well tbf I just started but i dont really know how I can learn actual songs
like where do i start
Hi @restive marten
I am not a teacher or anything, so I could be wrong. I just wanted to share my thoughts as a fellow pianist ^^.
I think it is usefull to decide what direction you want to go. By direction I mean styles like: Classical music, modern music, Music used in movies, Jazz, Pop, Chords, Improvisation...
It could be 1 you are interested in or more. It is also possible to change along the way if you think that this is not it (Dont change every month tho, try to focus on 1 or a few and keep them going).
After deciding what you want, you can ask members here for suggestions, search on spotify/youtube/google what you might like or even ask chatgpt (is great because he can take your skill into account).
But most importantly, keep going and don't quit, and you will make massive progress in no time!
I wish you good luck!
do not use any stupid apps that try to look like piano tiles or the simplypiano thing
You just play something really really easy
And then you play something a little harder
Then a little more difficult
And then a little more difficult
so on so forth
any recommendations?
cuz rn I kinda feel like i just learned random things but never the full piece. for example I learned a bunch of intros, like faded, somone you loved, interstellar, golden hour, viva la vida. but yeah Idk I find it hard to focus on 1 song and learn it properly
No need to focus on 1 piece only, I usually work on multiple songs at once
But when you start it, finish it
I don’t usually do this myself, but some people start with learning the harder parts of the piece, because then they’ll be more motivated to learn the full thing
I mean
I can recommend a ton of pieces that are easy
I don't know what kind of music you're into though, and playing a piece you might not like will definitely motivate you less to finish it
Do you have specific genres, artists that you like?
Like I said, some songs that I liked: River flows in you lol, experience, interstellar, faded, golden hour, somone you loved
Something kinda emotional and beautiful but not very complex yk
Idk here's some songs, check them out
This is what autumn feels like - JVKE
Wiege - Alien Stage
Nocturne un Reve - Eric Christian
Passacaglia - Handel
Nocturne: Interlude - Laufey
Solas - Jamie Duffy
Silvermoon Hall (Blue) - Genshin Impact
Idea 15 - Gibran Alcocer
Idea 22 - Gibran Alcocer
Avatars love - Avatar the Last Airbender
Blooming flowers - October
This is at least like 30 minutes worth of songs so I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something that you like and can play in there
nocturne interlude is hard for a beginner
judging by my profile you may come to an assumption
Really???
damn
my bad
I mean there's also
As time flies - Ty's music
Ethereal - Txmy
is tony ann tuff
Oh yeah Tony ann has great music
Icarus, rush of life, sunlight sonata, and pisces are probably some of his best pieces
They're pretty hard though
