So basically I learned an arpeggio for major scales, I don't know what it is called but the arpgeggio chords go like
c major - a minor - f major - g major
I remember learning the notes to the titanic song I learned and it sounded cool now cuz the arpeggios made it sound like dramatic. Now, I'm kind of stuck on what to learn. Like I can play chords really nice and smooth. I am not that interested in doing piano exercises such as hanon or sight reading. I mostly just learn notes on youtube and apply chords to them like I did to the titanic song. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

You gotta do the boring stuff
Learning from the youtube or sightreading sheet music will not lead to improvement at the same pace as you want to learn
It's mostly a technical thing--- you just won't have the comfort that those exercises build
I don’t wanna do the boring stuff, I been doing it for years with and without a piano teacher, and even with a piano teacher I never learn anything nor do I learn and remember it properly. YouTube videos helped me learn so many things in a short span of time
Idk know man, I hate relearning from basics over and over again
practicing the basics will always be part of ur warm up, u can strictly learn the fundamentals and technique alone, or find some music u can learn that contains the techniques/keys u want to get better at
but even when learning the songs, eventually ur kinda forced to work on fundamental technique. embrace the suffering! 🤣
I see, so are u suggesting to do the exercise I seem interested in from that music theory website
For those who are saying I’m dumb or I’m rage baiting, I’m not
I’m stupid
I guess I’ll do the music theory thing, after all I ain’t doing any YouTube tutorials anyway, so it’s better to just learn something
I mean you have to learn comprehensively to some degree
The problem with yt tutorials is that you aren’t learning the fundamentals that exercises and theory build
You will only learn how to repeat the notes accurately
As opposed to being able to play them “musically”
What’s musically to you
It's an abstract term. Playing musically requires understanding phrasing, harmonies, chord progressions, etcetera
I learned chord progressions without a music theory site
