The hand is a little claw like but tbh it’s not that big a deal, I think the thing you could do to make it have the most immediate impact is to thicken the lines along the silhouette significantly and go darker

The very feint and timid lines are probably the biggest reason you’re not happy with it. Don’t be afraid to push down on the pencil and get those nice dark lines and when you’re going over it again too try and execute the lines in a single flowing stroke instead of the more scratchy and shorter strokes you’re currently using

Trying my hand at sketching out refs for SE Asian flavored ranger commission...I am wondering if crossbows in those areas are hand reload or step-reload since I see both being used depending on size (also kinda curious if the curve is really strong or strings aren't too tight to allow easy pullback or not break from stepping to pull string back).

Since I tend to be on "less over the top" (ala Warhammer Fantasy) along with my recent art being on "lower tier" (think level 1 to 8 characters), I kinda tend to lean on more funcational or basic looking gears.

For the crumbling I just tore it out with my nail, then defined it with a Swiss army knife

I also scraped it with a comb/one of those old metal generation beyblade strings

Frosted d6 i made, next to another of it's kind that wasn't frosted.

I kinda damaged this D6 by being reckless around some acetone. Had to use a sandpaper block to polish it back up.

Even my finest sandpaper couldn't polish it back to being translucent so i decided to just embrace the new look and do all the other sides too.
