I had some interest in Tieflings, but my dm wouldnt let me play one for the campaign, so I tried a drow instead (it didn’t work out well) but that got me on drow and then I got to play a tiefling (Casthos my love) and then I won’t stop making magenta-purple Tieflings with rams horns (suspiciously Mollymauk tealeaf shaped, they’ve been compared to him <\3)

Drow are elves typically from tbe Underdark, so they tend to have like purple/blue skin and pale hair.
Most drow serve Lolth the spider queen goddess, but there are a faction that live above ground and are patroned by Elistraee, the music/freedom goddess.
Drow also are . . . I don’t wanted to say matriarchal because their society is just a patriarchy but technically women rule.

Best advice I can give though? Both their eyes are WIDE open for this. At LEAST for the steed, I’d suggest the eyes be closed and visually relaxed.

My party's currently on a time-travelling plotline, meeting one of the PC's parents when they were young adventurers w/ all of their companions. The party's particularly taken to Mercy :) (2nd image is an older, both in terms of drawing & the actual character, version of her in the 'main' timeline.)

harmless creature that feeds on plants and decaying matter

is found in dense forests or humid rainforests; it loves dark and damp places, and more common on the surface

absolutely massive. ~1.3m tall, and even more longer; you can sit on it and it doesnt care at all

aside from its size, it also has a very durable carapace, stronger than any plate armor (AC 22), and if you do actually hurt it it curls up (AC +4) and secretes a very, very stinky fluid (disadvantage on all rolls if you smell it because eugh im not sure if you can even focus)

its so hard to kill that its just not worth the effort to kill, so it doesnt have much predators
it has very little predators because. well. nothing can actually hurt it other than people with really powerful gear

and even so, they dont have much reason to aside from obtaining its sturdy carapace

tldr: very big and long capybara thats an insect (that has super strong armor)

This is part of a module called crooked moon, an American folk horror inspired campaign, it was created by a famous dnd group,

if you love American gothic/folk horror, and shows such as over the garden wall and nightmare before Christmas, I’d recommend checking it out!

Here is my workflow stages in a little lecture.

I don't consider my self a proper artist because I was raised by people with traditional/historical art degrees, so I don't feel like my color blind self using all the digital tools I can to get something I like cuts all the corners I just can't with all the books, resources, and attempts I made with real paint and canvas and pincles, I have no steady hand or eyes that can work like an artist does.

What I do have is the mind and skill of architectural blueprinting and constructing 3D models, some overlap with proper digital art makes for this kind of work flow for me.

I don't think it counts as art, but a couple months ago I got super busy with university and stopped DMing for my group of friends, to my surprise they still converse about DND and await my return, I told them nothin but after my semester ends, I am gonna surprise them with some sessions, I made some posters/teasers for their antagonists

I think the second turned out the best.

Quickly tried to match the colors on a thing I’m working on (it’s odd to see my son in green) and even if it’s brighter it should still be the same idea. I like doing a cooler green shade and then a warmer + darker shade of whatever color I’m using to make it look like theres blood almost underneath it. Also highlights! Highlights make everything look more ‘alive’ (unless you make them so they specifically dont, but that’s hard to do 😢)

I use Clip Studio Paint. I don't usually do a lot of background art, so I tried referencing concept art from the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish movie for colours and textures. I guess my tip is that references are a valuable resource

So at my (DM) table, i have a player who's playing as a (gnome) Artifcer. He chose a steampunk little penguin-snowcone machine named Scooter as his Homonculus. He said it was a toy from his childhood and he liked the idea of it also being something from his character's childhood.

He sent me (and the rest of the table) an image he found online of the snow-cone-machine toy.

Hes my brother-in-law off the table, so for the holidays my wife and I found the exact (discontinued toy) online, and ive spent the last 3 days transforming it.

I think he's going to love it, and i really wanted to share it here

Thank you!! I'm sure he will love it too. The patina/oxidation was a bit of a last minute change i decided to do after my gummy kicked in, it's maybe my favorite part of it.

He comes from a family that is very wealthy, but suck at expressing love. He's ≈35 y.o and his family has rarely given him gifts (none since I've known him)
So even the smallest gifts usually mean a lot to him.

Its the gift im most excited to give this year.

On a seperate note I also commissioned a client of mine to knit/quilt/crochet (idk the difference) my sister's warlock'd "contact" with her patron: a little weird atropal, who acts like a combo of her gay-best-friend and a middle-management frustrating customer-servicd call

The oxidation/patina actually wasn't very bad after I ate that gummy.

I juat looked at about 10 pictures online, looked at the already painted Scooter, looked at the paint that I had, and i knew exactly how to do it. The patina took, all together maybe 2 hours. Which didn't feel like much considering

Basic rules are usually included on gm screens (Example: 5ft = 1 square, shapes of different spells ((spheres, cones, ect,)), damage types, currency, basic loot tables, and a portion for notes.)

You can also include things you don't reference often like travel speed, weather. When I've used a physical screen in the past, I've also printed out 'cheat sheets' for the PC's at the table to reference their Passive Perception, Languages, and AC.
