@high skiff it really depends on much rendering you want to do. For this guy id suggest some light wrinkling under the eye to give them a sunken in feel, additionally a more wrinkly neck would help sell th etexture(snapping turtles have the wrinkles because their neck needs to be extra ellastic while stretching to snap at prey)

The ship is certainly magical, as is one of its inhabitants. Can you decide for yourself if he is the captain (like Davy Jones) or is he just the captain's tame animal that he sets on enemies?
Also, at your discretion, the purpose of the device at the very top of the ship. I assumed that this allows the ship not to sail, but to fly above the water at a low altitude. You can also consider the option that it creates an invisibility field, this will allow the ship to sneak up on other ships, or you can come up with something of your own.

I made this in like just under 6 hours using free tools Inkarnate gives you (no downloads either)
u can then screenshot it add it to roll20 and use the maps as worldmaps, and using the editing you can turn the grid into Miles instead giving ur players an actaul worldmap they can use for travel
(this is one continent but its all im gonna be using for a while)
