The "New" role is an auto-assigned role that registers when you join the server. Basically, for a set amount of time after joining the server, you'll be unable to post links- this is to keep scam links from clogging up the server. The role will automatically disappear from your account after 10 minutes. Thanks for understanding and helping us combat scammers and bad faith posters!

You can also go to http://dndbeyond.com/playdnd to watch an interactive tutorial, access pre-made characters and written tutorials, and play "Before The Storm", a guided interactive adventure that helps you create your own character! How do I get a color on my name?
Colors are accessed by choosing the Player or Dungeon Master role in Channels & Roles, at the top of the channel list.
