Black Plume Crater

A foul, dark haze rises out of small vents in the rock at the base of Black Plume Crater. Mildly poisonous, noxious smelling, deeply humid, and thoroughly unpleasant. These dark vapours bubble up from toxic muds below the crater floor. In the crater wall there is an ornately carved entrance leading down to the toxic sludge below. It resembles the face of a massive unpleasant imp with an open mouth through which to enter – and when seen from closer, it is in turn made up of carvings of many lewd and vile smaller imps.

There is a small complex below at the end of which is a sealed treasure vault. But of course a portion of the complex is the bubbling toxic mud itself, filling the whole environment with a foul miasma that promises illness and eventually death to those who explore this place unprotected. Swimming within this toxic mud are a pair of ancient kopru and a small legion of horrid little mephits that are both their servants and their food source.

With the right masks and aromatic herbal filters, one can survive the toxic mist for some time. And with the right motivation – say a treasure map to the vault and indications that an ancient rune blade is hidden within – one could probably be convinced to assemble such gear and enter the bubbling death trap. The real risk is of course the mud-dwelling kopru who would love to send adventurers back to the world under their control armed with a few fresh tools from the vaults… if they are strong enough to survive the other dangers down here.

From the name and the map it is pretty obvious that part of this dungeon was inspired by White Plume Mountain (the room with the suspended wooden platforms across a chamber of bubbling mud) and Isle of Dread (kopru living within the pools). Obviously some other adventurers have been here in the past and managed to lay down some wooden planking between the first batch of stone pillars in the mud chamber (which in turn is inspired by our own antics in a DCC game where the wizard was accompanied by an animated “transformer” style wooden wagon which disassembled itself to produce bridges for us in a similar environment).

The 1200 dpi versions of the map were drawn at a scale of 300 pixels per square and are 13,200 pixels (44 squares) wide. To use this with a VTT you would need to resize the squares to either 70 pixels (for 5′ squares) or 140 pixels (for 10′ squares) – so resizing it to either 3,080 pixels wide or 6,160 pixels wide, respectively.

Ruins of Baug Skyreach

Baug Skyreach, or the Skyreach Ruins, is the shell of an ancient tower that stands out over the forests of Kazhkul. Assembled from a grey-green stone that appears to be the same as the stone in the deeper shafts of the bottomless tombs, the only way to explain the upper reaches of the tower still standing is magic. While there are only two floors that remain, the cracked and worn shell of the tower climbs another hundred feet before petering out in rough spires now covered in bird droppings.

The residents of Baug Skyreach are a strange colony of crones – ancient-seeming “humans” that keep coming down stairs from the upper floor the longer you remain here. And yet going upstairs only finds an empty chamber the size of the full tower. And some of these crones bear a striking resemblance to hags, harpies, and medusae (including their abilities). Those who come here to explore the dungeons beneath the ruins and who don’t insult or attack the strange tower residents can find themselves offered a variety of broths and soups, perhaps some old cheese, definitely a fortune telling or three, and once on good terms with the elders they will become willing to trade treasure collected below for potions that they produce mysteriously from their robes, rags, and feathers.

Which of course brings us to the main reason to visit Baug Skyreach – as the stairs just outside the tower lead down into who knows what strange dungeons. (Seriously, no dungeon supplied, please choose from the many maps that have a full dungeon drawn up with no real notes on what is above it).

Oh, there are lots of options -- you can make a commission sample sheet and just post that around with your contact information listed on it.

You can use a website specifically to host commission information (I've seen lots of artists use Carrd). Any way that makes it easy for people to contact you is best!

And when you're ready to take commissions, spread it around any places you think you might find customers: social media sites, some forums or groups you're a part of, and even the #dnd-advertisements channel here.

head, neck, torso, abs, hips, biceps, forearms, hands, thighs, calves, feets.

the problem with walking is that, it makes it look like you want to do it with a look of perspective from one point of view. Which makes the body parts shorter than others, the right leg looks like the thigh is shorter than the other

same with the calves. Always keep in mind the proportions sizes, unless you have a plan as to why you made it look like that.

overall looks good, since we are not trying to draw for real a body, but just a rough sketch . try giving it shoulders, a neck, ( if you want, try making the right calve a bit longer

@mortal dagger the red lines serves to help you know the middle(obvious stuff) then the red triangles help with the placement of eyes and mouth. And shoulders to belly bottom. By placing the eyes and mouth. The Blue is the Trapezius this you can use to conect the neck to the body, from the back it looks like a diamond. so you can use a triangle to dictate how you want the muscle to look like, the more wider and bigger, the more masculine, less, wider, and smaller closer to the body, feminine.

I myself prefer the good old teaching yourself by watching anime, cartoons, western, manga, etc. And simply try to mimic and mix and match stuff you like about them and make it your own by giving it your own quirky style. I left my old arts school because they just wanted to imprint in me their style and form of art. I knew it wasn't for me when I tried to do a painting of an old woman who i thought it looked fine, but then the teacher kept forcing me to put more YELLOW, YELLOW, YOU NEED TO CAPTURE THE LIGHTING OF THE SUN ON HER FACE!!!

@mortal dagger I drew the red line showing how it would look more natural by imagining where the thigh would go even though it is being covered by the other leg. It helps you connect the calve with the thigh.

A little fun fact the thigh and the calf are about the same length. Same with the arms, pretty much the same length. With some exceptions.

Since you are already good with objects and such, instead of trying to do a whole body, why not try doing and focusing for now on just a head and neck, or an arm to hold the weapon

What im going to say now is something a bit more ahead of sketching and a bit more complicated . Working out my own body, flexing the muscles, feeling the pain on each body part helps me better understand what muscles to draw in order to convey an action like walking or throwing a punch. By flexing my arm I feel the bicep hurt and expand, the forearm tightens.. Same thing with other body parts.

actually it came super early but .....first day leaves a note saying it will be left on the access point at the michaels store and be ready for customer pick up on the next business day, this was on thrusday and the next one would friday. Then go on thrusday twice to the store and no packages, just in case it was left there before the said time. I then go work on friday, I then go directly to the store after work and no package... why? The driver never left any package on thrusday and friday. I check my phone tracking number, it says it will reattempt to leave at access point for a second time...? I get home and the Driver left me a note saying "Next time :)" Yes, he had the nerves to put a smiley face next to that instead of an address to the access point.....last time I ever use UPS. You could say this was my face seeing the second note.

so i just bought a stamp, looking into getting more heads, its a really easy thing to get into cause wax is cheap and the heads are very cheap on places like etsy too, 3-6$ for a head. But yea i was thinking of 3d printing some too but wasnt sure if itd melt at all in hot wax temperatures, probably not but ill test soon.

River Caves Beneath the Necropolis

Built along the south bank of the Ranánga River is Sokátis, the City of Roofs. The city’s necropolis is on the north side of the river, beyond the steep stony banks. There are a number of small caves along the banks – most of which are well known to the villagers of Tálesh Kü which abuts on the city of the dead. This set of caves reaches to the basement of an old mausoleum between ancient Éngsvanyáli pyramids. The pyramids have been left untouched, but a number of mausoleums and sepulchers of more recent eras have been torn down and rebuilt over the years coinciding with larger ditlanas* in Sokátis proper.

(For those not familiar with Tsolyani culture - urban renewal typically takes the form of tearing down much of the city and rebuilding it, often filling over old structures with new ones, leaving a series of old basements, sub-basements, and even old roads beneath the street level of the modern city.)

One of the secret societies dedicated to Sárku (calling themselves the Court of Darkness, named after the Engsvanyáli obelisk in honour of the Dark Trinity in the city proper) meets in the old substructures. They are well-enough connected that the one time that noxious oozes moved into the caverns they were able to get the Legion of the Phalanx of Heretlékka of Sokátis (34th Imperial Heavy Infantry) to clear it out.

Those seeking the members of the Court of Darkness (or seeking to unmask them) will sooner or later learn of their meetings in the buried mausoleum – the perfect place to confront them, assault them, or beg for their aid.

The 1200 dpi version of the map was drawn at a scale of 300 pixels per square and is 14,400 pixels (48 squares) wide. To use this with a VTT you would need to resize the squares to either 70 pixels (for 5′ squares) or 140 pixels (for 10′ squares) – so resizing it to either 3,360 pixels wide or 6,720 pixels wide, respectively.
