I was commissioned to draw this Dragonborn Druid. I appreciated my client's creativity in considering character traits, and it was gratifying to work on the details of the character's clothing.

He is a “Druid,” but I am changing that stereotype by showing him as a “medieval xenobiologist.” He studies strange creatures and plants from different worlds. Instead of casting spells, he uses samples of these organisms to create similar effects, like throwing a plant pod that makes vines grow.

There’s a twist: he is undead.

During an expedition, he found a strange fungus. After he accidentally inhaled its spores, he became very sick and died from wildlife attacks. Months later, he wakes up partially decomposed. Now, he shares a symbiotic relationship with the intelligent fungal spores, which are part of a hive mind.

It's weird, Bedrock allows full transparent while Java doesn't, but Java supports translucent on the outer layer while bedrock doesn't.

Hey guys! Appearing on Critical Role's Abridged series C3EP71 had the honor of designing the Lizard Fairies Dolabos!

Dolabos are small timid jungle dwelling creatures that look like a winged cross between a tree frog and a lizard. About a foot and a half in length, they have bulbous yellow eyes with no discernible pupils, a small spike at the end of a conical nose, and long lanky contrasting more powerful frog-like legs. They are a bright fuchsia color, smeared with a blue paint-like substance.

I say, it depends on what you want, do you know what style you like and would like to draw in?
ex. Cartoonish?
If so, what medias inspired you to draw in that style, maybe Adventure time and Gravity falls, fine than study those.

Also always good to study anatomy, poses, colors, shadows and lighting, but first of all, just get a good feel, practice to get the flow in the hand to draw.

I think your doing well, the next I would try to add shadows and light to get a feel for it.
After that, re draw it, but try to use a ref for a pose like she is sitting in, which really naturally give you a step into perspective aswell!

There are HUGE amount of tutorials for cartoony styles. And they help develop your own style. I would recommend looking up art tutorials that cover stuff like drawing faces, hands, bodies, feet, dynamic poses, etc.

I also recommend to doodle every day. Keep practicing.

• female dwarf barbarian

• born & raised under a mountain with a family of forgers and warriors. a blacksmith father, a bedridden mother, an older brother, two twins, and a newborn baby brother.

• on her birthday, she recieved 3 gifts: 200 gold, an Ax forged by her father, (which she names "Lucille"), and a platinum medallion with her clan's symbol on it. Said to be worn ONLY by the most responsible and trusted memeber of the family.

• her father grants her permission to go out and have fun, but to STAY AWAY FROM THE OGRE'S ARMPIT!" (a rough and tough tavern where thieves and thugs regulate.)

• deliberately disobeys father out of pride, and finds tavern

• blows money on ale, actually starts winning people over and buys drinks for everyone.

• suddenly, a horde of goblins rush the place. shaking everyone down for their goods.

• bar fight ensues.

• Bree takes out a few goblins, but is knocked unconsicious from behind.

• she awakens. bar is trashed, empty, her platinum medallion, GONE.

• now faces two life choices: Get the medallion back, or go home and face clan shame (& her father's belt if he ever finds out 😭 )

That is looking good so far. Keep practicing! Study shapes, forms, anatomy, and later focus on faces, hands, and feet. It takes time and you should always be proud of your work no matter what. Then when you feel more confident in your skills, break all the rules!

the tricky thing with dwarves is getting the anotomy right with their size when you put them in a scene with other characters lol

The biggest issue I'm noticing so far is that her Torso is facing a different direction than the rest of her body but it's pretty good! I think you really managed to give her a personality of her own through the design

coloring in microsoft whiteboard can be tricky, and it's a bit primitive, but it works well enough. if you want darker shades, you basically have to pick one color & shade it in over and over.

Thanks a lot! I find that I need to take notice on how 'old' the metal is. For newer metal, high contrast and highlight is key, but for something like this, it's gonna be more muted, but still with some highlight. I think the brownish splotches I added as the oxidation color helps sells it a bit as old metal here

@stiff prism I feel like the chains should have cracks in them and maybe add more. Have some chains look like it's more constricting and others are loose and cracked. Despite being a half-dragon, they are still a dragon at heart. The chains are more symbolic than anything. Pushing more scales is always nice, but you can also add dragon motifs into the clothing itself, maybe a dragon skull be a part of the hood or scales sewn into the robes.

Making your investigation check, you notice that the inner lining of the box seems loose. Carefully removing the cards, the lining seems to be removable from the box, and beneath, two envelopes. Even more curious.

Initially the 13 card deck of many things, if you make your investigation check, you discover the remainder, making the full 22 card deck of many things 😮
