Oh dear did I miss a bunch between now and Fearne trying to sneak a look at some wires?
They run.
2 words that fill a volume.
. . . . .
Oh no
Hey, you need a blaster? 😄 I mean, it's in the name. Come on Laudna
Dusk really be trying to get rid of FCG.
They are the only one who could pick up Fearne after all
TRAVIS! CEO MAN
WE'RE EXPENSING GO-KARTS
when is the critical role rerun, did the schedule change?
twitch says it was 8 hours ago
usually it'll be at noon EDT (so, 43 minutes from now)
forget it i'm dumb it's in 40 minutes
I can't wait to see how Dusk screws with them during the race.
Because she's absolutely gonna take advantage of the chaos.
So was looking at the YT repost and there was some comments that apparently it would appear that Erica is making rolls and texting and Matt seemingly acknowledging her silently during some points such as one of the conversations between Imogen and Laudna
lil eavesdropping i assume
Then he would probably be a worse character.
Hm, is there a audio desync for anyone else?
Nope
Fcg car real
They're so dead.
Liam literally couldn't think of anything else
i... hope they can still turn
"Do I have suspension"
I really want Fearne to monkey bomb a car: teleport onto one with Mister, hit the core, teleport off and as a result blow up the core with it
Finally a use for Spell Sniper
🐢
Spirit guardians on the vehicle is very nice and very Mario kart
Mario Kart 5e sounds like it could be fun
final fantasy mad max kart
Hello bees
doesn't heat metal not require you to stay near the target to happen?
60 foot range but nothing about maintaining it.
If a creature is holding or wearing the object and takes the damage from it, the creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or drop the object if it can. If it doesn't drop the object, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the start of your next turn.```
i would argue unless you get out of the vehicle the latter applies
Oh yea. She's holding onto the bar, so yea... spicy
Like, this spell is really cruel in this scenario. Because she really cannot do anything about this.
He said atleast a few more times
Yeah durations and such are being slightly modified for this race it seems
RIP 👵
Matt just channeled the vox machina campaign there
I just caught up to the fan gallery and number 30 is amazing.
https://444vno15v5re20btub322y5h-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/zerzband.instagram.jpg
Barracuda!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeMvMNpvB5M
Good thing they made fcg the wheel so chet could wolf out safely
I'm just watching Erika for any signs of shenanigans.
Is she on the road or on a vehicle?
with orym i believe
Yea, it's
FCG/Chet/Launda
Ashton/Imogen
for vehicles, I think.
And we've got Fearne, Orym, and Dusk on the side.
jeez, with matt's rolls tonight they might have this cleaned up pretty quick
lol Laudna evil deaded the paragon's call lady
"I'm gonna throw up..."
throw up noise
"Yea I'm just gonna throw up in her face"
Here is where hex does work
hex's disadvantage on an ability checks and spell sniper being useful? rare and beautiful
hooray! bells hells wins!
"Yea you beat all the other cars but I ain't letting you get out that easily"
chetney: jeff goldblum voice "must go faster"
It's like the racing games in an arcade where they have a random giant monster pop up on the side of the track to mess with you
People keep holding dodge.
lol yeah that always makes me squint a bit
I demand all the Fury road fanart of FCG for this
There seems to already be some fanart of the race in the last gallery.
Oooo
For the inevitable betrayal, she's got SMITE.
Also everything dusk does im like "is now when they attack?"
still building trust 😤
What's Fearne been up to, I'm in and out a bit but I can't recall a section involving Ashley since the start of the race when her stealth checks failed
Dusks target is Fearne, so I wouldn't expect an attack?
She's smart enough to know that she needs to isolate Fearne.
i thought her target was fearne's parents?
The entire Calloway line is her mission
Dusk is here to kill them all.
He asks if they located the Moontide Crown, if they have dealt with the Calloways. Is he aware there is a daughter? She has been living here in the mortal realm, with these beautiful idiots.
Dusk isn't the only one on this job, but they're the only one who has gotten results, and is the prettiest. They have succeeded where their rivals has not. Zathuda says that he hasn't seen results yet. They’re taking their time, and he's growing impatient.
Zathuda says that if Dusk is this close, he expects the crown soon. They won’t be alone in the hunt. They promise they will end the Calloway line soon.
😄 -1 str check.
...oh fearne... not her day
She's in a hole.
Hey she made the gap slightly wider
WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~Ashton Greymoore
Honestly, I'm afraid of Dusk being within a mile of that portable hole.
Because all she needs to do is trick any of them into it, roll it up, and wait.
Can someone get FCG off?
I would have asked FCG for a con check vs exhaustion every segment.
Same, but only after the first.
I treasure the Orym Fearne friendship. Crownkeeper Crew
Lol Tals face when she said unattractive there
Still working out Dusk's angle here.
Meanwhile, if everyone except Erika can leave the table...
As Dusk steps away from the conversation, flipping the dark metallic ring on their finger, mythric tendrils creep into the back of their mind. They feel the presence and hear the voice of Sorrowlord Zathuda, Bearer of the Lightless Flame, Grove Captain of the Unseelie Court.
the ultimate no thoughts, head empty
It's been an age since I looked at this item and it is freaky
....
Chetney
Task failed successfully lol
Hey, did you know D&D Beyond exists?
No I did not. Tell me more!
Absolutely amazing Travis
Can I use a database of all officially released items construct a PC?
It's so incredibly in character for chet too
Immediately trying to turn the party against each other after getting caught lol
I love it that the players can keep secrets to themselves.
Immediately defuse the situation. They need to get some cover
Or whenever
on the postcards he got a whisper
I don't remember what that whisper was about.
Gad dammit I just tuned in and it's like 20 minutes to the end
That's what happens when you tune in 4 hours in.
No it was a perception check, not the postcards
Or was that the same one? Either way
Imogen checking dusks mind because she was jealous of them getting close with Laudna leading to this lol
observant feat
Oh we're getting into this
Won't Dusk think of sleeping in another room than Imogen?
Why?
Because she would see/feel Imogen trying to penetrate.
Dancer??
Parents.
birdie!
Should have used CashApp...
90 to 6 good lord
Wierd Soup and all.
Dusk
Eldritch Tattoo.
I mean we knew this was coming but cmon
Changeling!
Hate that art
new art 😮
Spooky
I was gonna bring up the fact Erika was just salivating.
Jeeeeeeez
Dusk found their prey
And yea Erika was salivating so much lol
Should have dropped a villain PC a lot sooner than this. 🙂
She's not connected to Seelie. She's Unseelie.
I love Erika so much
Oh yea, I had my little freakout earlier at the reveal of Dusk being a Padlock
Padlocks are problems.
Juicy juicy juicy
This... This'll be interesting-
I cant wait for her to just smite the living hell out of Calaway momma
Level 8 Padlock. Nasty.
One of my players replaced her character with a Padlock. Already wreaking havoc. Think she dropped 80 damage a turn last game.
Padlocks are vicious
E x ac t ly -
So what was the transcript when they did the message to Birdie, thought Dusk was mentioned when I brought that up?
They do the most.
Dusk mentioned the glade.
I'm so mad at Erika for interrupting the fact that it's been 90 years for Fearne but only 6 for her parents
Because they should have caught on with Joe's story
Dusk capitalised on the first opportunity.
Obviously
so fey time is slower than material time, 90 fey years in 6 material years
hm
Feywild time transitions are wacky.
I'm a fan of jeremy bearimy
Depending on how Erika's split up her 8 levels. (I'm leaning 6/2 Warlock/Paladin), Dusk can drop 3rd level smites on them. They crit and that's 8d8 SMITE
Remember in C1 Artagan manipulated the flow to make 24 hours be only a minute (or some other small amount of time)
gotta love the effects of time between the realms
But 90 to 6 is a lot™️
Yea, so I'm wondering if that 90 to 6 was intentional.
Because I'm still leaning towards Grandma Morrigan being an Archfey.
i think the time passage thing occurs when you pass between the planes, artagan just locked it to one of the lower values
wait, how many postcards did Fearne get?
My player took Crown 6/Hexblade 5. Mine at that level is Conquest 3/Hexblade 5. It could hurt.
Based on the bits we know... her being an archfey of the seelie court would track
because that many postcards all around in only 6 years?
Especially since it seems like Fearne lived in a realm of the feywild with very few other people
We also know whatshername, the not!harengon from EXU was saved by fearnes gma
But archfey have their realms so...
If she's using a build similar to mine, it will be darkness (she can see through), probably an item to teleport/planeshift, and pop 3rd level Armor of Agathys and Shield as the need arises.
So I'm wondering if she became aware of something very terrible happening, and specifically altered the flow of time to get Fearne out ahead of it.
It's been 90 years since Fearne's parents left, and Morrigan dropped her off only 6 years into that journey.
Or if parental units went to ward off a threat, then Morigan would want to make sure Fearne is grown up before it happens.
Also: next episode isn't for 2 weeks :^]
idk if erika does builds and min/maxing though, Dusk's combats so far have not been especially amazing, but she was likely holding back on all paladin abilities
So rude. lol
big old cliffhanger, yeah 😫
She also hid 2 levels.
Because up till now, Dusk was 6
Just Warlock 6 https://www.critrolestats.com/pcstats-mq
she used lay on hands in the race though, so i figured that sheet was a mask
could have been keeping two different sheets though, would help with tablemates reading over her shoulder for sure
Bit like what Travis did with Chetney when he reported 5 rogue
Which was revealed to be a lot more Bloodhunter than Rogue.
but did he actually use a rogue sheet or just use his BH sheet and call it rogue?
I mean we can't exactly know that, beyond what gets put into the little box in the corner.
i suppose it dont matter than much, just along for the ride
I cant wait for next time
Sadly, we must
