And here's the fighter subclass concept; Sentient Steel fighter, which is all about wielding a sentient weapon that grow swith you alongside the journey

this concept is obviously a funny take on the sword in the stone, a golden retriever himbo guy pulled the sword and the rock it was embedded in and now believe he's king of... somewhere, he doesn't know

meanwhile, the sentient sword is struggling to communicate the misunderstanding while unable to communicate with anyone except his current weilder and is desperately trying to find their true weilder.

I know I just posted but I wanted to share some props I came up with also, since they’re going to be a bard class

So, our bard just started improving-

Context: The party met a raging lizardfolk (PC) in a draconic priest's tribe who joined the group as a request from the priestress herself. Bob, the lizardfolk, has a habit of smoking his wooden pipe since he was raised amongst dragonborns, without the ability of a breath weapon, and whenever he is out of his smoke... He... RAGES!

After a buncha events, the bard wrote a song about the Crocodile, and this was the result! I tried my best to translate the lyrics without changing the meaning, 'tis down below!

I think it could be a bit of a balancing act, since they’re a kitsune they do have a fox wildshape. I’m not sure if it works like there’s a slot for both if you multi-class or you get one or the other, but I’m very much willing to be flexible.

Yes. Lore bard can do it at 6th level while base bard does it at 10th level. Druids have their optional rule (2014) found in tasha's cauldron of everything, or base line for druid (2024).

Depending what books you have access to, and are willing to allow. Strixhaven has a feat accessible at 4th level, which allow certain stronger familiars. You could quite easily adapt those if you wanted to allow a stronger spider/creature than find familiar spell.
Or borrow an example from the warlocks pact of the chain.

Nemes headdress reference I keep on hand because one of my long running characters is "Bone Pharaoh" a lich of pre pre-Netherese period.

Egyptian revival inspired or Warhammer type aesthetic like this is tricky, the ornamentation of each part of the design should be striped of symbols and glyphs to avoid appropriation of culture, but the clothing… that is largely about the heat in the desert, and is more practical.

And the long pointy Head dressing is often not used outside of ceremony. The “King Tut” nemes was designed after his favorite headdress, likely because it would help the most with the heat.

Next is that the wheelchair is not likely because of sand making wheels a bad option. Use a palinqing or magic floating throne.

loose robes can be also be common over the less covering desert clothing, but soldiers were using minimal cover with bronze kopesh weapons spears, and the big one, chariots and archers.

The four here are supposed to be royalty, which is why i gave most of them the lower egypt inspired crowns. The context of the party meeting with them is a sort of formal meeting/trial so I figured they'd put on the fancy hats for the occasion.

The wheelchair guy kept the nemes mostly just bc i thought it looked nice and i hadn't finalized the crown style yet, but i should probably change that to match too

About to pull some absolutely heinous puzzle design -
In my (very homebrewed) version of the Dragon Hatchery in the Hoard of the Dragon Queen, my players will find that it used to be a hideout of the Libra Aeternum - a Kelemvorite cult obsessed with balance and order.
They'll find a plaque with phrases in unknown and undecipherable symbols (a hint to important plot threads later on).
Then in Frulam's study they'll find these - twelve (shuffled) pieces of paper with parts of these symbols on them. First they'll have to rearrange the pieces to make all 25 symbols (fortunately all the symbols are symmetrical), but that won't be much help as the symbols don't have keys.
Until, the Wizard thinks to use a homebrew magic item that comes with its own real life wand - with a UV light in the tip!
Shining the wand on the page reveals the definitions of the symbols, allowing them to decipher the plaque!

Referincing this sidescrolling sort of backdrop/battlemap, the players will reach the pile of gold; where luckseekers, cultists and madmen have been crushed under the weight of their own greed.

Between the coins and treasures, arms beckon; holding aloft artifacts, shrill voices screaming at the top of their lungs to pull them out in exchange for the treasure they've laid hands on.

I think this is one of my fav pics of the campaign so far; I just love the colors, haha. Pats self on the back. Lighting is fun!
