#ddb-support

Is anybody having trouble syncing their entitlements? I've tried syncing them many times and even contacted Support about it, but hasn't worked so far.
After you click it, it should pop up with a banner saying the sync it was successful.
If that happens, you’re good.
Don’t worry if the page itself still says things aren’t in sync. That’s a current display issue, not a functional one.
Thanks for letting me know. I'm guessing that the website might get an update in the near future.
When I try to join a campaign with an existing character (this character isn't in any existing campaigns) I get to the join screen and can make a new character, but clicking any of my existing characters does nothing
For example, clicking the blue arrows near me characters do absolutely nothing no matter what I try
you need to scroll down and click join with this character
Thanks, that was what my issue was. I have so many characters that scrolling to the bottom takes ages and I never would've found it naturally
you saved me. I was so frustrated when I was unable to use my first source book :D
Are there currently issues with the implementation of the material from the Crooked Moon book, by any chance? I have the character option book, can read it if I go in the Sources section, but I can't find any of the Classes, Species, Items, or Feats from it in the character builder. Plus, if I try to look up the items in the Game Rule section, it's acting as if I didn't own the book.
Try clicking the "Sync My Entitlements" button here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
Watch for a popup that says the sync was successful; don't worry if the page itself still says things are out of sync.
Thank you very much! Seems like it fixed it!
"Synch My Entitlements" is pretty much D&DBeyond's equivalent of turning it off and on again.
Hay so I'm having problems using the thing I prordered, I don't know whats going on I can use any of the content like at all here is the proof that I have it can you guys please fix this
im having a similar problem where i cant access it on 2014 when it said it would be compatible with both 2014 and 2024 when i pre-ordered it
I feel this was more of a moral problem then a technical one, I also read that same paragraph on the store page for the bundle and both of the books, but going back to it the paragraph has been shortened down to a single sentence not gonna lie sorta nasty, I hope to god this is just a bug or something but I get the feeling it is not.
this is especially weird because these books were written before the new core rules had even come out, there is almost no reason I can think of as to why this was done.
Wizards has not hidden the fact that future supplements will be targeting / supporting the new rules. DDB appears to just be towing the party line.
but it said available for 2014 and 2024 so
I did not understand a word of that if I'm being honest.
Maybe also to be noted, if this is meant as a request to include it with support for 2014, i think it probably should be sent to #ddb-feedback .
it said it would be included when i pre ordered the bundle
Oh, yeah, I am not questioning that. Only saying I am not surprised because Wizards is indicating new stuff will be targeting 2024 rules.
Best i can suggest is if you have some proof you can send it and hope they will facilitate it, but considering how some content is tied to only one rules set, there are obviously legal or logistical issues that could be present. For example, one of the issues with Critical Role content being in 2024 related to Matt Mercer not saying it was OK yet. The owner of this content may not have signed on for 2014. DDB may have committed to something they now cannot deliver.
i didnt take a screenshot of it when i saw it as i was buying it because i was expecting it to come so i didnt think i needed to do it
but i clearly remember it stating "compatible with 2014 and 2024"
You can try taking it up with customer support but if nothing doing there, maybe post in #ddb-feedback

i just did on the site thanks for the suggestion
Good luck! I know how much it sucks to go in to a purchase understanding it one way and coming out with something else. I hope it works out for you. 🤞
So everyone is noticing that D&D Beyond falsely advertised that those two books would be backwards compatible too, I pre-ordered those books under a false pretense, also, I cant even use them at all along with the gunslinger, sync my entitlements does not work, ive been doing it since yesterday and i cant use the content i payed for
For Gunslinger, you will need Critical Role content ticked on the Home screen of that character.
You will probably have to tick Expanded rules or Legacy rules as well as i have seen posts that some CR stuff is only set up for 2014.
You may also need 2014 rules active because it was supposedly only coded for 2014.
With regard to sync entitlements, i see the mods indicating it is often displaying not in sync even when successful. You apparently need to see the popup say it was successful and that is the better indicator.
I mean the class, not the subclass, the one from the book that came out recently, my players are somehow able to use it when i content share with them, but not me, the person who owns it
ive done that several times, ive seen the green popup, kept checking to see if it worked and still nothing
And you checked the settings in Home? Those settings can make classes disappear.
yep, Ive done everything
clicked them off and on, made sure that nothing was available except those sources just to be sure, they never appear
I will just pass on the generic missing content suggestion in the hopes something here might help.
?tag ddb missing
Missing Content?
If you're missing something in the character builder, check the following things:
- Your entitlements are synced (Account > Licenses > Account Entitlements)
- The appropriate toggle in the character builder is on to enable the content
- The content is being shared with you from a campaign that your character is not in
If you've confirmed these things, try clearing your cache or logging out and in again.
ive cleared the cache, cookies, and logged in and out too, I even used a different device to be sure it wasnt just my computer causing the issue
also, my players, in the campaign Im in that im content sharing to, do not own the books, but are somehow able to use the content despite myself unable to, I tested out with a player that they could choose the gunslinger class, but when I try to edit the character im unable to choose the subclass of it or edit anything with the class features
So, as to why they can access it, if the character involved is in a campaign (the specific character) that has sharing enabled and anyone also in the campaign also in the campaign owns the book, they can use the content.
Editing limitations is probably because I have noticed editing restricted to the player that owns the character and the person that owns the campaign. While presumably that could be the DM, Beyond sees it as the owner of campaign, not who the players are using as DM specifically.
Im the only one that owns the book, and im the one content sharing, I own the campaign, but, Im not able to use the content
everyone else is able to though
For me, this is type of problem as you laid it out that has always come down to something set in a way DDB is not expecting in the Home screen. Maybe try duplicating the Home settings of a character that is seeing it?
this is the player's sheet, as you can see, the content is set to on, but Im unable to choose a subclass, as if I dont own it myself and its restricted from me, and heres proof that Im sharing the content in the campaign
now, when I try to make a new character, nothing from those new books shows up
ive tried testing this with several new character after trying to do the sync thing, ive lost count at how many times ive pressed that button
I asked about Critical Role being ticked. It's not in that screenshot. Can you try ticking it in your own sheet if it is not?
its not part of critical role, its from mage hand press
its the class, not the fighter subclass
I am just wondering if DDB is being dumb here.
ive checked everything off and on, it does nothing for me, ive turned content sharing off and on too, it does nothing
Also, why did you send the subclass dropdown if you are looking for the class? Is something else missing?
2nd image.
im showing you the sheet of a player with the class, and showing you how im unable to choose a subclass, if I make a fresh character, the class itself doesnt show up at all
Got it.
i can remove the subclass and Im sure not even the one that was selected will disapear from the choices, the same if I remove the class, but Im having that player keep that sheet so I can test how it doesnt show up
On the DDB dumb line of thinking, maybe try putting your character in to your campaign if not already there?
ive done that already
ive tested it being in the campaign and out of the campaign
ive deleted, recreated characters, ect
its like it exists for everyone except me
its not just the gunslinger, the stuff from the crooked moon books I bought yesterday dont show up either
Im able to read the books on the site btw, and I just checked with looking at the classes from that tab up top, when I click on the class it just sends me to the page to buy the book its from
im confident it has something with the entitlements being broken, cus resyncing it does nothing
What does it say for that item when you look at the licenses table at the link here...
?tag ddb entitlements
Account Entitlements
Account entitlements are how D&D Beyond identifies which content you can access. These are synced automatically in time, but if you're not seeing content you should have access to, visit Account > Licenses.
The Account Entitlements section at the top should ideally say "Your entitlements data is in sync!" If not, it will show a button to manually trigger the sync, after which your content should be available.
this is what it says
and yes, Ive waited til this popped up several times, even left the tab up after, still not synced
Stumped. You could wait on a Moderator to show up in case they have ideas, but you may be down to just contacting Customer Support by opening a ticket.
ive bean in emails with customer support, im sure they just clicked the button like I did and didnt test it, they said they manually synced it, I told them it didnt work, now Im just waiting for another response
ive been seeing that this is a problem for not just me, so I know Im not alone
(BTW, I don't own it but much like your players, I can access it when I'm in a campaign with someone who does.)
this has all been happening since yesterday
im sure its fine for you, since you dont own the book, if you dont own it, and someone is content sharing, you can use it, but I own it, my players can use it, but I cant
I think I am in agreement that this sounds like a bug. My apologies I was not able to help. 😦
im just waiting for customer service to respond again, Im hoping they dont have me do everything Ive already done and I have to tell them I already tried
It does indeed look like you've got everything set up correctly on your end.
any notice on the thing with the crooked moon books cus im still trying to fix it on my end but nothing works
still not showing up for me, neither is the gunslinger stuff, still havent recieved a response from support
im not gonna bother doing the sync thing again, its a waste of time when it hasnt worked for a whole day straight for me, so the site is bugged
cant use stuff I paid for cus the site is bugged
the gunslinger works for me its just the crooked moon that said it could be used in 2014 setting that aint working
oh, yeah, they lied about that
thats callled false advertising if they said it could work that way and then change it right as the books arrive
its bad enough that I cant use what I paid for, then finding out later what I bought isnt even implemented as advertised
And you can't even refund
Now obviously I could be wrong and they are just being very quiet until a fix happens but until then I am calling it what it appears to be
Which is a scam
true, if you dont get what you were advertised, that is indeed a scam, D&D Beyond just scammed everyone who bought those books
Well you were scammed if you're 2014
2024 works just fine
its just a straight up scam, if it says FULLY compatible and then you change it when its available after pre-order, you paid for a false product
Then again I shouldn't be surprised, this isn't the first d&d scam and it certainly won't be the last
Honestly I should be ashamed for believing in this product in the first place

http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
yeah, I should do that, and tell them to give us what was advertised, pretty sure false advertising is illegal
Your frustrations are valid, but we and the mods can't do anything about that here.
And I will also remind y'all that we do still have rules here that need to be followed. You're allowed to be upset, but by being here you agreed to follow those rules.
can we not buy the classes and such seperately anymore on the beyond website?
They took that ability away. I feel like it was almost a year ago but I'm not sure.
aw dang, thats a bit silly
To be fair, it's likely the reason they didn't have 3rd Party content on here before. I don't think it's a coincidence that as soon as they stopped offering the piecemeal purchases, 3rd Party content started appearing.
It was also probably a major issue for their backend infrastructure.
@kindred idol What happens when you try to enable it, specifically? Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
For the dragon delves pre-order, when do they expect the physical books to begin shipping?
I know we get the digital on Tuesday
I click the enable button. It immediately unclicks. Every time
And do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
@kindred idol Sounds like it’s an issue with Firefox itself, then. Do you have Hardware Acceleration enabled in your browser settings?
that's the closest thing i can find to hardware acceleration
Try unchecking that and see if the option pops up.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings
Firefox automatically uses settings that work best with your computer. You can always change these settings.
yes, that revealed it, i unchecked it, restarted firefox. and dice rollin works now! thank you!
hiii so, I tried buying something from the market and it said something went wrong, but then I checked and I had the payment three times (I tried to buy it three times), so I called my bank to cancel but they had already approved it? so dnd beyond was bouncing the charge back on their end and I'm...so confused? I still want one of the copies but?? what is going on
You’ll need to open a ticket with DNDB support. No one here can help with payment issues.
ah, okay, how do I do that?

Is there a way to change the look of the character page and sheets from dark to book?
Hi i’m having difficulty with links of sheets- when others share the links for their sheets I can open it in discord fine- but then i try open it in a browser and it shows this error. Its not just one one sheet either, i’ve tried several times
Not absolutely sure, but have you tried on the side of the person who owns the character ... On the home screen of the Character Creator, under Character Privacy, have you tried setting that to Public.
Yeah, thats been public every single time (:
Recently got gifted the new book. "The crooked moon"
However still can't use the new subclasses.
Emailed customer support but looking for option's.
Please help
Not in the app, but the web site lets you switch character sheets between a light and dark mode.
Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
Yep! I usually use safari, have tried on google too. I’ve also tried using my laptop with the same issue- have also used different wifi networks and mobile data
I’ll try it on my own sheet, see if thats also playing up because if its my own sheet it will guarantee its not the sharers issue
Yup- same thing on my own sheets
Try clicking the “Sync My Entitlements” button here. Watch for a popup that says the sync was successful. Don’t worry if the page itself still says things are out of sync.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/entitlement-resync
The subclasses from that book are also available only on the 2024 classes.
That’s very strange.
Are you able to view one of those public sheets while you’re signed out?
Have you tried a different network? Are you using a VPN or any security software like Kaspersky?
I’d assume opening safari i am signed out- when i use google i’m signed out
Several (: i dont use a vpn but i have the apple’s private relay enabled on my phone, no vpn on laptop- havent had issues with that before tho
I have no idea, then. :/
I’d recommend contacting customer support.

Hi, just bought the physical and digital book bundle and 1 hour later got charged for another 120$ from WotC, anyone knows where I can call?
I would recommend contacting customer support as they can view transactions : http://dndbeyond.link/SubmitTicket
Thx
There seems to be a bit of a discrepancy between the book and the character sheet in Crooked Moon for the Sinner Rogue. The full digital book says the Jinx Weapon mimics the stats of a Pistol, but on the character sheet itself it gives specific stats that don't match the Pistol.
The Pistol says 1d10 damage but the character sheet says 1d8 damage.
Hey guys. Im really sorry I know this is probably a very obvious question that I cant find the answer to. I purchased the monthly DnDBeyond gold tier subscription and started a campaign and shared my content. The gold tier sub comes with the 2024 phb, mm, and DM guide correct? My players aren't able to utilize the 2024 material when creating their character sheet. Am I doing something wrong? I know I may be leaving out key details, but im almost due back from lunch so im typing quickly. I can elaborate further on any questions regarding my situation. Tysm for any and all help!
No subscription comes with content. Master Tier comes with the ability to share owned content.
Thank you for the clarification @naive lodge
It was Master Tier that I had, I just do not own the content I suppose.
I can't find Circle of the Blighted, even though it shows up in the Classes page, and I enabled Critical Role in Character Creation.
Is it in the Taldorei Reborn book?
Yes
Shucks.
Seems to include it once for each match.
Air Elemental has all three, so it’s shown three times.
Awakened Shrub has just one, so it’s shown once.
Awakened Tree has two, so it’s shown twice.
oooh
Can’t imagine that’s intentional, though. 😅
ic ic
You gotta filter by source or source category.
I’ve let the devs know. Thanks!
Is there a way to roll custom dice on DnDBeyond maps VTT? Like roll 1d8+5
Also, is there any kind of chat in ddb maps?
There isn't a shared text or voice chat on DnDBeyond Maps.
To roll generic dice, click the box icon in the lower right that brings up the game log and there is a Roll Dice area to roll some of the standard D&D dice.It won't allow you to add anything beyond rolling the dice though (no modifiers or bonuses - need to calculate that after the dice roll). So you could roll the 1d8 but you'd have to add the +5 afterwards.
Fixed!
Ok question, how do i ensure i am only using 2014 core rules? I have puchased the core book in dndb but i don’t see Life Domain for Cleric.
And when i use the core rules in general it show the material for 2024 (like divine order)
turn core rules off
They recently added a toggle to turn the 2024 core rules off so just make sure that box isnt checked
There's always a little intrusion of 2024. For example, iirc, the monk die uses 2024 values, but as others have suggested, turning off 2024 stuff will get you rid of most of it.
They fixed that recently as well according the the change log. Here is a link to the log (https://www.dndbeyond.com/changelog?srsltid=AfmBOoo6tuyRnlsDLKZsP2OicaPdXUUtcbXq9wy9UxHO2JVfXB6NPeM7)
Oh, nice. Well done DDB! It was definitely an issue that came up frequently enough.
not to mention with all the releases lately its a lot to keep up with im sure
but yes i'm glad they are working hard on this stuff.. the updates are much more frequent.
Hi if i buy a handbook on DND Beyond is it incorporated into my account? Like if i buy Valda's Spire of Secrets: Player Pack will it allow me to make a Geppettin on DND beyond for my discord bot?
Avrae is running a little behind as far as getting some of this new content on DnDBeyond automated and integrated but yes, if you buy the book on DnDBeyond, it should be usable with Avrae, the D&D Discord bot.
awesome thank you.
Apparently the character sheet uses the correct text. It’s the book itself that needed to be updated.
Fixed now, though. Thanks!
What is the latest version we are on for DnDBeyond App?
2.77
I guess it still is a bug i will have to submit to support team
What is?
Unable to see Cleric - Life Domain only for 2014
Have you download the Basic Rules or the 2014 PHB?
Both
Show up fine for me 🤔
Can you go to the main screen of the app, click your avatar in the top right, then click Support Information and copy+paste that info here?
And could you share a screenshot of the subclasses you do see?
I th ink it i a bug if you check all boxes then uncheck all but 2014 legacy
Never mind. I had to drop my class and repick cleric but for 2014
Hello! When I make a character and it gets the Ability Score Improvement class feature, if I select Ability Score improvement and choose an ability score (or two) to improve, it is not applying the bonus in the Abilities tab of the character creator. In this screen shot this character selected a +2 to Charisma from the 4th level Ability Score improvement, and got a +2 to Charisma from the Background chosen, which should give the character a +4, for a total of 19 in this case.
I've tried making other characters and this problem affects any characters I make. Please advise.
Can you share a link to your character? Please make sure in your character settings that “Character Privacy” is set to “Public”.
Well, i just opened the finished character sheet and it is showing correctly on the final sheet, just not in the creator.
and now it is fixed in the creator
i promise i'm not on drugs lol
I used to say my favourite tech support problem is the one I don't have to do anything to fix. 🙂
Can I download the books I own in PDF format?
D&D does not offer 5e materials in PDF format (generally - there are some minor exceptions). You can use the DnDBeyond mobile app to load books for offline use but it’s not in PDF format.
is it me or reading text of charater abilties and feats on pc feels hard to read due its too bright
nvm it was hdr
There is also underdark mode that can be turned on for each character
it used to be that when preordering books on dndbeyond one would get early access. Is that no longer the case with dragon delves or the new Eberron book?
Master Tier subscribers do get a two-week early access for those books.
Which means Dragon Delves will be available this coming Tuesday.
Hero Tier subscribers get it a week early as well (so the following Tuesday).
So i have a question, I bought the 2014 spells and was curious whether to recieve the new updated 2024 spells. I saw i received majority of the other cantrip spells but did not get the new blade ward spell. Is this a bug or not.
2014 spells are generally not meant to come with their 2024 counterparts. If they are, that would likely be a bug.
Note though, some spells just did not change or changed very little so a 2024 spell might look like the 2014 version.
Note though that some 2024 spells are in the free rules. You would get those even without buying them.
In the context of your question, Fire Bolt is in the free rules and thus you would have it while Blade Ward is not in the free rules, so you won't.
Ok makes sense thx for the clarification.
hihi, im working on a homebrew species atm (creating hb is one of my fav aspects of the game lol) and i didnt add dice rolls here, but ddb is turning them into dice rolls anyway, idk how to fix this lol, could i have a little help please ?
That’s not DDB doing it. Try disabling Beyond 20.
We don't support Beyond 20, we recommend just disabling or removing it. Otherwise you can try contacting the developers.
ohhhh okay awesome tyty
thank you, that's what I was thinking.. I just couldn't find any documentation about these two specific books on ddb. thank you again.
I made a subclass for the illrigger on dnd beyond, but its telling me I cant publish it since it doesnt have the necessary class levels, even though I did features for 3rd, 7th, 11th and 15th level, did I mess something up? Or is it just not possible to publish illrigger subclasses? Asking since there arent any published homebrew subclasses for it
anyone having issues generating PDFs of characters from Beyond?
I've heard a few times that Microsft Edge has issues. Supposedly Acrobat's free PDF reader works well. I believe the commonly reported problem is a blank sheet.
thank you so much for the quick response... google chrome took care of it...
I have purchased Crooked Moon books 1 & 2 as a bundle. I can access the books in a web browser. But:
- In the Android app, it doesn't acknowledge that I purchased the content and wants me to buy it again.
- In the character creator, it won't let me use the crooked Moon options (I have third-party content turned on)
Try clicking the “Sync My Entitlements” button here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
Watch for a banner saying the sync was successful; don’t worry if the page itself still says its out of sync.
That fixed it (both), thank you.
"Sync My Entitlements" is pretty much D&DBeyond's equivalent of turning it off and on again.
ive got advantage on my insight through rune carver, however on my passives list it shows up as the base value rather than with a +5 bonus
Since Rune Knight offloads those bonuses onto items, DDBeyond probably just doesn't automatically assume that you have these items on you. You'd probably have to create a homebrew item that gives the passive.
Or, more likely, override the passive if you are assuming that you will always have it on you.
Sorry, but I'm slightly confused, how do I make a looking for DM post? It says I don't have access.
Please read #find-a-game
Sorry, I'm new and didn't understand, I figured it out anyhow! Thx a million!
Can you create a non magicial item specifically a weapon on dnd beyond?
Like if I want to create a Kitana that's a basically a longsword with the finesse property and say the vex mastery, is that a thing? I say Longsword because I want the versatile property
no, the homebrew tools on DDB don't have an option for non magical items
I’d recommend adding a custom action directly on the character sheet.
You can go to the Actions tab and click “Manage Custom” to get started.
You could pair it with a custom item as well if you want it shown in your inventory.
Equipment > Manage Equipment > Add Custom Item
it already shows the adv. for the active check
DnDBeyond seems to be in a refresh hell when i try to load up characters
Seems fine on my end.
Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?
Out of curiosity, is it something silly or something that might be useful for helping others?
its most likely one of my own programs that just cause it to not load
Is there a way to move sneak attack under the rest of my attack actions on the app?
No, but you could create a custom action that shows there.
Click "Manage Custom" in the top right corner of the Actions tab to get started.
Right, but they want it moved up to the top.
oh ic ic
Is the Encounter Builder not working for anyone else or is it just me?
It won't load any Monsters, just stuck on "Making a Wisdom (Perception) check to find monsters..."
I was using it maybe 30-60 minutes ago and it was working fine then.
down for multiple people it appears
Waiting on Devs.
DnD beyond maps wont load monster tokens either
Same issue causing that. Once I know something that can be said I'll be updating.
Is there any way to put the Battle Smith's Steel Defender in the Extras tab to keep track of it? I see the option to add a type of creature, but I cannot actually find the Steel Defender in the available monsters.
there is not no
I am told the issue with encounters (and maps tokens) should be cleared now.
You could make a homebrew monster for it but you would have to update it manually when your stats and PB goes up
The Crooked Moon Cult Initiate feat states you get a 1st Level spell, but on the character builder it has two and the first of the two, adds an At Will spell... I assume I am correct in thinking this is an error?
Yeah, that’s been reported to the devs already.
oh that's helpful
hey I have a silly issue, I have a player that wants to make a Bard: College of Masks from the Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass sourcebook, however it doesn't show it a playable subclass. both the player and I have the book, and both consent to them using it. any advice?
The subclasses from that book are only supported on the 2014 classes. They’ll need to select
, not
.
(Alternatively, you could make a homebrew copy of the 2014 subclass to see how it was set up, and then rebuild it as a 2024 subclass.)
thank you kindly

Alrighty thanks
My apologies, didn’t know
My ancient dragon digital dice aren't showing available today even though my entitlements are synced and it shows I own them
I don't believe they've actually started or completed the release of that yet.
They are on Pacific time so I wouldn't expect any release to start (not finish) until after 9 am Pacific.
I'll wait till later and check again
Is there any free materials on D&D beyond?
?tag ddb claim
The following items on D&D Beyond can be claimed at no cost.
^ These are things you can claim for free on DnDBeyond
Starter Adventures Digital Dice doesn't seem to have a link. Is there a different way to claim it?
I’m not sure (and it may have been removed as a free claimable item) but I’ll check with folks in the back
The line at the bottom is just identifying what the symbols mean.
I.E. the items marked with
are starter adventures, and the items marked with
are digital dice.
How do I roll crit damage for monsters using D&D Maps VTT encounters?
i think it's not implemented yet
I'm trying to prepare the chapter 6 adventure from Dragon delves
but only the non-colored maps have the quickplay options
will the colored ones get the quickplay option?
or should i start doing it myself XD
sorry i'm lazy
hello I am attempting to use a homebrew subclass with my character but It does not show up as an option, yes i have homebrew enabled and yes it is added to my collection
Is it a 2014 homebrew or a 2024? and did you chose the corresponding class?
☝️Check the class icon at the top of the homebrew page, then make sure you pick the same one for your character.
If it shows
Bard (the 2014 one), you need to choose
Bard. You won't see it on
Bard (the 2024 one).
All over the new book "Dragon Delves" are these runes written as text which get automatic detected and translated by google translater in normal letters.
My question is:
Which programm DNDB officially used to make normal letters (fonts) look like this "in text written runes" which are part of the official DND draconic language and can be auto translated by google translator ?
Official DND draconic runes/alphabet (which fit 100% the text runes above).
there are free fonts for personal use like
https://www.dafont.com/iokharic.font?text=AUSSIR+DARASTRIX&back=theme
Iokharic Font | dafont.com
Yeah, looks like the text itself is actually written in "English", and then just displayed in a different font.
So Google isn't translating the glyphs; it's just spitting back the gibberish "English" letters it doesn't know how to translate.
In this case, it sees ||AUSSIR DARASTRIX|| and can't find a translation match, so it just gives you back your starting phrase.
Yeah. But would be nice to get the "font creator" officially used by dnd. In "Baldurs Gate Decent Into Avernus" there is also a whole page which infernal runes.
So i could use the same Font Creator as DND do for the official context without creating own runes 😄
I don't think anyone here knows what programs they're using.
But you don't need to create a font. The one linked above has already been created.
This is all they did on the page, though. Standard Latin alphabet in a custom font.
Yeah for draconic i have noe one.
But this picture is official DND Infernal.
Would be nice to have the official font DND is using so i dont need to search/create myself
i was doing the same
Yeah thas a thing i am not technician enough.
Thats why official sources would be nice to have 😄
If you dig deeper, this is the font they're using in Dragon Delves.
https://fonts.dndbeyond.com/DragonDelves-Dracofont.ttf
Can't help you with the Infernal one, though. That's an image, not a font.
Thats was also only a image but is now a font.
I am sure the guy who created Infernal Image, Dwarfish Image and so on also have somewhere fonts i want to access 🤣
Right, but I didn't get the font from the image.
And since what's used in that appendix is an image not a font, that's a dead end.
a guy on reddit uploaded a infernal script font
the post is called "Infernal Script.ttf"
also you can google
dungeons and dragons font site:https://www.dafont.com
and get a lot of different ones for elven, dwarvish. draconic even the ones used by the adventure titles

the difficult part is the translation
Does anyone know how to set a magical item thats homebrew to have it set so the one spell on it recharges every long rest? Ive tried multiple different settings but nothing seems to work 😦
You could give the magic item a charge and have the spell consume that charge.
its currently showing as having 1 charge but it wont come back when you do a long rest on the character sheet
Yeah, official magic items recharge at dawn, not after a long rest.
And since the homebrew system is ultimately built to facilitate the official items…
Ive tried setting it to dawn too, but once i click to use the spell it doesnt let me bring back the charge
This is true of all core items as well. They don't automatically recover their charges.
Most use some bizarre formula to calculate charge accrual, so I think they decided not to try to have the character sheet guess at it for you.
does that mean you can just never gain back charges on items?
You just manually uncheck the boxes yourself accordingly.
its not putting boxes on the item for me just a "1 Charge" button
It should! You need to set it to have "Uses Charges" set to true and then put 1 in the "Number of Charges" field.
I have homebrewed multiple items that work this way.
what about the settings on the actual spell itself?
do i leave the min-max part blank?
Min and max should be 1 and 1, respectively, if you want to disallow upcasting and have it always cost 1 charge.
hmmm then i have everything set up correctly, its just not working :S
Items only update once every 15 minutes or so due to homebrew caching (to prevent DDOS attacking the site via the homebrew), so you may just need to check back later.
To re-add charges, you need to click on the item, not the spell.
I helped them a bit by DM after this point, and, to confirm, that was indeed the problem. 🙂
Does channel divinity on paladin not have checkboxes on the mobile app, or is it just me?
Didn’t even realize that it should until I started playing cleric this week
I believe you are just looking two far down. I found the checkbook further up, just under Actions in Combat from the Actions section. Well, that's where I found it on 2 of mine.
Hello, I have pre ordered the dragon delves book ultimate bundle but I have not got any code for the digital book despite having a master tier subscription for the 2 week early access. Are the codes still being sent out? Or are the restricted to a area or country since I'm in the uk? Thanks
That’s a known issue at the moment when using non-2024 subclasses on the 2024 Paladin class.
You should have gotten it as soon as you made the purchase. Check for a link in your confirmation email.
Thank you. I found it now in after asking to be billed early. Its strange since the email I got on the day I placed the order had the instructions but didn't give the the option to reveal the code but its all good now thanks!
heye guys, do you know how if it's possible to access the books in other languages in dnd beyond? im trying to find filters or in configurations, but i'm not that familiar with the app yet
Currently the books are only in English. I do not know if other languages will become an option on DnDBeyond.
I notice that the new dragon delves book has some maps that appear in color but only on dndbeyond maps
Would those get the quick Play option?
I don't know if this is the right place, but the buying books page is strange...
I can't quite fill in the address I have for shipping. I can't put the "e" onto "Drive", it's like there's a very very short character limit.
Yep, seems to be a 25 character limit!!
Can I use a Vanilla gift card for purchases on dnd beyond? I have before but idk if you can now
Maybe for single purchases (e.g. not subscriptions) but I'm actually not 100% sure.
Damn…
Looks like one-time use Credit Cards and Gift Cards are not currently supported (again it may work for single purchases but I wouldn't expect it to work for subscriptions as those require re-occurring payments).
You can contact Customer Support if you have any further questions/concerns regarding purchases on DnDBeyond's Marketplace.

Dragon Delves is not on the sources page, I am guessing this is because it is not officially released yet?
It is showing for me. You may need to clear your cache.
I see it there, too.
also seeing it on the Featured Adventures tab
Ahh I see it, I was looking for it at the bottom of the adventure section since the others are in release order. It is at the start of the adventure section.
I’m getting a 403 page when I try to access the new UA stuff, is there something I can do to make it possible to access it? I’ve seen other people be able to access it so I know it’s not on the site side of things.
I'm getting the same thing.
I am also getting the same thing
Yeah I know some who are able to access it and others who can’t.
Using the Experiment Background from Crooked Moon seems to calculate unarmed strikes with double the normal modifier. I didn't see it in the thread. Is is a known issue? When I use altered and choose natural weapons, it doubles the mod on ANY unarmed strike variant, not even just the strike granted by the feat (which would still be pretty insane). https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/124467711
If you’re still having trouble, try this link instead:
https://media.dndbeyond.com/compendium-images/ua/arcane-subclasses/zepvK7DBkeSt6dqv/UA2025-ArcaneSubclasses.pdf
@strange sedge @lapis geyser @dense viper
That link works. But the website page still doesn’t work
Thank you for the direct link to the pdf
just in case when i asked it in homebrew it was the wrong place to ask the qquestion: i am making a 2024 monk and should i want to make the subclass available in the future the site is claiming im missing a nessisary class feature. and is similar to the spores druid, when the abilities arnt all that similar.
I have 2 features at 3rd level , 1 at 6, 1 at 11th, and 1 at 17th
is there maybe a hidden feature im supposed to fill with like the druid class?
As long as you don't plan to publish it that error shouldn't matter.
But according to the Monk feature table you should have all the features.
Maybe try hitting the main save button again to have it recheck
wierdly enough saving it again does work... very strang
I feel like it is very similar to where you have to flip a usb over a couple of times before it plugs in.
Is there a way to bypass the prerequisites for Eldritch Invocations? If not, maybe there's a workaround instead?
I’m afraid not. I would leave the choice unselected, and then add it to the sheet as a custom action or a homebrew feat, depending on which invocation.
Thanks!
I hate "Forbidden" pages.
Just letting you know that I feel for you.
Thanks.
You're welcome.
Hey mods and support peeps. Im having alot of trouble loading my character sheets on both my laptop and my phone. Any idea whats going on?
Things to check:
- Any adblockers or web extensions? Try disabling them
- Any VPNs? Try disabling them
- Any antivirus tools with "web protection" type features? Try disabling those.
- Try clearing your browser cache and restart your browser.
- Try logging out of your DnDBeyond account and re-log back in (helps clear server caching)
If this doesn't help clear the issue, potentially your Internet Service Provider may be doing some weird data shaping shennanigans.
You can also reach out to Customer Service and see if they have any additional insight:

hey so i am having issues with having my character not load in properly in my campaign after they join. for example, two players have joined but only one of their characters appears, but it not even loading them fully into the campaign either. it is show that the one player is a tiefling illrigger but they are suppose to be a tabaxi illrigger, and when i check their character sheet it loads everything just fine.
How do I fix this, do I need to delete the campaign and restart it again?
I already delete my cache and history and deleted all my history, and got rid of my plugins from my browser and done the log out and log back in multiple times and nothing has been working... how do i fix this T^T
my campaign is suppose to be on in a few hours...
i think there are some errors in the chapter 6 of the new Dragon delves book
the string "(true)" appears 3 times without any explanation
Hey everyone, been trying to make a homebrew feat that adds spells to your spell list so people have them as additionally known spells basically, I've only been able to make it either a spell that uses charges of the feat (which it doesn't have) and it shows up as "use" instead of "cast" or I can make them at will
So long story short, anyone know how to add spells that you can "cast" instead of use/at will?
That can’t be done with a feat. It can only be done with a homebrew background made in the style of the Ravnica backgrounds or the Strixhaven backgrounds.
Hopefully the upcoming Dragonmark feats add that homebrew capability, and don't offload it to the backgrounds. Fingers Crossed!
Hey everyone. I need some help. Tried deleting two of my encounters and something must have gone wrong. The encounter is still visible on my-encounters page. When I try deleting it I can see an error in browser network tab saying that encounter does not exists. And these two encounters take space in limit.
Do the encounters have names? If not try giving it a name and then try deleting it.
If that doesn't work you'll need to reach out to customer service/
There is (or at least was) a known bug where sometimes unnamed encounters can't be deleted.

Hi team - My dice roller isn't working. every time I select it on the character sheet it deselects.
Using Chrome
- Make sure your browser is configured to use hardware acceleration
- Disable any browser extensions - some of them can interfere with normal DnDBeyond functionality
- Make sure any antivirus isn't doing any funky "web protection" shennanigans that can also interfere with DnDBeyond functionality
- Also try clearing your browser cache, restarting your browser, and logging back into DnDBeyond - sometimes the server cache gets stale and can cause issues.
Ahhh... Thanks. I see the problem
Hey I have this issue I can’t find goblin in player handbook also I can’t complete my character creation because of this
Goblin, as a playable race, is in Monsters of the Multiverse, you’d need to own that or have it shared with you
If it was shared with you and you find you cannot access it, this specific character has to be in a campaign where the Goblin is shared or it won't appear on the list.
Oh ok because I just started into dnd and still learning everything no one to help 😂 thanks a lot
Welcome. We all started there originally.
In fairness to you here, DDB isn't always well documented on the intricacies of what is required so not knowing is more likely but hopefully I was able to help.
Thanks a lot all good but I don’t think I found shipping to my country as well to purchase physical copy 😂
If you’re making your character on DDB, you’ll need the book there too.
Good luck on making your character. May you and them have fun
There are four ways to access content on D&D Beyond that you may have in your physical books:
- Purchase the full digital book from the marketplace
- Purchase a digital/physical bundle from the marketplace
- Join a D&D Beyond campaign with someone who already owns the book where content sharing has been enabled
- Use the homebrew tools to copy the content from your physical book into D&D Beyond (Note: Do not publish any content copied in this way; it is for personal use only)
Why can't I choose any subclass on ddb?
is your character of the correct level to chose? (level 3 is the most common)
.. and you must own the content or your character has to be in a campaign where it is shared with you if it is paid content.
Nice name my character name is Styx 😂😂😂😂
Yes
What do you mean own?
and you cant take any subclasses? or do you just have one choice?
One choice
ah well then thats because only one subclass is free
I wanted to take moon but they made me take land on druid
other options need be be bought on DnD beyond or be shared with you by a DM
Can I play dnd on my tablet ? Like online and how do you hear the DM telling the story ?
in online games, people often play over voice chat, like discord for example
Oh ok 😅
Yeah i do that
Short answer is, some of the content is paid.
DDB will only display content you have paid for or someone else did and is sharing it with this character in a campaign.
But is players handbook content free?
You can! We do it in person at the store all the time using DDB to manage our sheets. But you can online as well.
Sadly, it is not.
But the basic rules is a subset of what is in the PH.
The PH digital option is cheaper than the paper copy and you need the digital option specifically to use DDB, so don't order paper if you want to use it on DDB.
Any subclass from that book, yes.
Re: DM buying it... they have to set up a campaign so it can be shared with you but otherwise, yes, that can work.
Note: someone has to be a subscriber to allow sharing in the campaign though.
Is that free?
when i try to give a name it's like he creates a new one
Sharing, yes, other than the one person that pays for the book, and the one person that pays for subscribing.
Some ongoing tables split the cost so one person does not eat all the costs but that is a personal arrangement unrelated to DDB.
I meant subscribing
Ah, subscribing has a monthly or yearly cost.
If you want to read more on subscribing and see costs:
https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/subscribe
Start your first month free with the Hero and Master Tiers of D&D Beyond. Receive monthly perks, access homebrew content and create unlimited characters.
I personally do yearly because I DM and play a decent amount so the savings help.
You should be able to free for a while. You can always sub later.
Note that owning books is independent. So if you buy a digital book, you do not have to subscribe to use the content you purchased.
I'm making a one-shot campaign for the first time. My friend, who's usually the DM of our group, has basically everything on beyond, and my understanding is that as soon as he's in the group, I'll be able to use all of the content he's bought for the campaign. Is that true, or is it only the other way, where the DM shares everything they have?
If someone in the campaign has an active Master Tier subscription, the DM of the DnDBeyond campaign can toggle on content sharing and everyone in that campaign will share what books and content thay have with everyone else within that campaign. The DM can then toggle which books players will be able to read but all character options will remain usable (e.g. the players can't read the adventure books but can still add character features from that book into their character).
Awesome, how do I get that started? I don't see the option currently.
Let me double check the process here
Okay go to your DnDBeyond campaign and at the top there are buttons to enable Content Sharing.
If you don't see it it either means the person with the Master Tier subscription hasn't enabled it or that they have already enabled content sharing on the maximum allowed 5 campaigns.
I see My Campaigns, Create a Campaign, Edit Campaign and Create Encounter
Double check that they haven't enabled content sharing on 5 campaigns already.
Actually maybe the Mater Tier subscriber need to go to the campaign and enable content sharing there.
Sorry it's been a hot minute since I used this feature lol
Ah okay - the Master Tier subscriber needs to go to the campaign page and enable it on the campaign
No worries, I appreciate the help
Here's the FAQ on content sharing: https://dndbeyond-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/articles/7747210355604-Campaign-Content-Sharing-and-You
Also note the specific character you are trying to edit has to be in that campaign for the options to appear.
Not sure this is the correct place but, I was working on the game I run weekly and noticed I have access to books and their contents that I have not bought. Is this an over site by DDB? I do have the Master Tier subscription if that has anything to do with it.
If you or someone in your campaign has an active master tier subscription, they can enable content sharing on up to 5 campaigns.
This means everyone in that campaign can access content that everyone else has.
See this FAQ on content sharing: https://dndbeyond-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/articles/7747210355604-Campaign-Content-Sharing-and-You
How do I add a homebrew spell to my spell list on my character sheet? its in my collection but its not showing
Did you toggle on "Homebrew" on the character sheet?
yes Ive tried that
Also it may take up to 15 minutes before any homebrew creations show up.
Its been over an hour
Huh. Does your character meet the requirements for the spell? e.g. if it's a wizard spell, is your character a wizard and able to add it to their list?
yes
not a mod but could you could try making a character with a different class year/version? sometimes homebrew spells dont add it for both 5e versions. it might only be for the 5.5e or 5e version
All spells should work across 2014/2024 classes now I believe
last time i checked there was two options for every class in the homebrew editor but it’s been a while
Fair and worth double checking just in case.
i could very well be wrong lol
SilentAffirmations, on the front end of the sheet, under the Spells tab (next to Actions), click the Manage Spells button. Make sure you have a spot open under Known Spells and then check the spells listed down near the bottom and check and see if you can see your homebrew spell. You should be able to add it there.
No, thats the issue. Its not showing in that list. I just randomly added someoneles spell to see if theirs shows up, and it does. So there has to be something I am missing while making the spell.
Do you have a link to this homebrew creation? (doesn't have to be published)
I can try and poke at it and see if anything stands out.
Do I have to do something specific to publish it? Because its not even showing up when I search for it on the Database & I dont see a publish button
Is it not listed under your Homebrew Creations? https://www.dndbeyond.com/my-creations
ok you have to hit the share with community button. I got it ty
If it's not there then your homebrew creation does not actually exist (in functional terms)
No don't share it!
Stop - do not publish any homebrew until you've thoroughly playtested it.
Once published it can not be removed!
Eh guess that wasnt the issue anyway, its still not showing up
Okay so it sounds like you actually haven't created this homebrew spell yet if it's not showing up in your Homebrew Creations list: https://www.dndbeyond.com/my-creations
It is in there
I need to step away but if you can share the URL to this spell once you've actually saved it (do not publish it!)
Okay click the link to it, and post that link here
I already published it because I thought that is why it wasnt showing up in the spell list
sigh
We have so many warnings about publishing homebrew - once published you can't remove it. All you can do is create an updated version and publish that.
Well until I have a link to your spell I won't be able to do much troubleshooting on it
Which class are you using?
That spell will only show up for
Druid or
Ranger.
(And not for
Druid or
Ranger.)
Ok thats fixed, tyvm
Out of curiosity, how did you know it was 2024? Do the pages appear differently formatted for 2024 vs 2014?
This part at the bottom:
It would need to include “Druid (Legacy)” and “Ranger (Legacy)” to be used on the 2014 versions of those classes.
ayee i was right
For gloom stalker, is your bonus from wisdom already added into your initiative roll?
I'm looking at a gloomstalker character here and the initiative displayed on the sheet, from what I can tell, includes the character's wisdom modifier.
So yes
Hello, I'm an old 2nd edition D&D player/DM. I'm getting a group together and I'm learning the new rules for 5th edition. The D&D beyond app is amazing. Its kinda the reason I'm getting my old friends back into it, for the remote play. Is there a tutorial video to help me, as a DM, to learn the app? I've been searching YouTube but not finding anything very helpful.
How do I look at my full library of books I've bought on this site?
Nevermind, you have to go to the marketplace first. That's very annoying
That you have bought, yes, but if you just want to read books, you can go to Sources from DDB main screen. For some common ones like basic rules or PH, they sort 1st.
If you want to see what you have unlocked including any perks, dice sets, etc., you can get a mostly complete list through entitlements.

hey I got a player in my games that wants the giant fondline background, but can't find it on Dnd beyond? any one know why?
Do you own it?
Part of your problem may be that you have a wrong word. Your player is probably looking for, Giant Foundling. It looks like it was originally a UA background.
It is available through Homebrew. To access Homebrew, one needs to:
- Have a Subscription to DDB (either level)
- Find the background and add it to your Homebrew Collection.
- Activate Homebrew on the specific character in the Home tab.
It should be accessible at that point.
thanks I'll try that.
Hey there! Here's an official video from DnDBeyond explaining how to use DnDBeyond's character sheets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChYPIdCrBdE. It's not focussed on the mobile app per se but should convey how to use DnDBeyond's tools (particularly the character sheet tools) to support D&D play.
if you make a homebrew item to add to a PC sheet, can you add it and then click off the checkmark for homebrew stuff and will the item stay on their sheet?
I own the digital 2014 PHB, but the only warlock subclass I can see is the fiend, am I missing something? Doesn’t the PHB also provide archfey and great old one?
If you set up the class using the 2014 version (the one with
not
)
Make sure to also enable legacy content on the sheet.
Huh, they just started showing up now
Odd
It was showing other PHB subclasses, I thought I was going crazy lmao
Giant Foundling is available in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants. Get that book and you have access. The official version will likely work much better than the homebrew one.
Yes if you add a homebrew item then turn off homebrew that homebrew will stay until deleted from the sheet.
Marvelous
Are anyone else's D&D Beyond Map monster token images blurry? not just homebrew, but all monster tokens? I have no idea when this started, but it was fine yesterday. I cleared my browser cache, signed in and out, etc. nothing has worked
Ty, I seen this video, but I was wondering if there was one that went over the web based site controls. The one the DM uses during a session.
Oh for like Maps? Or the Encounter Builder? (although that functionality is apparently being rolled into Maps to some degree)
I'm not sure if there's videos for that yet but I'll pass on your request as feedback for more video "How to use..." content for DnDBeyond's tools.
Hi there. Does anyone know a fix for d&d beyond marketplace? My credit card isn't working on it for some reason. I don't have apple pay either 😦
Double check that all the address fields are filled in. There's been issues where folks from Canada filling it in missed the province field. That would prevent payment from being made.

Yeah just using the Canadian address as an example of the potential issue - some part of the address field it expects is not completed.
Also a possibility - your bank just going "nah we don't trust that" and blocking payment

thank you for your help!
Yes, in general. I am just blindly poking around on it atm. Lol
I know there were several form post about things for maps as features we added but I dont think they are in any one place and they may be hard to find all of them
I found the form post I was looking for.
Thank you 😊
There are a bunch of post by that author for maps. I found them all by clicking the tag author-davyd-atkins near the top
But it would be awesome to have a link to all those articles on the maps page
Probably should have a searchable ‘maps’ tag on the blog posts, too.
I think they also have that
Ah, great.
This is the only 2014 feat visible in the feats tab of my character sheet. Is this because I chose the ability score increase option at level 4? My character is a 2014 draconic sorcerer. I’m not looking to add feats, rather I just want to make sure my sheet is functioning as it should.
Unless you own books with other feats on DnDBeyond (or that character is in a campaign in DnDBeyond with content sharing enabled) you would only have the free/SRD Grappler feat available.
Wait, so why are 2024 feats visible and available? I will note I have 2024 rules enabled (as per default settings). Does it have anything to do with the fact that the 2014 feat/ASI option is separate from the 2024 level 4 feats option?
Do the pluses you get from say ring or cloak of protection automatically get added into your roll on the app for saves? Or do I have to manually add them?
Once you're equipped and attuned to the item, it will get automatically added.
Everyone gets access to the feats in both the 2014 and the 2024 Basic Rules.
It just so happens that Grappler is the only feat in the 2014 Basic Rules.
I just hope the blurry token images issue gets fixed soon. I've enjoyed using Maps, but the blurry images is very annoying
Tell the Maps team by usingbthe feedback link from within the maps tool.
-# idk why you ping me with that bit of info.
Do tokens look worse for anyone else currently (in maps)?
I've placed old tokens next to those that were already there and there's a massive drop off in pixel quantity
(This includes custom, base, and module tokens)
Image for reference:
This is stupid for sure
it does look strange for sure and changes based on device you look at it on
Hey I’m trying to use Magic Initiate (legacy) and am specifically selecting the legacy options for spells and it just goes straight to the 2024 option. Does anyone know how to fix this or is it just broken
Here’s an example with chill touch
Also I am a 2014 bard
But if I were to choose the feat option instead of ASI, would more 2014 feats appear?
Based on Spamandtuna reply, I think they are saying you only have access to the basic rules for 2014. Did you buy the 2014 PH? Without it, the other feats might not show. If you did, check your entitlements. See below.

I don’t have the 2014 or 2024 PHB, just basic rules for both
That would be why you cannot see more feats. The 2014 basic rules only comes with the one feat you can see.
I see. One more thing, there are a bunch of 2024 feats available that I see. Are there more feats available in the 2024 free rules?
Roughly how many 2024 feats do you see?
Just a sec, I’ll take a screenshot
Upon inspection there are feats labeled for cleric, wizard, etc. What’s going on?
Aside from Elemental Adept, that looks like the 2024 Basic Rules list, see link.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/feats#FeatList
(Things like Boons require 19th level and the Fighting Styles require access to Fighting Style feature.)
Not sure why Elemental Adept is showing though... might be an error.
can you try making the character higher level and see if others appear? Maybe for 2024 they made all PH ones Free?! For example, Shield Master should appear if they all are free.
The Cleric / Druid / Wizard you are seeing is because Magic Initiate gets you spells from other classes. That is indicating what class spell list you can choose those spells from. So MI: Wizard would allow you to choose Wizard spells.
For more on Magic Initiate, see link.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/feats#MagicInitiate
Made my character level 7 and this is what I see
Yeah, then you are definitely restricted to Basic Rules. In 2024, there are a whole bunch that would appear at level 4. There are at least a dozen (more i am sure) that would pop in. If I remember correctly, 2024 PH has something like 80 some odd feats including boons and fighting styles.
Just did a quick count and got an imprecise 77. Suffice it to say, a lot more.
I will say elemental adept being there when it shouldn’t worries me somewhat. Could that hint at something being wrong with my sheet?
Not likely. They may just have goofed and gave it free. Some things creep in because they have technical issues and it is easier to just allow something.
For example, until recently (or so i am told), 2014 players were getting the monk die size for their unarmed strikes that was the higher one used in 2024. I think they said they figured it out but until they did/do people were seeing something different than they should.
(Note, i don't work for Wizards. I just pay attention and try to help. User like you here!:))
Gotcha. Thanks for your help!
If you know someone that does own the books, they can share them with you and the character in their campaign can access their stuff. I can send sharing details if you need it as the bot has a blurb on that.
Does beyond take a second to process that you're master tier? I signed up for the free trial to get access to maps but when I try to go to maps in my campaign it just tells me to subscribe to master tier
Nvm, it took a few minutes but it registered
Yes it can take time due to scale of things DnDBeyond makes extensive use of caching - which means things can take time before it shows up on clients
if im making a greatsword magic item, can i add the reach property to it?
So in the unearthed arcana it does not show how many arcane shots an arcane archer gets based on their intelligence bonus
Wrong channel
What channel does it belong in
The feats are listed the same on the website as they are on the app. My character is a level 6 2014 sorcerer, and I chose ASI instead of a feat a level 4. So is what I’m seeing in regards to 2024 feats (aside from elemental adept) normal? Also, while we’re at it, why is my ability save dc blank on my character’s pdf?
Sorry, I replied to the wrong post there. 😅
Seems like it might be an app issue. Can you try it on the website instead, or try disabling “Core Rules” for that character?
But yeah, your feats look like they’re working as intended (aside from Elemental Adept, which I think is a known issue).
That Ability Save DC field is meant for things like a monk’s Focus Points save DC.
If you don’t have a feature like that, it won’t put anything there.
Yeah, you can add a Modifier with Type: Weapon Property and Subtype: Reach.
The survey opens tomorrow. That’s the best way to provide UA feedback.

Thanks for your help spamandtuna!
How do I disable auto-initiative on DNDMaps?
You don't really have to ask you should be able to just type a value instead.
If you don't want it to prepopulate that, I haven't found a way yet.
A rogue in my party has a sleight of hand of 9 despite not having expertice. We are lvl 4. Is there a way to see how DnDbeyond calculated the 9?
Not really
But if you want to share a link to the character, we can try to help you figure it out.
With dex of 15 and proficiency in soh, shouldnt the mod be 3+2=5?
EDIT: actually even 2+2=4.
I'd rather not share bc it is not my sheet per se.
Assuming there were no other rules granting a bonus, yes.
Might want to check if they have Gloves of Thievery. It gives exactly +5 to Sleight of Hand. (At least for 2024 rules)
Hello quick question I have made another character on ddb on my rouge character as I leveled up the hp automatically went up. I am creating a new character for a quick add in to the campaign so this character needs to be a level 3 and the hp is staying at 12....how do I fix this?
First check your character settings - when you first set the character up you need to pick whether you take the average or whether you roll HP on level up. If you've picked rolling HP on level up, you'll need to roll a die of the hit dice type (e.g. as a rogue you'd use a d8 dice). At each level up you'd roll a d8 and then add it to your hit points. Go to the Edit Character screen and in the Class section, click the Manage HP and add up your rolled HP and add it to the total.
If you've taken average, DnDBeyond will automatically add the average to your HP on level up.
They did!
I'm going start running a Curse of Strahd campaign starting July or August. I only have the digital version. What would be the best way to print the Handouts from Appendix F? The best way I can think of is the take a screen shot and paste it into a word processor and print from there. If there a way to print it directly from dndbeyond?
I don't think there's any easy way. If you need to run in person, you'll need to come up with some other solution.
Things that are set up for printing directly from D&D Beyond usually have a Print button similar to this one:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/ua/arcane-subclasses
Ok, thank you!
Does anyone know how you disable auto-roll initiative in BeyondMaps? Thanks!
You can't disable it but the DM can manually insert numbers and override it.
Is there a way for the character sheets on Beyond not have their backgrounds super zoomed in? I can barely see the image at all unless I zoom out and then my character sheet is tiny.
It depends on the display settings of your monitor
It should be at 100% to see full background
Okay, I will investigate. I’m using a MacBook.
Not just that, but it does adjust based on the resolution. You will likely not see the full image in most standard cases.
Hello, I'm having trouble where a lot of 2024 options aren't available on a character sheet in dndbeyond. I think it's related to dndbeyond not showing the players handbook (2024) as being in my library. I'm able to view it, and don't have an option to buy it.
Sounds like the book is being shared with you, in which case your character would need to be assigned to the campaign that’s sharing it in order to use those options.
You can purchase the book here, though, after which you’ll be able to use it anywhere on the site.
https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/3709000?pid=DB3709000
yep that got it, thank you
When I roll the dice I hear the sound but don't actually see them being rolled on the page anymore, not sure what could be causing it.
hello I'm new in Discord where and how can I find a group
This sounds more like a rules question. I believe that item might be homebrew or 3rd party and thus the best place to ask is either #homebrew or #third-party or if it is official, you could try #dnd-rules .
However, from a DDB perspective, the easiest way to find out how D&D Beyond handles it would be to add the item to a character and see if a support issue is needed. (As support of DDB is what we do in this channel)
In the absence of other rules though, I am pretty sure the correct implementation based on what you sent is putting on the Feathered Robe just fixes your INT & CHA to 22. Manual always affects base score which the 22 is not so the total should not be 24.
we'd recommend checking in #looking-for-players or reading in #find-a-game about how you can make a post if you have others also wanting to play, but maybe y'all are just looking for a DM
If you click on the skill, either from the mobile app or a laptop, then on Customize, are you seeing any overrides in there?
We had tracked that down. The character had Gloves of Thievery which was adding +5 to get to the 9.
The rogue sneaked in gloves of thievery 🤣
How do I turn on content sharing for the token browser? I can't seem to add anything to the map that I haven't personally bought.
My friend is in the game and has basically everything.
Maps doesn’t content share currently. My advice is put in feedback using the tab to the right of the maps screen asking for it.
Gotcha.
Yeah, it’s the main thing that has prevented me from using it since its launch. Real bummer and I hope they address it.
That and easy customization of token images.
(No, homebrewing a creature to do it is not easy, it’s slow and very annoying)
Do you have Hardware Acceleration enabled in your browser settings?
Check the looking for channels.
I think most of them can be found through #find-a-game
That’s a #dnd-rules question, but I would say a scroll doesn’t count as being “from this feature”.
Even if the scroll casts one of the same spells from the feature.
trying to create a homebrew subclass but it's telling me something is mapped that is either private homebrew or licensed. what's the easiest way to find it because I'm searching and searching and not finding it
That’s typically caused either by spells that aren’t in the Basic Rules, or by including links.
You can try hitting the main save button to re-trigger the validator, though.
If your homebrew really doesn’t have any such issues, that should clear the error. If not, you’ve still got something to correct.
And it’s worth noting that those errors only apply if you’re trying to publish this for the global community (after it’s finished and playtested and ready to live in its current state forever).
Otherwise you can already use it in your campaigns as-is, with whatever spells you like. You can just ignore those errors entirely.
I cant see the "looking for dm/player" chats
Check #channel-guide and id:browse
See also #find-a-game to learn how to use our Looking For Game Channels
How do I add the Pact Magic or Spellcasting feature to a homebrew subclass so that it qualifies for certain feats?
Say, if I copy the Order of the Profane Soul subclass.
the easiest way is to make a copy of a subclass that has the feat that you want to mimic and see how it's set up in there
Weird thing is, when I made a copy of that subclass, it doesn't meet the requirements for Elemental Adept.
I’m pretty sure those feat prerequisites are tied to the specific classes that already have that feature.
But the simplest solution would be to just temporarily turn off feat prerequisites for that character.
Any update on when they will fix the criticals for monsters on Maps? As of right now, rolling critical is not an option. You have to roll a custom die to get the amount.
I don’t know, but if that’s something you want added, I’d recommend sharing that through the Feedback link inside Maps itself.
How to access the "Artificer’s Forge Digital Dice Set" from https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/5147000?pid=DB5147000&Digital%2FPhysical=Digital ?
Do i need the "Physical And Digital Bundle" or is the Digital Product enough ?
You should receive it as long as you order in Beyond
EDIT: sorry I mixed up the different die, see answer underneath
I have a question too
I'm creating 1 homebrew spell. How can I make it deal 1d10 + dex modifier ? It can't find how to add the modifier
The Artificer’s Forge dice are included in the physical + digital bundle, or can be purchased separately.
Preordering any digital version also gets you the Airships of Eberron dice.
Why does the grim hollow player pack cost more on mobile?
You could try making a homebrew copy of a spell like Magic Stone to see how that one does it.
Oh I was wondering if there was a spell like that thanks
The prices should be the same AFAIK, but the website displays in USD, and the app uses your local currency (converted from USD).
the app converts it to local prices iirc and accounts for any taxes? Cant be 100% sure on that
Thought so, but I just converted and its slightly more expensive still, also doesnt have the summer sale price
Sale prices are only available on the website.
Oh alright, thanks
But if you do buy it on the site, you can then use it in the app.
I ended up using paypal, thanks for the info though
The data size cap is like 50mb I believe with nitro it raises to 500mb
i dont think theyre thinking discord
Easy way around it is go into the file of the photo and compress it it makes the quality slightly less but works most times
If it is a size issue, sometimes changing file formats works. For example, JPGs tend to be smaller than BMPs.
is anyone else not able to load in a campaign as a player
Usually if I cannot join a campaign it's either because:
- the join link is incorrect
- the campaign is full
- this character is already in a different campaign
(assuming here I did not misunderstand the question)
i just keep getting DM hasnt started the session error but he restarted it twice
and the other 3 people cant either
Ah, different problem. Ignore what I wrote!
seems to be all good now, ty though
does agonizing blast not let me select anything other than eldritch blast on dndbeyond?
I'm so absolutely new, I'm basically in character creation (mostly). I was using a 2018 Player's Guide to build my Rogue, but for reasons decided to go to DnDBeyond to finish creation. Realized when I got back with the DM that DnDBeyond is using 2025, but we're using the old rules, so I went back to recreate my character with the 2025 rules toggled off.
So, in the book, I selected the Arcane Trickster subclass, and set those features with my DM, but when I went into DDB to log those features, the only subclass available was Thief. Can anyone offer some guidance on getting the Arcane Trickster subclass using the 2014 Core Rules?
It only affects Eldritch Blast by letting you add your Charisma modifier to the damage roll. It doesn't have an effect with other cantrips or spells
You have to have the source book that the arcane trickster subclass comes from (and this will apply to any subclass not included in the base rules). Make sure you have the 2014 player handbook
You’ll need to own the 2014 PHB or have it shared with you through that campaign. When selecting your class, make sure to choose
Rogue under 2014 Core Rules (and not
Rogue under Core Rules).
If you mean for 2024 Agonizing Blast, it should support other Cantrips by RAW. It is a known bug for a while now and when I read about it, it sounded like it was not going to get fixed in a hurry.
If it is for 2014, it truly only works for Eldritch Blast in the RAW.
Ah! Thanks.
The 10th lvl champion fighter feature Heroic Warrior - implies starting each round with inspiration, but in beyond actions - it lists (1 action) next to the feature -- I believe this feature is intended to be a Free action each round on the fighter's turn?
Sort of. It is just something that happens at the start of a turn of Combat with no action cost, free or otherwise, in the RAW. Beyond sometimes just wedges things in to things it does support.
Does anyone know a fix to a problem wherein if you try to export to PDF a character sheet in dndbeyond it shows the old character sheet layout instead of the 2024 one? The change was abrupt it wasn’t like this an hour ago.
Is it a different character? I am wondering if maybe it is using a 2014 format for a character with 2014 classes? Have you tried with a character it previously worked on?
Weird. No matter what I do i get a 2024 sheet.
Even my other characters and newly created ones sports the old sheet. Weird.
Website or app?
Both.
I’ll try in a different device.
Same issue even with a different device. 🤷♀️🤷
Stumped. I cannot reproduce the problem. All mine are outputting 2024.
One of the WotC people should be around shortly and can probably help further.
As far as I know, it’s never supported anything but the 2014 layout for PDFs.
Any chance you could share a link to one of those 2024 ones?
Hello everybody 🙂 Is there a known issue, that homebrew Items cant contain bonus die on healing spells? I created a ring that should add 1d4 to healing done so I simply created a modifier with Bonus - Spell Group - Healing - Dice Roll 1d4, but that doesnt seem to work.
Not the original reporter, but this is one of mine:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sheet-pdfs/Caldree_75722962.pdf
It appears to be 2024, if not simply due to the existence of "Heroic Inspiration".
That’s still the 2014 layout, though.
Oh, cool then. But also, then I don't know what hee-mah was seeing before then as they said it was different.
Yeah. For reference, though, this is the 2024 layout:
https://media.dndbeyond.com/compendium-images/br/ph/character-sheet.pdf
Needing some help: Everytime a new 3rd party content comes out, it is automatically being enabled in some of my characters, but not all which is weird. Is there a way to permanently turn that off?
I don’t think that’s currently possible.
You can go to My Characters > Settings to control which are checked by default for new characters…
But you’d have to adjust it as desired any time a new category is added.
Any update as to when the revolver with be fixed for gunslinger?
It’s already been reported to the devs. Beyond that, I don’t have any insight into what they’re currently working on or what their next priorities are.
Does anyone know if the snippit and description of a custom action can have bold or italics or anything like that? Is there syntax I don't know about or does it not support markup?
You can use the rich text editor for the Description. You should see B and I icons in the toolbar that do the trick.
For the Snippet, you can use HTML tags: <strong> (for bold) or <em> (for italics).
wonder if anyone can help, I just bought the new eberron book (I know its a pre-order) and got the digital key, I tried to activate the key and got an error page, then when I tried to again I was told the key has already been used, I know the book isnt available yet, but i'm worried this will mean I wont be able to access it on the site when it is released
Sounds like the first one probably succeeded despite the error.
If you check this page, is that book listed under Current Product Licenses?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
If so, you’re all set.
Dear DnDB, I have all my slots full for active campaigns! Is there a way to increase slots?
patron whispers "don't do it, he's got too many for goodness sake!"
But seriously, if i do need one?
A subscription (hero tier or master tier) gives you unlimited character slots
Otherwise you'd need to practice character juggling of deactivating characters you don't need active to open up a slot
Heard! But my slots are full as DM campaigns all 5 sharing your wonderful stuff!
Oh that! Yeah unfortunately not. But maybe if one of your players wants to help out they could get a Master Tier subscription... and thus the content sharing continues for another 5 campaign slots.
assuming said player is in said campaigns
I think this is wise for my sanity honestly thanks!
Hi All - Wanting to run Humblewood for my kids , but the species aren't showing up on dndbeyond... content sharing is enabled and I have access to the partner content.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Do you have that particular 3rd party content turn on on the character sheets?
Yes. But it's not pulling through as character options
Do you own the content or is the person who is sharing it in the campaign?
If so then make sure entitlements are sync'd on the accounts it's not showing up with
?tag ddb entitlements
Account Entitlements
Account entitlements are how D&D Beyond identifies which content you can access. These are synced automatically in time, but if you're not seeing content you should have access to, visit Account > Licenses.
The Account Entitlements section at the top should ideally say "Your entitlements data is in sync!" If not, it will show a button to manually trigger the sync, after which your content should be available.
So MAPS has been coming in strong lately and is much improved. Does anyone know if the development team has their own discord like the Sigil team does?
They do not. Currently the feedback button on Maps is the only direct way to send feedback back to the Maps team.
Note that at least one participant in the campaign has to have a master tier sub to share with friends.

Content Sharing
A player or DM with a Master Tier subscription can enable Content Sharing in up to five campaigns. Once Content Sharing is enabled, any content unlocked by anyone in the campaign gets shared with everyone else, and they can use those shared character options for characters in that campaign. Or this...
Missing Content?
If you're missing something in the character builder, check the following things:
- Your entitlements are synced (Account > Licenses > Account Entitlements)
- The appropriate toggle in the character builder is on to enable the content
- The content is being shared with you from a campaign that your character is not in
If you've confirmed these things, try clearing your cache or logging out and in again.
hi where can i find spelljammer manul?
Here is the link to it on DnD Marketplace (https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/spelljammer-adventures-in-space?pid=SRC-00090&Digital%2FPhysical=Digital)
it is, thank you very very much
Does anyone know where to find a werewolf stats it doesn't matter where from?
I have a question: can I access my dnd beyond account through discord I forgot it 😔
If you have the 2024 Monster Manuel you should be able to find it here.
You can sign in through Apple, Google, Twitch, or Wizards.
While you can link your Discord account, that’s for use with Avrae, not to sign in.
Ok thx anyway
Hi I just signed up for the GM Tier on D&D Beyond. Created a campaign and shared content. I am trying to share the D&D Players Handbook 2024 edition, and for some reason it doesn't show up for my player who is testing it all out for me. He has joined the campaign, but the content is not available for him. We even enabled the app on his phone. Thoughts?

^ Check to see if everyone's entitlements are in sync
Sometimes updates like content sharing can take a bit to filter down and out past the caches
They will also need to create a character within the campaign to be able to use the shared PHB content
understood, I have the characters linked. So that's a start. I see that the book is purchased
Have your players also sync their entitlements at the link above
Oh the players! Got it
Hey there folks. I'm having a frustrating experience with dndbeyond. Some content I purchased - the PHB - doesn't show up on the web site (though it does in the android app). I can't contact support, because the contact us link goes to zendesk, which won't seem to send me a password reset email at my DDB email. and does not allow one to sign up. So I'm a bit stuck!
You didn't accidentally make two different accounts did you? (the only ways to login to DnDBeyond is through a Google, Apple, or Wizards of the Coast account)
No, I don't think so. I'm logging in via Wizards - the same way I logged into the android app, and in any case the email is the same as the one I have the order receipt to.
Okay good, good.
If you go to https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses are your Entitlements in sync? If not click the button that should be there.
This tells DnDBeyond to double check that your account has everything it's supposed to have access to (and if not, to sync things).
Ah! Yes, the PHB is listed there (Grant type: Product Key).
Oh. I found the issue. I must have an IQ of 70. It was the wrong version (2024 vs 2014). So I'm good.
However, the fact that support is unreachable might be an issue for others
In my defence, the books have the exact same title and it's been years 🤕
The trick to see the difference is to go to Sources and then click on View All Sources. You'll notice that the 2014 Players's Handbook has a (2014) after it. This carries through even when you are viewing the 2014 book. The 2024 book has nothing after the word Handbook. This (2014) notation carries through in to Game Rules and any Searches that you do as well, i.e., the 2014 versions tack on (2014) at the end of what it is displaying.
The other way to tell the difference is memorizing the picture, but I'm not so big on that one. I personally get it wrong depending on the picture.
(All this for the website)
Is there a way to make a character with the gunslinger class in D&D Beyond or is that not a thing yet?
Have you purchased the Gunslinger Class from the Marketplace? If you have, you should be able to create one.
I have it shared to me
Is the character you are trying to add it to in the campaign where it's being shared? If the specific character isn't there, it won't appear.
Also, make sure on the home page that you have "Mage Hand Press" ticked as yes.
(I'm assuming here you're trying to add the Gunslinger class from Valda's.)
I should give you this too...
Missing Content?
If you can’t find an available character option, here’s some important things to check:
- Are your Account Entitlements in sync? If not, you’ll see a button to let you manually trigger a sync.
- Did you purchase the book yourself, or is it shared with you through one of your campaigns?
- If you purchased it, is it listed under Current Product Licenses?
- If it’s shared with you, is this character assigned to the campaign that’s sharing it?
- Do you have the right checkboxes enabled in your character settings? The checkboxes at the top under “Sources” and “Partnered Content” control which options are available for your character. If in doubt, check them all.
- Are you using the right class? There are two versions of each core class, and options available for one might not be available for the other. For example, some
Cleric options might not be available for
Cleric (and vice versa).
I'm assuming the share is working, i.e., outside of the character creater can you see the details of the class? (if you cannot, the problem might be the share and we have something different to look at)
Got it
Yes I can
I have the book downloaded
How do I change features from 2024 to 2014 rules?
Generally by unselecting the 2024 feature and then selecting the 2014 one instead.
But what feature specifically?
Hey there, it seems there is an error in one of the spells in the Monsters of Drakkenheim, Caustic Grip’s Action Time is an Action with a Duration of 1 Minute, but in DDB it is listed as Casting time of 1 Minute with Duration of 1 Minute.
It should be an easy fix? Or is this something I should point out in another channel?
I think my issue is in the features settings. I have selected the 2014 set but it has 2024 features for my character already
Again: what feature specifically?
Note that changing your selected rules set does not automatically update the character. You have to remove the 2024 stuff manually and then add the 2014 stuff if you have already added 2024 items.
That was reported to the devs a few weeks ago, and I currently see a casting time of 1 Action. Where are you still seeing the incorrect casting time?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells/2939321-caustic-grip
These need to be changed from 2024 rules to 2014 and I don't know how to edit them
I don't think there is a way to edit them, but you could use homebrew to create a copy. There is a much easier fix though.
Those are class features you are seeing.
You need to go in to the character creator and remove all levels in the Core Rules Paladin class (which is a 2024 version) and instead scroll down and add the 2014 Core Rules Paladin class.
There is no way to change to 2014 features fully if your base class is a 2024 version.
Yeah, you selected
Paladin, which is the 2024 class. You’ll need to remove it and add
Paladin (under 2014 Core Rules) instead.
You can go to your character settings and turn off “Core Rules” if you don’t want it to let you select any 2024 character options.
I see this issue still in the D&DBeyond app, but you are right that it’s already fixed in the website
Ah, yeah. If it was fixed on the site, though, then it should be fixed in the next book update for the app as well.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but for the past week or so I haven't been able to create a homebrew monster. It keeps taking me to a Beholder error page and I just want to make sure anybody who would be able to fix it knows so it can be fixed
Try clearing your browser cache and restarting your browser. Sometimes the cache gets weird and clearing that out can help get things working again.
What's the URL? I can give it a go and see if it's something I run into
The error page url or the monster creator page?
(I'll assume it's the latter lol)
I haven't had any trouble before so it's pretty annoying :/
Lemme know how it goes
Huh. It worked fine for me.
Are you using any ad-blockers, web browser extensions, or VPN tools?
Try disabling any/all of those, restart your browser, and try it again
Ok
There's still an internal server error TTuTT
I made a creature from scratch, filled out all the necessary fields, but I still can't
I'll try something one more time
Don't forget you don't have to publish the homebrew to be able to use it (in fact we strongly recommend not publishing until you have thoroughly playtested it as once published, we can't delete it because other folks might be using it).
That is very weird
I brought it up with my party and some of the ones who used it along with my DM agreed that it's been a bit dumb lately, so I'm not sure if it's just a me problem (though I'd begrudgingly accept it if so 🫠)
I know the devs are consistently making updates so it is possible something has caused some instability somewhere but I'm not able to recreate the issue on my end.
Have you tried using a different browser to see if it might be a specific browser issue?

I attempted to buy a friend a pre-order for the new Ebberon book as a gift, but they said when they tried to use it that the store said the product was already purchased.
Is there an issue with buying pre-orders as gifts, or buying gifts of products you already have? I don't think I could use the code if I wanted to because I already have it pre-ordered myself.
I admit to some confusion on how the gifting system works in the newer store.
If you check here, does it show who redeemed that gift?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/my-gifts
And if it does show your friend’s username, do they see that book listed here under Current Product Licenses?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
If so, then everything worked.
Okay, it looks like it did work. It gave them the error message but their username is on the redeem.
Should be alright, guess we'll find out on release day.
I did a while back but they haven't gotten back to me about it yet 🫠
But we'll see
Hi! I'm aware this question might've been asked a lot of times, but I can't find an answer :/ Do you know whether there is a possibility to enable taking the Pact of the Blade invocation via the Eldritch Adept feat? I tried to cook some homebrew feat or smth, but it just seems not to work 😦 I'll appreciate all the help I can get!
2014 Pact of the Blade isn't an invocation, and while it's an invocation in 2024 a book with Eldritch Adept in it hasn't been released for that system yet so I think they just haven't added that functionality yet.
I hope it does eventually though, if it works like it seems it should you could add a bit of spice to Bards and make Hexadins that don't need to dip.
Gotcha, thanks!
I updated my D&D Beyond payment method and now it's acting like I have no subscription even though I just got a receipt for paying the subscription in my email
Does it show an active subscription here?
https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses
no

yeah I saw the link in the banner after I posted, already put in a ticket. Thanks
is this the support chat for dead dy baylight?
This is not. This is the support board for D&D Beyond, i.e., in the context of this server, DDB.
I own TCoE and am sharing with a player in a campaign. He is also my DM in his campaign. He wants to own TCoE but is having difficulty purchasing. He has a hero subscription. Help?
Someone in the campaign would need a Master Tier subscription with an open content sharing slot for the DM to enebale content sharing on that campaign.
A Master Tier subscription can only enable content sharing on up to 5 campaigns.
If i understand correctly, this is a problem i have run in to. If the other person already has access through a share, it isn't obvious how to purchase because clicking on the book just takes you to the book instead of to purchase.
If this is the problem, the solution is to rout through the store using DDB marketplace from the menu. For your convenience, I will include a link to TCE in the store:
https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/tashas-cauldron-of-everything?pid=SRC-00067&Digital%2FPhysical=Digital
The link is to the Digital only version but if your DM uses this link they can pick a different version if desired.
For xgte and tcoe why are there duplicates of the subclasses when I check on mobile? Some have brackets next to them with the acronyms
Like this
It is mentioning purchase.. it may be that you do not own them yet.
This is what my Android app shows for Fighter subclasses. Note the singles.
If i were guessing... It is possible it is duplicated so it will work on both 2014 and 2024 characters. Not all subclasses work on both.
Oh alright thanks
Yeah I’m trying to figure out which I want to get lol
I would suggest one but I love both and own both. Along with Monsters of the Multiverse, the 3 are some of the most useful books for players to add that are not the 3 core books (Players Handbook, Dungeon Master Guide, Monster Manual).
Note that the 2024 PH and Monsters of the Multiverse updated or replaced some stuff in those 2 books. Your DM may or may not allow the older versions.
Oh I’m the DM actually, just trying to find more content for me and my players
Yeah, the ones with “(XGtE)” are for use on the 2024 classes.
The ones without are for the 2014 classes.
Which is why College of Glamour shows up only once.
Ohh alright, figured it was the other way around, thanks
You’d need the 2024 PHB and its updated version of that subclass to use it on the 2024 class.
I really like XGE as a DM but TCE is better for players. Optional Class Features from TCE are a great player addition in 2014 games. If you are running 2024 though, some of them are now built in to the base class. TCE also gives you the Artificer, which at least until the Eberron book comes out is the only place to get an Artificer to play.
Quick question, I'm a DM trying to view all my players in my campaign, but I can only see that four out of five characters are active. On my friend's screen though, it says there are five in there, so I'm just a little confused.
It fixed itself, nevermind!
Yeah, probably just a caching issue.
so I own the 2024 PHB and DMG on D&D Beyond. Is it possible to get a pdf version of either so that I wouldn't have to rely on the D&D beyond website, or the mobile app? thanks for your help.
happy to download via D&D Beyond if possible. just want to be able to use an offline reference.
I’m afraid the official books are not sold as PDFs.
Downloading them through the mobile app is the only option for offline access.
Maybe downloading through the DNDBeyond app on a tablet, if you have one.
This is the only channel I feel like would be the best to ask. I've asked this question a few months ago and I didn't really get an answer that I was looking for. But I remember somewhere reading in the forums that there is/was a roadmap to implement bass Homebrew classes. Has there been any progress on that since then? I haven't touched the website in about a few months as well.
Base*
I don’t believe such a roadmap exists, but the desire for that capability is definitely known by the devs. Who can say if it’s prioritized at all, though, and if so what that priority is.
Hi, I've tried getting a password reset link for about an hour. I get emails from DDB regularly, got one today in fact. I don't know what to do at this point. It's not in my spam or junk and I listed DDB as a trusted site.
DDB doesn’t store any passwords. If you need help with your Apple, Google, Twitch, or Wizards password, you’ll need to contact those sites directly.
Thank you!
Can someone help me figure out why a player that is in my campaign (or even myself, for that matter) can't create an Echo Knight when I have Explorer's Guide to Wildmount purchased?
It cannot be used with 2024 ruleset because Matt Mercer (the partner for Wildemount) has not given teh green light for it to be used in the 2024 ruleset
we are using 2014 anyways
do they have this icon?
and not
In the DDB encounter builder, is it possible to add labels to NPC/monsters? e.g. I have 5 orcs in the encounter, around my table I use coloured bases under each one so that its easy to ID which Orc the group is targetting, but I need to assign a label to each orc in the encounter builder and I can't figure out if this is possible.
I know there are other initiative tracker apps that do this, but it would be nice not to have to pay a second sub plus they only support SRD monsters.
Is there a way to add checkboxes to a homebrew feat for tracking corruption points earned for each use?
Yeah. Add an Action and give it a Reset Type. After you save, you’ll see an option at the bottom to add a Limited Use.
Appreciate it. Do you know why the "choose resistance" option under feat only has 5 options?
does anyone know why the Dragonhide belt doesn't properly adjust Ki Save DC's?
I think its a know issue from back when that book was released.
Im going to see if I can find the link.
well the problem is that monks Ki save doesn't have a way to manually fix it
Here is the link. And this is what is said about that.
Dragonhide Belt. You can equip this magic item to your character, but it does not currently modify the saving throw DCs for monk features automatically

If you find any issues with the content from the sourcebook or while using it on a D&D Be...
This looks a lot like the Absorb Elements or other similar to Elememtal damage types. Is it possible that the function or the homebrew you copied is Elememtal in nature?
No, it was from scratch. I'd need to double check to be sure. I "choose a damage resistance", and that's what it offered (though, it didn't show it until I checked the character sheet).
Did you review the coding? Almost everywhere I had a list in Homebrew, I had to specify what items would appear in the listbox. I would expect here the same can be done to add other damage types.
This was the option. In the end, I just picked something that I thought made sense and went with it, but I just thought it was weird that it says choose a resistance type, and it doesn't have the option to choose any.
Originally, I was troubled by this until I realized that what is a Ki feature to be modified by it was not as clear as I thought. While they are not saying it, I suspect it is an issue as one cannot just update the single place as specific features need to also be coded whether it applies or not.
On my phone, there are clearly more things on my list. Hrm.. not sure why yours does not show more.
A DDB person should be around at some point who might be able to suggest something. I could send you down a few missing content rabbit holes but as I am not sure of the cause, I don't want to subject you to a fishing expedition.
I’m trying to make a feature in the homebrew subclass maker that gives a character proficiency in intimidation if they don’t have it, and expertise if they do, but I’m struggling. Does anyone know how to do this?
With no established precedent of the rules working that way that I am aware of, the designers may not have built that directly.
I think the closest you can get is to just grant a flat bonus to Intimidation checks equal to Profciency.
The alternative is probably following the model of the feat Prodigy and grant two Modifiers, one giving Proficiency and one giving Expertise and just ask users to follow your RAW that only one should be selected.
I realize neither may be satisfactory, but established precedent in the rules tends to be what DDB has designed for and even then, they skipped implementing some things.
Walking mate through new character creation for my campaign they are creating character in my campaign and it has content sharing yet for each class they see only 1 subclass. Why?
Account Entitlements
Account entitlements are how D&D Beyond identifies which content you can access. These are synced automatically in time, but if you're not seeing content you should have access to, visit Account > Licenses.
The Account Entitlements section at the top should ideally say "Your entitlements data is in sync!" If not, it will show a button to manually trigger the sync, after which your content should be available.
Alternatively, they may have selected the wrong class version.
Some subclasses for
Cleric (the 2024 one) won’t appear for
Cleric (the 2014 one), and vice versa.
Which specific subclass are they trying to select?
The resync fixed it thanks for the help
Hello all 🙂 First post here
Do you need technical assistance with DnDBeyonds tools and services?
(Please check #channel-guide to see all our many channels)
I just ordered the 2024 Player's Handbook (physical and digital edition), and I'd like to get access to the digital version
I got my activation key but from dndstore.wizards.com but it doesn't work as a redeem code
Okay so you should have access to that - log in to your DnDBeyond account and check your account.
Your account should have a tab for orders that will list what you’ve ordered/have a license to. If that’s looking good, then going to the Sources tab on DnDBeyond should show you the Players Handbook
If not check that your entitlements are in sync

OK, problem solved, I managed to use my activation key as a redeem code on dndbeyond.com
Thanks for your help, really appreciated 🙂
If you pre-order the digital version of Forge of the Artificer, do you still get the Artificer's Forge digital dice?
it looks like it's exclusive to the bundle
but they can also be purchased seperately at https://marketplace.dndbeyond.com/category/DD0007100
Do you know if people already have them, or if they come out with the book?
I want to see if I can check out some videos of them first before buying
I have the bundle pre-ordered but do not have the dice yet, so I can only assume they will be released with the book.
All digital preorders do get the Airships of Eberron dice, though.
(But I don’t think those have been given out yet either.)
Thank you! Do you know what they look like, by any chance?
I don’t know. Sorry.
No worries. I'll probably still get it, both for the Changeling and for the Artificer.
Has anyone had an issue with Oath of the Crown - 2024 version - not having their oath spells always prepared? I checked and they are always prepared on 2014, and supposed to be always prepared on 2024, but theyre just not loading in that way on my players sheet.
D&D Beyond seems to be working correctly according to RAW.
In 2024 Paladin, your Oath spells are only always prepared if the subclass states it. Oath of the Crown unlike the 2024 subclasses does not seem to state this.
I guess i should ask then... where are you seeing that Oath of the Crown has always prepared Oath spells?
I can't upload pics here but in the description of Oath spells in both the 2024 and the 2014 version, after choosing oath of the crown it states that the spells are always prepared.
However, it only has them prepared on the sheet when I make the character a 2014 oath of the crown.
Oath of the crown 2024 has the same path spell wording but they are not showing up as prepared.
2014 wording had it built in to the L3 class features so Crown is also correct to be doing it for 2014:
Once you gain access to an oath spell, you always have it prepared.
Correct. It says the same for 2024 under oath spells in the character builder though but it doesn't proc them as prepared on the sheet.
It does not. It says it in each specific oath, not generally.
So, each of the 4 in 2024 are always prepared.
Ahhh I've bugsbunnied myself like twice reading it. Thanks.
Yeah, 2024 mostly stayed the same but left us a few hidden traps to trip over that are well hidden.
I'm not entirely sure convinced it's not an error tbh, bc idk the mechanical value it gives to either the dm or the player for it to not be prepared. It's odd. But ty for helping me realize.
why Staff (Arcane Focus) is shown up in Actions as a weapon, but Wooden Staff (Druidic Focus) doesn't?
Yeah, it probably should. While DDB description does not indicate it the Druidic Focus entry does list "also a Quarterstaff" just as Arcane Focus does so they should be similar. (I do believe neither was intended to but they might have needed a base item for magical staves.)
if content sharing is turned on in a campaign does the player's content also get shared?
Yep!
oh nice

Content Sharing
A player or DM with a Master Tier subscription can enable Content Sharing in up to five campaigns. Once Content Sharing is enabled, any content unlocked by anyone in the campaign gets shared with everyone else, and they can use those shared character options for characters in that campaign. Are piecewise purchases gone? Is there any way to only buy part of a book (the subclasses, etc.) without purchasing the whole thing?
There used to be but it is no longer available
What "following Feature options" ? 😛
Are these options listed under the 2014 version of the subclass ?
They show up fine for me. 🤔
But I don’t see them when I’m signed out.
I’ll pass that on to the devs for review.
Thanks!
I'm signed in*
I'm not sure how this would break it, but are you using one of the supported browsers found at https://dndbeyond-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/articles/7747209347348-Supported-Browser-and-Mobile-OS-Versions
or some kind of strange interference from a browser extension
Yup. On a supported browser.
strange since the text is there for me
