From learning major scale and minor scale
I kept looking at chords at how many notes are in between… going 3, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2
For example
F# major: F# + A# + C#
There is 3 between F# + A# and 2 between A# + C#
so 3, 2 - then to continue the above add another 3 in-between we hit F
Now we have a F#maj 7
Another 2 in-between and we reach G# for e a full F# major 9
Then another 3 in-between to C…. wait that isn’t right….
I google and it’s B to make the F#maj 11…
So my calculations of going 3,2,3,2,3,2,3,2 continuously stopped here
Then if I wanted to go further to F#maj 13th, we’re actually going to have the 3 in-between which works in my calculation again but we remove the B so it’s only F# + A# + C# + F + G# + D# —— but why no B?
Does anyone have advice here and can see my warped line of thinking and how to correct it?
Just when I thought I was getting the hang of things… 😛
